I was in front on Netrex's screen also (he confirmed in DM's with me). The problem is that I'm playing on America or Europe servers usually when I'm from Australia, so my ping is high. Often 150-300ms delay, which is quite bad and the reason why I've placed 2nd instead of 1st over 250 times (estimated) now. Here’s an example of how bad it can be, how far I can be in front but still get 2nd. Especially because desync is so much worse for me than others, which makes passing and overtaking cleanly more of a challenge, as everyone’s slight movements are exaggerated a lot more on my screen. With delays in their turning, braking, road position etc. As well as people teleporting and rubber-banding/magnetization with me due to the server lag I constantly have.
@@Exemyy Australian servers are dead lol. Lobbies take forver to fill up, or just don't fill up at all. And yea, most of the people I want to play with aren't playing on Australian servers either.

Hi do you mind helping with Controller Settings for PlayStation 5? I have been struggling with the new update to figure out the best and most smooth setting for driving. I also saw Goliath video about direct mode !!! so is it better to have it on or off? Would appreciate it if you share all the helpful settings. Thanks and ggs, yall are insane drivers
The decision of using directmode or not depends on what you want out of the game. Directmode isn't easy mode but it has the highest ceiling of potential if you want to be ultra competitive. If not, then just the new steering sensitivity and dynamic max lock sliders are going to be enough. There's no one-size-fits-all number, it's all personal preference. But people typically are running between 60-80 on those new sliders from what I've heard and seen around the community.

Not precise enough for direct mode, trying to keep at it but it's starting to get frustrating and I'm not even enjoying playing atm trying to learn it. I had everything set to 0 before the update and could handle that, but this is a whole different level of sensitivity
@@Benjamin.B. Not possible for me lol (though I know of at least 5 standard controller sweats who can keep up with wheel/direct mode players). However, in this race, I was the only one not using clutch and still keeping up xd. And yea, I was using wheelmode from day 1 of when it was figured out, but it took me a month to actually feel comfortable on it. Though I was also learning the game as well. I'd say for an experienced player going to Directmode, probably would take as long as it takes to switch from auto to manual. Which is 2 weeks until you feel comfortable enough with it that it's became second nature to you.
been playing racing games all my life on controller, regarding that would you think direct mode would be better? Like it's a case of if you practice enough will direct mode actually be better than normal steering and btw wheel is so bad on the crew, if you want to use wheel go play gran turismo or asseto corsa or something@@Tesseract69

I saw most direct mode players using 100 linearity 0 deadzone and 100 highest but it's easier to use the sensitivity and filter sliders
