- Today, 35 (!) years ago, our album “Follow the Blind” was released!
After we released our debut album “Battalions of Fear” in 1988, we immediately got to work on our second album. We leaned towards the musical direction of bands such as Testament, Holy Terror or Forbidden, but also experimented with orchestral parts for the first time. The album also served as an entry into the Japanese market. But above all, one song from this album is still part of our setlists today: Valhalla! 🤘🏻

My all time favourite song from Blind Guardian is Banish From Sanctuary. Also, I would love to listen to a live perfomance for Hall of the King song. I have seen you guys perfoming live three times already and hopefully I will see you again this summer in Greece.

I remmber my first CD being "Somewhere Far Beyond" so I found out about Blind guardian existing right with "The Bard's Song"

One of the first Blind Guardian albums I bought; I immediately loved it from the first listen and it remains one of my favourites to this day. Great album!
Such a long time has passed and yet Blind Guardian still play "Banish from Sanctuary" on their concerts. Amazing tribute to this memorable song! Love from the first sound, Bards🤘🔥

They didn't last night unfortunately.
They also didn't play anything off ANATO and didn't play LOTR. Still an incredible show though.
I guess after nearly 40 years of making consistently brilliant music it's difficult to fit everything you want into a 2 hour set and some things have to be left for next time!
They mentioned the anniversary and played this song tonight in London!
So glad I went to both Manchester and London shows!

My first album around 1995 was SFB, later TFTTW and FTB. In my opinion Bamish from sanctuary is a really outsider masterpiece. For me one of the best 20 BG songs 🥰
Will there ever be the Tidal Max quality remaster of any of your older albums? They surely deserve some love.

Great album and same release date with Iron Maiden and British Steel
My first album was actually Somewhere far beyond, which happened to be out for just a few weeks back then. I bought Battalions of fear and Follow the blind just the next week. It was in 1994 (if I remember corrrectly) when I went to my first Blind Guardian concert in Trier, germany (im 'Exil', aka Sommerbühne). Been a fan ever since :)
You guys should play the title track live when you come to the US!
