Hi guys im from Pana. In the 60' and 70's Santander wasnt like that at all, it was a beaitiful street full of chalets with big gardens and trees, it used to smell fresh, but now it is just shops.

Do you know if you can swim in the lake or does it have alligators? I'm staying there for 6 weeks

You can swim in certain parts, but not all of Lake Atitlan. We recommend checking with the locals 🇬🇹💛
