Thanks for sharing with us Chris, great job on the serving platter, looks awesome. Fred.🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👋👋
Thanks!
Interesting hatchet ... looks more like a halberd. The wood structure is amazing !! Well, and of course, how not to get hungry after such work !! Bon Appetit Chris!!
Thanks!
Wow, I'll say amazing job,but i believe "wow" is most accurate.
Thanks!!
That sure looks good!
Thanks!
Awesome idea and board
Thanks!
Very nice.
👍🏻
Work is outstanding, were you using a metal mallet to hit your hatchet? A nice wooden mallet would be easier on the head of the ax.
Thanks and agree with your feedback.
If I spend my life on becoming half as talented as you I will die happy
I am honored! Thank you!
I like the juxtaposition. The tray is rustic and natural whereas the handles are even, symmetrical, and refined.
Thanks!
That’s the best, most unique tray I’ve ever seen! Bravo!🤗❤️🐝
Thanks!
@@ChopWithChris You’re most welcome🤗🐝❤️

Awesome and beautiful! Thank you
You are most welcome!
You still inspired me
Thank you!
Chris great piece.you are a master of what you do
Thanks!
Chris, love the cherry - pretty piece. Are all the logs in your backyard?!
Love, the "other" Magnesses
I wish they were! Its a secret spot I have permission to use.
First one here!!!! Yes!!!
Nice!
Another masterpiece!
Thanks!
Nice video, Chris.
The bowl looks very nice. 👍🏻💪🏻
I believe the saying on your t-shirt, I'll put it on a t-shirt too. 😁
Where you've worked the inside of the shell with a chisel and a polyurethane hammer, you're missing a short hand adze. You did the preparatory work with a "normal" adze, the coopers had the coopers (barrel makers) or the people who made the troughs.
Thanks for the feedback. I do have a small adze but I like the control of the large chisel. Chris
Прям как женщину ласкал! ;)
:)
👏👏
Thanks!
A couple of things: first, great to see you back....your work as always is outstanding; the pile of cherry logs is worth its weight in gold; will the end project check or crack....and finally, best wishes and good health.
Thank you. I was sure to dry it slowly to prevent cracking.
What are you wearing around your forearms ?
I have some issues with my tendons when I‘m carving or chopping wood.
Could these straps help me?
Greets from Turkey
They are “tennis elbow” bands. They really take the pressure and abuse off of your elbows.
Thank you very much, Sir.
Hope I can get some and give it a try.
Look honey, I made you a charcuterie board. Sorry about the hand towels. 😂
Ha ha ha!
Very disappointed in you Chris using modern day latex gloves, could you have not hand made a pair from buffalo intestines? Great build 👏🏻👍🏻
I’ll get to work on some immediately! 💪
2nd! (means nothing)
I still appreciate it!
@@ChopWithChris thanks dude. Great work and I'm inspired to do the same thing one day
Were showing him who the true fans are...lol
For sure!
When I started watching this, honestly, I had no clue what that word meant.
I didn’t either until my daughter told me😄
Why bother to clean the bottom part if you have to split it off later?
I was not sure how this was going to turn out.
++++
👍🏻
so serious. and so many ridiculously big and unhandy bad sharpened axes...
I’ll keep trying.
@@ChopWithChris sry buddy, but looks like wrong sharpening angle or lenticular cutting edge. at low angles the axe tends to leave the tree. can you shave with your axe after sharpening?
No worries at all. I really do have a lot to learn and I appreciate the critique. Any idea where I can find information on axe sharpening angles based on use case?
@@ChopWithChris Well, I watched more of your videos and have a couple of comments.
You have strong hands and good accuracy and I understand your love for big axes. But most of your axes are too heavy for your job.
And I called them inconvenient for these reasons:
Axes with a wide, straight blade are good for meat or execution, but not for wood. The wood is made straight from precise hit and not from a straight blade.
Straight handle - suitable for felling and splitting wood, but not for carpentry.
An imaginary line extending the blade at the axe for precision work must intersect with the end of the handle. it is ergonomic and comfortable. Axes with a blade parallel to the handle - for young scouts and weekend tourists.
In terms of shape and weight, try 2 axe. if you look at examples on Amazon, the first as "Adler Canoe Axe" and the second as "Hults Bruk Almike Small All Purpose Hatchet". They will cover 90% + of your needs, and the rest of the axes will decorate your walls(and some tests) beautifully. And some rare cases you want small hatchet with straight blade.
Usable angle of sharpening from 30 to small hatchet up to 35 for biggest. Best radius of blade rounding - 30cm(draw a circle and place axe to check). For careful work i use hatchet with 25 angle but is up to you. If you not expirienced with sharpening try to use angle setting tools or sharpeners with angle setting. your grinding wheel with pedals - is not good. A good sharpened axe must can shave.
Thank you!
