As Floridians we love “old Florida” the most! The springs, the cypress, the live oaks with moss! Cows and horses! Even my wife’s family had a cattle ranch! Thanks for sharing! 🤙
Miss you guys....watching "old" vids...Love Ocala area...we do the Santos several times a year. We live nearby....write when you are back, cocktails on us.
My husband and I just moved to Ocala for our retirement. Oh my what a beautiful place to live. Thank you for this great program you produced. So important to know this~~~~ You both did a fantastic job. Made my day.
Grew up in north Florida, visited silver springs in the mid 60's, still in high school. Wife and I bought our first camper from a dealer in Ocala about 20 years ago. Love the true Florida feeling. Been many places in the world but always feels good to come home to Florida.
The silver River museum right next to silver springs has a lot of props from the movies that were filmed there. And it's very interesting the artifacts that they have in there in the history of Ocala. Was really nice to go in and enjoy. I used to take my children there all the time they loved it.
We moved to Silver Springs from the Eastern Shore in Maryland. We got a beautiful piece of land and are building our homestead. It's Heaven on Earth 😊 so glad my kids will be able to experience nature every day
Guys a great video of Ocala. I hauled a horse for a lady in my home town once from Ocala back home. Our vet had to put our last horse to sleep June of 2020 and of course a crazy year for all. I was all but brought to tears when you showed the statue of the horse Wreckless. I am a retired military veteran and that hit me in the heart. You guys keep on Rving, loving one another and those you come into contact with. My wife and I rv as much as life allows. With the grace of God we will keep on keeping on and hope you two do the same.
We watched all your videos when we were full time rving. We got off the road a year ago and bought a home in Ocala. We love this area. Great town! Our first Silver Springs state park visit was 3 weeks ago. I grew up watching Sea Hunt. Very cool that it was filmed there.
Wish I had found your channel sooner. I’m in Ocala, about 3 miles from World Equestrian Center. I’ve recently started to seriously consider getting an airstream and traveling.
I have lived in or near Ocala most of my life and there is no better drive than where you were, love that area, grew up in one of those huge old houses in Candler. Silver Springs was a free park when I was a kid and you paid a guarter to ride the boats. We used to bring a picnic lunch and wander the park.
Not sure why this was in my recommended but thank you for this video. Being in thr ocala area nearly all my life i've forgotten how beautiful it can be. You guys did a great job with the video. Edit: Funny how you said the same thing at the end of the video.
Many horses winter in Ocala and spend summers in Lexington. Most owners have dual homes both places also We winter just East of you a few miles as the crow Flys close to Welaka Florida. There used to be a ferry across the Saint John's river. We summer south of Nicolasville Kentucky.
I loved that little ferry. We stay in the Ocala Forest a lot and found that ferry just driving backroads on our dirt bikes. One of my favorite areas in the country.
Thanks for the tour of Ocala. After watching this, I booked us a week at Silver Springs and a 4 day stay at Santos, next year! My husband will LOVE the bike trails. 🚲🚲 Maybe I will too. 👍🏼
That's awesome! Maybe we're bias but the bike trails are amazing and offer something for every level rider. There's also quite a bit to do within a short drive of Ocala, catch a play at the Ocala Civic Theater, swimming ,hiking, canoeing at Juniper Springs , Homosassa Springs wildlife state park, Kayaking or boat tours in Crystal River to see/swim with the Manatee. Lot's of fun stuff 🙂
Are either of old enough to remember Six Gun Territory? It was an old west themed attraction between Downtown Ocala and Silver Springs. I think it finally shut it’s doors in the late ‘70’s another victim of Disney’s popularity. As late as the ‘90’s there was a shopping plaza named Six Gun Plaza in the approximate location of the theme park.
Thank you for showing us a part of Florida most people don’t get to see! That state park looks amazing. It’s so great to see you guys out and vlogging again!
What a lovely place! TJ, the bike fall was a classic! Last time we were out, we dumped the tandem twice! That has never happened before in our 21 years riding it! It was a comical slow-mo fall. Steve, the driver, was fine... me, the stoker... well I didn't get my feet out of the clips fast enough. Found bruises for a week after!
