- शोले रिलीज़ होने के कुछ दिनों बाद से ही मिनर्वा थियेटर से ताड़देव ब्रिज तक दर्शकों की लाइनें लगने लगी थीं. मिनर्वा के पास के बस स्ट़ॉप को 'शोले स्टॉप' कहा जाने लगा था. मिनर्वा के मैनेजर सुशील मेहरा रोज़ सुबह 8 बजे से रात 8 बजे तक इतने व्यस्त रहते थे कि उन्होंने अपने परिवार को सिनेमा हॉल के अंदर बने दो कमरों के अपार्टमेंट में बुला लिया था क्योंकि रोज़ घर जाने का कोई तुक नहीं था. लोगों की दीवानगी का आलम ये था कि पंजाब से दिल्ली के प्लाज़ा सिनेमा के लिए दर्शकों से खचाखच भरी बसें चलती थीं जिनपर लिखा होता था 'शोले स्पेशल.' शोले पर किताब 'शोले द मेकिंग ऑफ़ द क्लासिक' लिखने वाली अनुपमा चोपड़ा लिखती हैं, '15 रुपए का बालकनी टिकट 200 रुपए में बिक रहा था. भारतीय फ़िल्मों के इतिहास में ये पहली बार हुआ था कि कोई टिकट 100 रुपए से अधिक में बिक रहा था. एक सप्ताह मुंबई में इतनी बारिश हुई कि मिनर्वा थियेटर में पानी भर गया. लॉबी में चार फ़ुट तक पानी जमा हो गया तब भी लोग अपने जूते हाथ में लेकर और अपनी पैंट ऊपर चढ़ा कर पानी में छप छप करते हुए थियेटर तक पहुंच रहे थे. डायलॉग तो ख़ैर लोगों को याद थे ही, लोगों ने फ़िल्म के साउंड एफ़ेक्ट तक याद कर रखे थे.' कहानी मशहूर थी कि किस तरह दिल्ली के प्लाज़ा सिनेमा में टिकट ब्लैक करने वाले एक शख़्स ने पाँच महीनों तक शोले के टिकट 150 रुपे में ब्लैक में बेच कर सीलमपुर में अपने लिए एक छोटा घर बनवा लिया था और उसे शोले के पोस्टरों से सजाया था.

ठाकुर (संजीव कुमार) के रोल के आसपास पूरी फिल्म घूमती है, शोले फिल्म में किसी कलाकार को कम या ज्यादा नहीं आंका नहीं जा सकता है, सभी कलाकारों को बराबर सम्मान मिला , सदी की सबसे अच्छी फिल्म.

शोले के डायलॉग की टेप रिकॉर्डर कैसेट भी लाखो करोड़ो की संख्या में बिकी.....इस फिल्म का हर चीज में रिकॉर्ड आज तक लोगो के दिलो में छाया है....भारत में किसी भी आदमी को सवाल ये नही पूछा जाता की तूने शोले देखी के नही...मगर सवाल ये पूछा जाता है की तूने शोले कितनी बार देखी है ❓❓❓...!!!!! 💯
उस समय फ़िल्म देखने का माध्यम थिएटर ही था। तो लोगों को कैसे दिखाएं, इस समस्या के समाधान के लिए पूरी फ़िल्म के डायलॉग लिख लिए फिर हमनें एक नहीं कई बार इस फ़िल्म का नाटक खेला। जिसमें पहली बार मैं राधा का घरवाला बना, दूसरी बार सांभा, तीसरी बार गाओं वाला और उसके बाद कई बार जय (अमिताभ बच्चन) का किरदार कई बार निभाया। बहुत मजा आता था। कुछ सीन बदलने पड़ते थे। जैसे ताँगा बसन्ती तांगे के लिए सिर्फ हाथ से इशारा कर देती थी।
नाटक और फ़िल्म में बहुत अंतर होता है क्योंकि नाटक में रीटेक नहीं होता।

शोले..मेरे पैदा होने से पहले की फ़िल्म है...मेरे बचपन मे हमारे गाँवो में फ़िल्म के VCR प्लेयर व TV स्क्रीन लाये जाते...रात रात भर 4..5 फिल्मे देखते..
शोले भी लाई जाती थी..फ़िल्म थोड़ा लंबी थी इसलिए 2 पार्ट में आती..
हमने तो बचपन मे शोले के इतने संवाद सुन चुके थे की जब मूवी देखी तो लगा ना जाने कितनी बार देख ली।

In 1980 my father bought dialogues cassette of Sholay and we used to hearing every Weekend for so many years

I too had that caset of set
i remember my mom playing this cassette daily a bit every evening and me and my brother and sister keenly listening to the dialogues and trying to repeating them. those were the lovely moments

I won the first prize in my school for enacting a scene from the movie at Annual Function !".

