Flat Out 1 & 2 have the most realistic crash damage I have ever seen in a game. They also did a masterful job with all the driving physics. I have never seen another game since this make a more realistic driving game than this.
yes ur absolutely right ,just look at @6:31 how car suspensions compress when car tire touches to the ground after car jumped ,no single micro delay has seen ,very accurate ,highly realistic thats to back in 2004 wowwww
@@Drprashantsagar When you tear off your front end you can actuially see the fan blades spinning on the motor. That is how much detail they put into the cars here. I still have never played another game with a damage model better than this.
Brings back a lot of memory’s. I remember going to my friends house right after school just to play this game with him. Good times... Too bad my parents couldn’t afford to buy me one. He even had Rock Band! I just sent him this video; hopefully he remembers haha.
Reminds me of times as a teen staying with my best friend and his dad at a lake resort for 2 weeks in a condo back in 2005. I remember it decent because of renting Flatout fot Ps2 with a few other games. We also brought a spendal of dvds' to watch.😂 We also played alot of ATV Offroad Fury. Roadkill was also a legendary game. At the "Midwest Resort" We would fish, swim, and do some of the posted daily acitivies(basketball, bingo, horsehoes, pumpkin carving, etc ( seasonal stuff too) Anyways....but half the time we played Ps2 😂😂.. His dad played with us too. Something about splitscreen gaming was amazing. We even brought our own 32 tv because we knew there was only a super small tv that was from probably 1998 lol. We had no cell phones... we really didnt have a care in the world. Fun times and all we ever wanted was to move out and start our own life like any teenager... 😢
Ordered this game off amazon, getting it tomorrow. Can't wait to play as I've never played the first one. But as a kid I played the shit out of flatout ultimate carnage, now I have that game on steam.
So...I remember a dirt track racing game similar to this. I thought this was it, but after watching I don't think its what I had in mind... What other games were out during this time, similar to this? Any ideas?
Wow, even though this game came out in the same year as Burnout 3 Takedown (even later in the month), the graphics are worse. But the graphics of the PC version of this game are better than the Ps2 version.
@@naidedossantos500 If you are talking about the difference between the PC and Ps2 versions of Flatout 1; The PC version of Flatout 1 has better texture quality than the Ps2 version. It also has higher resolution. It seems that the motion blur in the Ps2 version is due to the low resolution. Although Burnout 3 Takedown is only on Ps2, it has better graphics than both the Ps2 and PC versions of Flatout 1. (Burnout 3 Takedown has real motion blur) But in conclusion, both game series are great in their own way.
This game incorporated things a lot of new racing games still struggle with in 2019!

BeamNG?... But yes, this was a great game.
Try to play Wreckfest.

I have this FlatOut (2004) in PC version.
It is the best FlatOut, beautifully rendered in 1920x1200 resolution on my monitor.
Still play it in 2020. 😊
This is my favorite game of all time!
