Glad we've figured out what works for us now but it's been a ton of trial and error as we're trying to get pregnant too. So thank you for making this video! It's needed!
Wow, why is that in your opinion? I always assumed it is kind of normal part of recovery after injury or part of general assistence for disabled people or interabled couples. I mean there is therapy and treatment for all kinds of other sexual issues... Happy to hear though that you were able to figure something out for yourselves!
@@suann9790 no idea, it was almost like they didn't expect him to even try to have sexual intimacy as part of post-SCI life. Other SCI friends found the same. Otherwise the support for everything else has been incredible

Sexual intercourse is really not a “fun” activity, but rather, is an intensely pleasurable activity and very personal. Fun is going to an amusement park, a party, hanging out with friends, playing games, sports, etc., which are different from the act of sex. Sexual intercourse is physical intimacy. Hugging, cuddling, kissing, fondling, massage, also acts of intimacy, are acts that usually, but not necessarily lead to sexual intercourse. Whether or not Cole is able to perform sexually is really no one’s business. But we should at least be clear with the terms being used and not conflate…. fun, intimacy, and sexual intercourse. I appreciate delving into a very personal and difficult topic to talk about.
What is fun is defined by the individual. For me, parties aren't fun. It's not something I look forward to. For some people reading is fun. For others going to the gym is fun. Sexual intercourse is pleasurable, but can be fun as well.
Single and not disabled and we love this subject cuz it's something we always wondered about. It is a huge part of relationship it's great to see you people work things out I'm so proud of you both❤❤

I was an LNA for a quad. His wife had to separate caregiving and intimacy so I did caregiving even prep for them to be intimate. Don’t get me wrong, if I wasn’t there and she had to care for him she would but for them, they wanted it separate. So everyone is definitely different and it really comes down to what works for the couple. Infertility affected my husbands and my intimacy big time. It felt like a chore and took the fun out of it sometimes.
You 2 are just amazing - as individuals & as a couple. & not in a patronizing way at all. But your individual personalities are great & you are great together. I also love how yeah you’re advocating for people with disabilities & interabled relationships but you guys are so “normal” & relatable. Hopefully I’ll have a relationship with the love respect & understanding that you guys have 🤞
