Yeah i agree..i just run at 85 or 90 watts i only increased poqer for the video.to showpeople i tan go up to 130 watts..notice my videos in my qso vids its 85 or 90 wattsso i dont over stress it
The benefit in operation terms of another 30 watts over 100 in real world receiving terms is not worth the risk and potential damage to the radio. Consider reducing your losses, use higher quality low loss coax and a VNA to improve antenna radiated power and received Signal. My old G3 mentor always used to say “you cant work em if ya can’t hear em!” So reducing losses in feed line and poor antenna efficiency is the way to go in my humble opinion! 73
Yeah reducing the loss in feed like and a gold matched antenna is vetter then extra pwr...i back my pwer down at times...this was just to show to get to the menu and tweek pwr if somone wanted to do so...
How do I get the last two digits to tune one at a time in 10/11 meter mode . Example. 28.355.00 But someone is off and I need 28.355.07 How ? I can’t figure it out or fine it ?
@@OFFICALVA3DLO I remembered and finally figured it out It’s the fast button to the right of the large , main VFO In fast mode , the last two digits stay at 00 Turn the fast button off, then you can adjust the last 2 Thanks 👍
I had no idea there were settings like that. I'll Remember that setting next time I'm contesting but I wouldn't keep it there because it could ruin the PA but anyway very interesting 73s from KF7IWA Buddy hope to talk to you on air someday.
Yes its band spacific i can set 40 mete ror 80 meter or 12 meter so on ....also never done any band key downs to test im still in process buying new feed line next month ill have some feed line,,,, i strung up the old g5rv,,, im keeping alpha delta as a back up antenna...alpha delta dxaa
It's a very bad idea to increase the power to 130W. It will destroy your PA stage. And today it's not the easiest parts to find :(

Be aware of the extra strain on the power unit. Should not be more than 100 watts by design.
Very true to prolong the life of the radio.

Interesting. Did you do a cw keydown to verify power output?

yes great for contesting... thanks for watching... please subscribe
I also believe that menu is band specific. So you can adjust power for all the bands if I recall from my old yaesu.