Whoa Nellie, Ocala is the “Thoroughbred “ capital of the world. (Ya’ll both wrong 😁). Due to the limestone putting so much rich calcium in the soil/grass, these race horses build strong bones. This is the reason. The soil and sweet, clear, spring water in Ocala is rich in natural calcium! That was why it was named “thoroughbred capital of the world” long long time ago. Kentucky race horses were moved down to Ocala for the warmer winter and for training. Considering the monetary value of these race horses, the owners would do anything to protect their investments. Modern times have changed the “what was” and the “used to be”. Great to see you back again! ✌️🕊😎🌴(our family dates back to the pre civil war time there and owned thoroughbreds)
Great video. We're staying at Griffin State Park but next time when we visit family we will stay at Silver Springs. Your videos are the Best of any RV videos.
If your really from ocala have you guys been to formaggio restaurant? If not you don’t know what your missing it’s so good. Its a mom and pop place and the staff and owners are so nice and welcoming. It’s off 14th street by the beverage barn.
Thank God you guys are back doing what you guys always wanted to do, Bri and TJ. The content that you guys do is so awesome to watch and we love you guys
I am the granddaughter of a complete horseman & most of my cousins on that side have owned & ridden all of their lives (some work professionally with them - me, not so much), so WOW what an impressive place! Ocala looks beautiful - such a different Florida than what we have seen.
I have lived in Ocala most of my life (I lived on a reservation in Miami as a infant but later came back) Ocala is a place where you either like it or you hate it, in the past I’d say like 4-5 years they have really built the area up. I honestly can’t say if that’s a good or bad thing because personally I have seen them take the fun stuff in the area that I loved as a kid and completely abandon or destroy it. Aka places like silver springs park & wild waters, silver springs use to be my favorite but it’s basically abandoned now I think, gone around 5-6 times this year and I think at most 10-15 people even work their in the whole park which I feel took away the fun of it because even though I know basically everything (growing up in the town it was basically religious to go there as a toddler and elementary school kid on field trips) I miss being able to buy food from the dinner or talk to the park people about the river and animal. Or go to concerts in the park, I also use to dream of renting out the ball room lounge near the dinner for a party, bet that’s never happening now thought sadly. But at the same time with the new building in the area, it’s really cools. I know a few people who actually helped build the equestrian center not that long ago. Honestly I have never been there but I’m going to in a few weeks, apparently a few Highschools, or possibly just mine, are doing graduation there in June. I feel like the area is really trying to bring new people in,mostly young people, but honestly the whole town had a “sucked in” effect. Most of the kids here are either poor or rich, that’s it, and most of the kids end up staying here because the town just had the kinda thing for keeping people here because it “feels safe” it’s kind a sad cycle honestly. It’s all how you see it though I guess.
My home town. I love Ocala. I moved here several years ago and I love it. I am not too happy about all the developments lately, I am concerned its going to get too busy and lose some of its charm. How many gas stations and car washes can one little town have?
We enjoy watching your videos! My wife and I are planning on wintering in South Florida in 2022 in our 31' Classic. You have given us some great info! Thank you.
PS we are Fla natives! A little pride there...... heading to Little Switzerland NC in. a few weeks. There are some nice campgrounds in Spruce Pine NC and other spots I am reluctant to give up yet.....good summer to ya
TJ, what the...??? 😳🤣 Thanks for the tour of your home town - sure learned a lot and loved the streets with the live oaks arching over them ... Beautiful! You’ve given us another spot to visit on a future trip 👍 Safe travels heading north!
I can't remember when the last time I went to Silver Springs. It was when I was very young. My mom and stepdad took our kids there when they were young which was a long time too. Thanks for sharing your trip down the road there! Chris and Barbara
Love what they're doing with the bike trails in Florida. We're in Merritt Island and finally seeing some progress on this side of the state. Great video.
I have been watching you guys for a year or more and did not know you were from Ocala. My husband and I live near Williston, Montbrook and MORRISTON. We just sold our farm and are traveling in our Surveyor TT for a year or so before we settle back on this area again. Ocala has grown so much, it is where I do all of our shopping. Isn’t the World Equestrian Center amazing! We are looking forward to driving the less traveled country lanes! Maybe we will meet you on the road some day. Thanks for the great video! We will have to try the Santos campground.
I grew up In Titusville and remember going to Silver Springs, Sanlando Springs, and Bush Gardens before it was an amusement park. Saw lots of early space shots! What great memories of My home state for the first 13 years of my life. I’m a Georgia peach now. On our first big road trip to the PNW.
