This got me a little tearful remembering my husband's CICU nurse. How she began to cry when his team told me he only had day's or hours left to live. This was 14 days after we discovered he had an extremely aggressive cancer. He passed 3 days later. She was a gift from heaven. I'd see her & feel a wave of relief/calm. I will never forget her. She's an real life angel ♥

When I was a kid in South Africa I was hit by a car. I was in a hospital for few months in Cape Town. There was this nurse who always took care of me, cleaned me up and did my hair. I can't remember her face but I remember her touch and how nice she was too me. She always made me feel special. I hated hospital because of the pain I was in but she always made me feel good.

I had 2 shining knights after breaking my back in a 75 foot fall in 1978. First, after falling I ended up in a secluded spot in a Houston bayou and despite yelling my lungs out, singing, praying and somehow through the pain from a complete break in my spinal column at T11/T12, sleeping, a gentleman named Ron found me 17 hours or more after the fall--he would be my first. Thank God he was spraying around the bridge before going home at 7:30 pm before going home for the night. If he had not heard me, I'm pretty certain I was desined to spend 14 or 15 more hours there. Thanks Ron. My second, like Cole, would be my main nurse, Cindy. However, unlike Cole I only spent 3 days in the ICU, so Cindy wasn't my nurse there, but rather the 2nd shift head nurse for my floor and after my parents left to go back to Illinois after a week and a half spent about an hour a night just talking to me. She was the first to get me to cry for about a straight 1/2 hour and I needed that. Thanks Cindy.

Nurses' natural ability to care for others is incredible. My mom has been a nurse for 30+ years in all sorts of formats, and I've been in the hospital for an extended stay 3 times, and in each of those situations I've seen how their minds work differently when it comes to caring for others. I still remember the ER nurse who held my hand when I was alone in the ER getting a chest tube placed. Being alone in that situation was scary initially, but she made my fear melt away with that simple gesture.

😭 Her describing the moment you realized you were paralyzed. And she never left your side. That's the beauty of nurses. Doctors perform the surgeries and other medical procedures and go about their business. Or just give you the bad news. Nurses stay after all that though. They hear the cries. They see the tears. The rough days. They deal with the pain, anger and confusion of the patients and families. Some pray with you. Pray for you. Call people for you. Sit with you. Talk with you. Nurses rock.

I am an intensive care nurse of 3 years now, and 9 months into qualifying ( and making sure you don’t become attached to patients) I ended up forming a bond with a patient who was 17 years old and having to deliver the news to the family that he will never walk again and may never be able to move his arms again was the hardest thing I had to talk about. To explain to an innocent teenager that jumping off a trampoline could cause you to become quadriplegic at the time was unimaginable. So I salute Jenny as I have been there myself x

Hey Cole and Charisma. You may remember me from earlier days. I’m a Registered Nurse from New Zealand. I work in an orthopaedic ward where we get a lot of trauma and patients who are experiencing some life changing circumstances. It can be hard to not get attached to some patients, it’s only human. I love my job so much and even though it’s both physically and emotionally hard, I couldn’t think of doing anything else.
It’s a bitter sweet moment when they get discharged and go to rehab. I’m excited and proud of them, but it’s sad knowing that the connection usually comes to an end and we don’t see them again.
I just want to say thank you for the recognition of us nurses. We usually don’t receive much praise or acknowledgement. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being you and for sharing such positivity and love 💗

Two of my siblings are nurses as well as my sister-in-law. Thank you to everyone involved with this. What you’re doing should happen way more often! I’m all for honoring h healthcare workers for what can sometimes be a hard and as someone said in the video thankless job. You truly live by your motto. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Thank you Cole and charisma for this video because it does teaches us that out of all nurses. There is always that one special nurse. But overall I think all nurses are special and they do work hard. Jenny keep on shining as a nurse. Cole wouldn’t be here making RUclips Vlogs and share his stories.

Cole is so happy and full of life. He is a true testament of no matter what life throws at you, you can still have joy in life. This disability did not take any part of his joy, optimism, and enthusiasm for life away from him! Cole, you are a light and true inspiration!