My father purchased a Sony Taperecorder in 1975,and he went and recorded the whole film ,we used to listen the story normally every day throughout my teenage allmost 1980-82 , i still remember all the dialogues scene by scene . A very well balanced film in every aspect .....we used to weep why AB died ......but actually this made a emotional point..The All Time Best Film of India

शोले मैने करीब 60 बार तो देखी ही होगी, लेकिन हमेशा ताजा और नया ही लगता है । धर्मेन्द्र, अमिताभ और हेमा मालिनी इतने glamorous है कि आज के जमाने मे भी फीकी नही पडती, एक वजह यह भी हो सकता है ।

My elder uncle was the first person in our village to watch the Sholay movie, he used to narrate the story of the movie to the villagers, since then the word 'Sholay' was attached to his name, he was known as 'Magan Sholay'.
And
During the summer vacations of the 1980s and 1990s, when I used to visit my relatives, I used to listen to the audio cassette of a Sholay film in two parts for sure, in the days of VCRs when advance booking of a Sholay film video cassette during Ganeshotsav was charged at full price,that is also in my memory.

उस वक्त शोले की प्रति लोगों की ऐसी दीवानगी थी की होटलों और रेस्टोरेंट्स में जहां कहीं भी टेप रिकॉर्डर मैं शोले फिल्म की स्टोरी सुनाई देती थी तो लोगों का हुजूम लग जाता था । शोले फिल्म को को छोड़ो इसकी कैसेटे ही धूम मचा रही थी

दुसरे दिन न्यूज पेपर में पता चला कि एक व्यक्ति ने परेशान होकर टीवी फोड़ दी
शोले मूवी को थिएटर में न देख पाने का मलाल रहता था,इतनी शानदार फिलम है, शोले को कुछ साल पहले 3D में रिलीज़ किया गया था थिएटर्स में, तब मैं और मेरा एक दोस्त इसे देखने शीला सिनेमा रोहतक गए थे, बहोत यादगार अनुभव रहा मजा आ गया

Then we decided to watch so we guys collected 10rs from each and brought Black and white tv ,CD and watching it with whole villagers in an open ground.

Sholay released when I was in High School in Kerala. We didn't understand Hindi dialogue. One of our classmate whose father was working in North India and knew Hindi told the story after taking chocolates and other compliments from us. During class break no play but surround the boy and hear the story.
I have seen Sholay for 75 plus times and I had bought audio tape of dialogues which I used to hear regularly. I used to say all dialogues of the movie of all characters from first minute to last moment. Such was my craziness for this movie. Even today, I recite some dialogues of the movie in parties and people enjoy listening. Unforgettable contribution to the world of Cinema by the entire team. I have no words to appreciate each and everyone of the team.

This was the first ever movie which launched the entire movie in AUDIO FORMAT on 2 Long display discs which was played on record players and also on loud speakers etc.
Listening to those stereophonic LP s on an HMV stereo player with 2 speakers gave the same feel as if we were watching the movie ina hall.
Stereo players too were not very common those days and Gabbar singh Calling " ARE O SAMBA" came from the left speaker and JI SARDAAR from Samba coming from the right speaker: oh dear . There were no BOSE or SONY players in India in those days .
I must have seen the movie on Audio at least 30/40 times.
It was probably with first multitrack sterophonic audio.
Each and every musicle instument was audible crystal clear with excellent frequency response.👍

@@kabirkhatri9217 I think Dolby audio equipments were available by that time in market as we were in its business at that time, but I am not sure if sholay movie audio recording was through Dolby recorder, but surely it was mutitrack recording. Then afterwards Qurbani and Kala patthar movies audio tracks were recorded same way.
Sonodyne, Cosmic, Phillips +Woodstock Speakers were mostly in demand those days apart from Akai, Sony, Sankyo and Grounding which were foreign brands.

I saw SHOLAY at Plaza first day first morning show booked 2 tickets for me and for my brother but didn't allowed my brother, 1975 I was 19 and my brother was 15 he was very upset I asked him shall I go he said ok and he was waiting for me out side Plaza around 3 and half hours for me. After that we went to Kamal cinema theatre and arrange the tickets 3 to 6 show and I saw again . enjoy the movie twice in one day.

It was the first film I saw in my life with one of my class fellow in class four in 1976. We escaped from our school and saw it. I could tell all the dialogues from beginning to end. The marriage ceremony held in those days used to play songs on microphones. Big records were in demand to play the dialogues.

I saw this film with my10 college friends in RK 70 mm cinema in hyd in 1975 All of us sitting in front row seats@ ticket of 70 paise / seat this cinema built in late 60s by ntr still exists 2km where I live

Pls don't spread false narrative . This movie was released on 15th August 1975 . I watched it on 17th Aug . at Minerva cinema , Balcony Rs 10 was being sold for 50 rupees. It ran for 5 years at Minerva . Minerva was owned by FC Mehra and Shami Kapoor. Just because Minerva staff went on strike was the reason for stopping shows at Minerva.

Sholay did not work for 1st 2 weeks. It only got hit after release of LP dialogue record. I stayed very near to Minerva and could see the theater from my house. People use to sleep overnight near the advance booking window to book the tickets. I was in 7th class in a school next to Minerva theatre.

It's one of my favourite just like malgudi days in the making and Evey character , every inch of storyline keeps you connected and you feel the love , hate , drama in it.

Guide is a film worth seeing more often than Sholay . And no Indian actor or actress has reached the intensity of acting that Dev Anand reached in Guide .
One cannot forget Mera Gaon Mera Desh which came earlier - and Sholay's storyline has quite a bit of "inspiration" from that film (watch it to find out...).
That film also had Dharmendra - and Jayant, Amjad's dad!
But Sholay is Sholay - no questions - what a perfect storm of dialog, actors, acting...😀😀
