We achieved a great victory against the British here... Not only did we win but mercy was also shown by giving water to wounded soldiers lay dying on the battlefield... Kia Ora...

@@therapgame2685 It was a lady name Mihi who did that. Not all of our warriors were so keen to be feeding people who had just tried to steal their land. Her compassion is admirable tho

@@therapgame2685 many of these warriors were born again Christian from the teachings of early European missionaries. They weren’t savages as some would make out to be. Just fighting for their what was rightfully there’s.

This was an experience and a half. I was privileged enough to escort GG Mateparae, CDF GEN Tim Keating and an entorage of politicians including Dr Pita Sharples. Definitely felt the emotions of history rise this day. However the commemoration of Oraakau was even more significant for me as my tupuna Whenuanui and a band of Tuuhoe marched to Oraakau to support Rewi Maniapoto's fight against the colonial troops. Tamati Kruger gave an eloquent and stirring speech of the historical account of Tuuhoes involvement at Oraakau. Tamatis speech was supported by an emotional and vigorous Tuuhoe haka "Te Puuru". Composed by Whenuanui at the battle of Ooraakau. I will never forget that particular haka and commemoration. I was proud to be a part of that haka, performing, enmasse with my Tuuhoe whanau.

They sound like native americans, chirping and screaming with no sense at all, basically what are they trying to achieve to frighten everyone with random hysteria of making different kinds of noises most people don't usually make ?

This is so backward that these savages are organised like a war party and couldn't possibly win a fight with sticks
