- In today's video, I put 3 more upgrades on the Sandyland! I put on a set of oil filled shocks for better handling, a fan to keep the motor cold, and some more metal gears for extra strength. These are really great upgrades that help the performance a lot! Enjoy!

I have a suggestion, if the motor still overheats try a heatsink with a fan it wil dissipate the heat faster
You can also install wheel bearings on the Sandy Land. It comes with bushings from the factory. Each wheel takes two 6x10x3 bearings. It's a huge improvement over stock.

Nice vid! Although I heard in a Facebook group that putting canola oil in shocks can destroy them not sure if that's true or not but having some shock oil around would be good to have. Looking forward to the next vid 👍

Do you know of any good ones? I’ve been in the market for a cheap crawler for a little while.
Just tore apart my deerc 300E (factory upgraded sandyland.) And it has the same metal differential. The oil filled shocks had no oil however and leaked when I filled them. Metal bearings though. I just need to get your shocks then a 3s battery and fan. I complained about the shocks not holding oil and the company is sending me a new truck free of charge.

Been watching the sandyland videos for a while now and I’m wondering if you can just zip tie the fan onto the motor
I don’t think so. It’d most likely fall off, and possibly yank the motor weirdly if it got snagged. If you can’t 3D print a mount though, you probably could zip tie it to the chassis brace in the middle.
U should upgrade the deerc 16889 rc car next it’s pretty similar it’s just a 1:16 scale I believe

They’ve been working awesome for me! They are pretty big, so I had to make a custom Velcro hold down to keep them in, but they work great.

Honestly, you’re probably better off upgrading the motor first. I’ve heard from people who have geared their cars up, and they’ve found that it usually doesn’t go any faster because it overloads the motor.

They’re pretty easy to put on. You just have to unscrew the screws at the top and bottom of the shocks.

I got to say Rc as you Can you do a lift kit on that RC
So, I put in my new metal diffs for this car, i noticed that it was making a horrible grinding noise and slowed the car down tremendously, i took the whole car apart inside out, I even put in the old diffs and it still grinds, I cannot find the problem! Did you ever have this problem? It may be a stripped tooth on a gear or something, I forgot to check that.
There’s a few possible causes. Probably the most likely one is the little bevel gear that spins the differential has broken. It’s plastic, and in my experience can lose a tooth or two. It’s really hard to see the damage sometimes, (because it can take off just the tops of the teeth) but it makes a grinding noise.
It’s also possible that it’s the pinion. If you used a different pinion gear for the aftermarket motor, it might be slightly too big or small.
It could also be the metal gears themselves. If you didn’t add grease, they could make some noise. I don’t think this is it though because the noise didn’t go away when you took metal gears out.

Yep, so i looked a bit harder and i saw that the pinions that make the diff drive, are totally gone 🤦♂️

What channel do you put it on the receiver when using the fan

It has so far! It’s only been in for a few days though... I’ll have to do a bit more testing with it.
I just got my fan but I unfortunately do not have a 3d printer to create a mounted area for my fan. Any suggestions you may have to place the fan?
There are a couple options. The easiest one would be to mount it in the same spot just without a mount. You could probably run zip ties through the screw holes to attach it to the top deck, and you might even be able to run a zip tie under the motor too! Just make sure you don't tighten it on the driveshaft.
Another option (Pretty similar to the first one) would be to hot glue the corner of it to the top deck. Either one of those would hold it over the motor. You could in theory also glue it to the motor, but you should only use a small amount of glue if you do that to avoid damaging the motor.
Alternatively, you could cut out/bend some plastic to make a little mount. That would give the fan some extra stability, and possibly hold it at a better angle.
If you want to use a proper 3D printed mount, there are companies that will 3D print parts and mail them to you!

How do you wire up the fan
It has a wire like the ESC and servo that just plugs into the receiver. It won’t work with the stock box though.
Whr u get ur tires from for 9300? What's the hex size in the bk of the tires.
I got mine at the hobby shop. They have a 12 mm hex.

The deerc 9300 is the same car just with a different shell. I don’t know about the 9310, but if it’s the same, then yes.

Another upgrade you might be able to is an upgrade on the pinion. There are 2 different pinion that pxtoys uses. There's a 14 and 17 tooth.

PX9300-34B is the 14 tooth and PX9300-34C is the 17 tooth pinion.
How do I set the gear mesh with a different size gear? It only has the one slot for the motor.
I haven't done it myself, but the motor can mount 2 different ways. If you flip it one way, the gap between the motor and spur is smaller. Then, if you flip it over, the gap is bigger.
Not my picture, but someone bought the upgraded motor and this is the old vs new motor. He installed it, and it fits.