You 2 have a remarkable ability to focus on what is relevant compared to most travel and rv videos. Keep it up! We hit the road in 18 months and hope to follow your much informative, visually appealing and historical perspective narrations. Kuddos, cheers, onwards!
Sorry Bri, I googled "Where is the horse capital of the world". Lexington it is. I am a UK alum but also enjoy Ocala. As a matter of fact we almost bought a home in OTOW. We love the downtown square and a seafood restaurant not sure it's name? Possibly Harry's?
We stayed a few days this winter at Salt Springs campground and are looking forward to another visit sometime soon when the weather is better for swimming in the springs. Also spent a morning walking around in downtown Ocala, ate lunch at the food trucks, and probably drove by your old house. It's a nice town.
TJ how did you fall man you were sitting still holy moly man that's some pretty country I remember when I was a kid back in the '70s we went to Disney world and I remember the glass bottom boats we got a picture of all of us on the boat that's cool that they're still there are you guys take care of yourself looking forward to next video
I have lived in Fl all my life, have driven thru but never spent any time there. You have show a new side to Ocala will add to my must visit list. Thanks happy travels
We have been to the WEC it is AMAZING. We were there on a Monday and lucky that they were preparing for the following weekend event. A lot of practicing and qualifying was happening. Oh...next time you must try the Mexican Cafeteria. Seriously is very good!!!
Geez TJ what are you trying to do! Careful or you get a scar like mine! I can’t believe Bri didn’t edit that out. Sandy and I went to the World Equestrian Center and that place is incredible, not sure they would let an old cowboy hang around. We thought it would be fun to stay in the RV park when an event was taken place. Be safe and Happy Trails, Bri keep an eye on TJ, maybe get him a three wheeler 😉
Watched you before but now I'm hooked, you got me on the horse's, lol. So much info in this video, things I never knew about Ocala. We had been there before but never looked around much. Next camping trip, hopefully next spring, we will check this out! Very good video!
Grew up in and around Ocala, worked their For several years When they say Tropical Climate they mean it. Gets very humid and hot But after dealing with hurricanes for 20 years, decided to move in 05, and never looked back. God directs our steps I thank him for this Trivia, the tv show Tarzan with Johnny Wiesmuller was filmed At Silver springs
Thanks for sharing. I am putting together our Florida trip plan, and will be putting this stop on the list! Sorry,, but I had to giggle a bit when TJ fell .. but AFTER you laughed and he was not hurt. It's fun to capture & share the "oops" moments! .. Tony & Laura
Can't believe someone did a thumbs down. I loved seeing your home town. I have put the area on our bucket list. The biking trails looked awesome. I had attended a writer's conference years ago but had no idea Ocala offered so much.
Wow, what a great job y’all did in showing off Ocala. I think I might just move there🤣🤣 Silver Springs is our favorite in all the state parks we stay in, and the fact you can go on the glass bottom boat and enjoy that whole area is great. Guys, stay safe on your journeys and the best on your new chapter of RV full time living. ❤️🤗
I have to give Ocala another chance. Been there one time with my wife to visit her relatives. Up to that point it was the most depressing place I had been in my life. We never went much farther than the never ending strip malls by the interstate. One of my wife’s relatives was supposed to be instrumental in having some hiking trails built near Ocala before he passed. Now, after watching your video, I’m looking forward to returning!
Silver springs was a great place alright. Especially back in "The Day". Of course, my favorite was Silver Spring's rival "6 Gun Territory", just down the street from there. Unfortunately, it was not as lucky to be acquired by the state and suffered a sad demise. Good video of the springs. though.
I loved this vlog I...it was really a pleasure to see your old haunts. And it was such a nice easy going vlog..relaxing but interesting..I am playing catch up..keep on vlogging.
I grew up on Ocala, 1972 until 1990 and after my Dad passed on 1998 my moved to Jacksonville, where I live and now she's in DeBary with her with my sister. Hope to see more blogs of Ocala. Sad to hear and see what Silver Springs is now than what it is now.
So good to see you guys! The equestrian center was awesome, I love horses too! I was born and raised in south Florida, we never visited Ocala, it’s beautiful, but I still love my Colorado better then Florida. It’s too hot and humid there! Be safe, I’ll be looking forward to your future videos!
We’ve seen a lot of “Ocala” videos. This one is one of the best. Go checkout Carney Island, Horseshoe Lake, KP Hole/Rainbow River, Salt Springs. A nice feature on Marion County would be awesome. Thanks!
