Really interesting to see the evolution of game coding... I think FIFA 12 was the landmark change in terms of modern graphics.
I don't know why, but when you score a long range goal in fifa 05-08, it's so much more satisfying than in newer releases of the game.

I remember playing FIFA 05 every Saturday mourning on my Gamecube before i would go to my soccer matches, i would always kiss my fist like Thierry Henry use to when he score a goal.

ive been playing fifa since 94 and I gotta say by far the Biggest change was between 2007 - 2008. I dont mean just graphics but I mean thats when the game play finally became really sophisticated... on the first ps3 engine. The game engine and controls of the game, with addition of skill moves in 2008 are very much the basis of the current game we play. And that is when fifa took the crown back from PES, which was dominated when it was even ISS
I use to always score long shots from the middle 1/3 of the pitch with various players, but Rooney, Schweinsteiger, Lampard, S. Gerard and Villa had super human long shots. I have only scored 1 long shot Since FIFA 15 came out. Much more realistic therefor difficult

tbh, I would say FIFA 3-FIFA 16 was the Modern Era of FIFA and FIFA 17-18 now is the Realistic era.
