The burbles in Sport + are worth the throttle jerkiness to me 😅

I've always used sports plus or equivalent on an M car. You do get used to just feathering it, I prefer it but maybe as I'm so used to it. I'm also in hardest gear setting and traction fully off on M2. But i do have comfort on steering and suspension. My M1 is eco, comfort, comfort auto and softest gear. So total opposites.

@@TimWilliamsHD as you have owned both if you had £25k to buy a M4 or M2 again what would you choose? For me it will be a daily but tracked a few times a year. I do have children but they are both old enough to not need car seats anymore so can get in and out I don’t want 4 door as I prefer smaller cars so m3 is out. I’m yet to test drive either as don’t want to waste sellers time as I won’t be ready until the end of feb. I’m looking for an unmodified example only thing I do want to do is the gts flashes. I have owned a e36 m3 3e46 m3 and drove a few e92 m3. I would love the e92 engine but feel that you have to be “on” it all the time to get the best where as the turbo suits my driving a bit more. Also the age of them is a bit much for me as I don’t have a garage.

@chisharpe3304 I’d take the m4 for the fact that it’s got more power and won’t need an extra tune to feel quick, n55 m2 is great but felt slow on track on the straights, stock m4 feels plenty quick .. other than that, driving wise they’ll feel very very similar

@chisharpe3304 I’m selling my m4 competition very close to your budget and it’s stock and well looked after. Let me know if you’re interested…

Is this meant to be informative?
Your complaining about M settings on a modified M4 with non stock suspension??
Also who doesn’t want a steering wheel that responds quickly to your impute?
C’mon fella, if you want soft suspension and lack luster handling just get a regular 4 series….don’t buy something designed for performance and moan about what it’s like on a uk road.

I drove my m4 stock for 5 months.
The throttle settings are shocking and dampers are shocking for both road and track
Really don’t want a steering with artificial feel, trying take a corner at 50mph on track with sports plus and you’ll see it’s far too sensitive..not asking for soft suspension at all, simply saying too many settings isn’t a good thing especially when 80% of drivers don’t use certain modes..have a look online at track drivers and all of these car journalists you’ll see they use comfort steering due to a natural feel of the steering without the weight, my m2 og steering felt better than my m4 as it had less settings to play with when I had traction fully off..it removes the need to know what mode to pick and one button was all you needed..

@@TimWilliamsHD I own a M4 too so I do know what they drive like. I wouldn’t describe the stock setup as shocking at all. It’s a hard ride, and yes you could argue that the comfort setting is a contradiction in terms, but like I’ve said. It’s a performance car. Great handling doesn’t come from soft suspension. BMW have a reputation for delivering some of the best handling cars money can buy, yet you’re basically saying that’s rubbish.
And regardless of road or track, if I turn the wheel I want it to react straight away. Front end grip and a little slip at the rear.
These settings are there for individuals to set the car up as they want. I don’t see that as a criticism. 80 % of drivers don’t use certain modes, but then there’s a lot of people driving these cars who can only go fast in a straight line.
At the end of the day it’s no hardship to press a button, as long as there’s a setting that suits your driving style, then surely it doesn’t matter.