I remember as a kid riding the glass bottom boat and a monkey jumping on board as we passed a tree. Of course, he was probably enticed by a snack as things were different back then. We haven't seen the monkeys the last couple of times we've been to Silver Springs, but they're often spotted when going down the river. Great video!
Wow ! I Just Picked Up My "WEEROLL NOMAD" Trailer From Ocala In March . First time In Florida Since Spring Break Of 1979. Should Be Getting A Tad Hot By Now There ?? Love Your Videos ..
Thanks again for sharing this area. We just spent 4 nights at Santos. We ended up playing disc golf ⛳️ nearby and going to a drive-in movie 🍿 🎥 double feature, as well as biking 🚴🏼 🚴♂️ the trails!
Been to Ocala once to see Big Daddy Don Garlits museum. Big drag racing fan. Don is one of my heros.
TJ is a good sport for letting us see the tumble. Happens to all of us.
As Floridians we love “old Florida” the most! The springs, the cypress, the live oaks with moss! Cows and horses! Even my wife’s family had a cattle ranch! Thanks for sharing! 🤙

Don't kill all the snakes if you are in the country near the Ocala Forest . Some are very beneficial
My wife and I are glad you two are BACK!! You've been missed.
I love that you give the history of the places that you visit...
Guys a great video of Ocala. I hauled a horse for a lady in my home town once from Ocala back home. Our vet had to put our last horse to sleep June of 2020 and of course a crazy year for all. Hello from ocklawaha
@@jasonosborn5726 heya over there... 😆 nice to meet ya. Lol
@@acooleym nice to meet you as well
What a lovely place!
I'll mirror the many comments from other viewers stating we are glad to see you back, and by the way, great video from my favorite RV channel.
I live on the southern border of silver springs state park! Absolutely love it. And have done allot of surveying at the world equestrian center
What a beautiful State park that is. Glad you didn't injure yourself with the bike dump.
You do an amazing job as tour guides. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. We're staying at Griffin State Park but next time when we visit family we will stay at Silver Springs. Your videos are the Best of any RV videos.
Definitely plan ahead for Silver Springs, it fills up quick. Thanks for watching 🙂
If your really from ocala have you guys been to formaggio restaurant? If not you don’t know what your missing it’s so good. Its a mom and pop place and the staff and owners are so nice and welcoming. It’s off 14th street by the beverage barn.

It’s delicious!

We enjoy it so much we go out there on route 200 about three times a week.❤️
Welcome back. Nice video. Travel safe.
Beautiful old (and new) houses in Ocala! Loved the house you two rented. Thanks for the tour. And the bike wreck was awesome!! lol

We were there last fall and saw the monkeys two days in a row near the Sea Hunt pavilion late in the afternoon. It was crazy!
I live right behind silver springs, i love the glass bottom boats.

Watched you before but now I'm hooked, you got me on the horse's, lol. So much info in this video, things I never knew about Ocala. We had been there before but never looked around much. Next camping trip, hopefully next spring, we will check this out! Very good video!
Grew up in and around Ocala, worked their

I think I might just move there🤣🤣
Silver Springs is our favorite in all the state parks we stay in, and the fact you can go on the glass bottom boat and enjoy that whole area is great. Guys, stay safe on your journeys and the best on your new chapter of RV full time living. ❤️🤗
Welcome back !!!! Good to see you again .....
Don't forget the Tarzan and Jane movie set remains.
Good video of the springs. though.
Great to see you back in the road. Safe travels.
I loved this vlog I...it was really a pleasure to see your old haunts. And it was such a nice easy going vlog..relaxing but interesting..I am playing catch up..keep on vlogging.
So good to see your videos again you two have been greatly missed 😃
Oh...another, in the 70's there was a Wild West Show in Silver Springs. I think it was Six Gun Territory but I could be wrong with the name.
I remember that! Visited as a kid with my grandparents. The name is spot on!
Six gun territory is the correct name.
Just bought into that area. Love it.
We’ve seen a lot of “Ocala” videos. This one is one of the best. Go checkout Carney Island, Horseshoe Lake, KP Hole/Rainbow River, Salt Springs. A nice feature on Marion County would be awesome. Thanks!
Thanks for the video of your hometown. I live in the Midwest and Florida is my favorite place to visit.
I've lived here 38 years and love it here
