    Only if front and rear tire are the same size then that can be done. When front tires a bit smaller, running strings won't help.

    So how did you adjust them?

      You adjust the wheels by turning the tie rods. Those are the bars that connect the steering stem to the spindle. They will have lock nuts on the end of each Rod. Break the lock nuts loose. Then there is a notch on the tie rod itself that you use a open-end wrench to turn the tie rod to adjust your alignment.
