I think marine is balanced between lewd and funny in her content. She is horny but she is able to utilize that in her music (treasure box) and funny banter with pekora.
@@fwiffo I see the confusion in this, but in fairness I think when he had Zen on stream, he was actively making the distinction between "fanservice" as a sometimes thing, and coomerbaiting as the cornerstone of your content
No, Shoto's not lesbian LMAO. he's bi.but I shouldve used a more appropriate example (esp since most vtubers are lesbians or pretend to be at this point). But yeah i agree w everyone if the political content is actually thought-out and doesn't come out as preachy or grandstanding
You kinda honestly need to work on your wording Like how you did on the Ame video Dont rush in the content if it means being careful what you say Dont pull a game company in releasing broken games then apologizing and fixing it Be better than this
I didn't even know Vtweeters were considered a trope. This is why gatekeeping a community isn't inherently bad. Thanks Nousagi, very cool. Not gonna lie, I was expecting things like "kuudere vtubers", as the only noteable person who came anything near that would be Jitomi Monoe.
Personally, I’m not a fan of overly horny/degen Vtubers. This is primarily why Hololive is my ‘bread and butter’. Of course some of them do embody these aspects to a certain degree, however said aspects only defines a small portion of their overall character. For example, people who’ve only seen Marine in ‘out of context clips’ get turned off because they assume her entire personality is the aforementioned aspects. However, she’s easily one of the most charismatic and talented entertainers in the Vtubing industry. Another thing I love about Hololive is that they have a respectable level of professionalism, from the way they present themselves, to the content they make.
I feel this same way, which is why I actually prefer a more idolish culture for vtubers to an extent. I'm not sure if it's because of Hololive rules or just because they hire people who don't want to participate in that stuff in the first place, but it's very rare to find any sexual aspects going beyond just silliness. Honestly, I really like it when it's a silly type of dirty humor, because that shows purity in of itself. It's not to be sexual, but to have a little fun. I've tried watching vtubers from some other agencies and I've just heard them say some seriously vulgar stuff. I'd really rather not hear vtubers talk about their certain habits seriously... The only vtuber I enjoy outside of Hololive is Pippa, but to be fair, I've avoided certain big agencies because of stuff I've seen and I know there are some greats that I'm probably missing out on.
marine is a special case. she's wise and does give some interesting and decent advice every now and then and IS talented. she uses horny as just a hook to get people in then hit em with skill and wisdom.
@@fwiffo Well that and the TTS voice does make you take that whole 'coomerbait' impression less seriously and make you realize more that she is just in it for the comedy manly but that's just me.
@@fwiffo Kson? Is she even a vtuber now? Last time I saw a clip about her groping and kissing AV actress ON stream. Isn't that just generic Ethot material?
@@fwiffo so she can be considered coomerbaiting yes? FYI I don't hate her or anything. She can do whatever she want. For me personally I rather watch porn/hentai than any of that.
Id say those "vtubers" that criticize others for their likes but end up being hypocrites themselves are the worst. They give actual great vtubers a bad reputation.
@@DawnAfternoon I think there are plenty of things that aren't political, unless you overanalyze. That aside there two clear types of something being "political", the first being something like "Morrowind has slavery against the beast races, this is to add nuance and depth to the world" "This game's big bad is literally the president in a real world country" One makes you think, the other demands you agree, generally.
@@VortexVoyager00 I wish I could say you're right. But in my time on Twitch, I made 90% of my own clips. Now that I've migrated my streams over here, viewers can't make clips the same way as on Twitch, so nothing has changed. Lol Being naturally calm and collected inherently creates less moments that the majority of vtuber watchers would clip or even care to watch. Generally, the most clippable moments are when the calm composure cracks, which will always be few and far between. And if there aren't enough people watching the streams, then some of those moments will be missed and won't even get clipped in the first place.
If a person has “lewdtuber” “pre debut/hiatus arc” and 🔞+ in their Twitter name, they’re probably the worst kinds of people to encounter online. It’s like the poison dart frog openly advertising how toxic they are.
wow way to put ppl that just create different content that you might not like into a box.. same could be said for ppl that identify as vtubers in general
I think its because you just don't find many who meet the necessary conditions to make it work, but educational vtubers are a type that probably isn't too marketable, which is honestly a bit of a shame. Imagine some Vtuber whose whole shtick is teaching, say, young children in japan how to speak and write in English? At most I've seen a Vtuber whos whole gimmick was teaching voice acting via imitation, but someone with proper primary educational value to offer could be an untapped market
It is also because those vtubers don't commit hard enough Does Ina still do drawing teaching streams or not? I haven't watched her for a year or so. Let's see if Shiori can bring some good educational streams
@@EdyAlbertoMSGT3 Many people have “teaching” streams though but that isnt Fuwamocos gimmick. If anything its closer to what Shipris gimmick is. Shes kind of a comfy streamer too
I used to watch a guy do VRchat videos before Vtubing was popular… The. He called trump fans racist so I based everyone’s personality on him because he couldn’t help himself.
Because people can't stop making politics their personality and using it as an excuse to "prove" they're better than everyone else. So the same reasons why people bring politics into any other conversation really
this is why I would never be a leftist or communist because it's mostly them who are bringing that sh*t up in any space. Most of political vtubers are from that side
My least favorite kinds of VTubers are the ones whos entire personality is just sex. Sex jokes are fine if done and timed well, but if your first tweet is a bondage joke and a really unfunny one at that, I'm already not a fa- what do you mean that's one of the new Niji EN boy's first ever tweet?! I remember when Yugo was like the first ever EN member to finally say that the bottom jokes were never funny. Absolute chad. We need more people to tell it like it is like him.
I think this rings true for anyone with a one-dimensional personality. The coomer vtubers (and vtweeters) are the obvious ones, but there are others who are only one-trick ponies and they are just as obnoxious. Good for maybe seeing once or twice if their thing is within your realm of interests, but they have 0 staying power. So don't expect them to stick around if they stay on the same track
Never knew Yugo was like that. He didn't like bottom jokes. Explains why I didn't see him in clips and was legit surprised when I learned he was NijiEN during a stream collab. NijiEN lost a good singer and a person with a good moral compass, I guess.
I've grown so tired of "Boob Creep" as I've come to call it: the tendency for some vtuber models to continually bump up the bust size. I believe it was Minato Aqua who had an ongoing joke that her artists kept incrementally increasing her bust size, but the main culprits(that I've personally noticed) are mostly EN indies and a handful of agency vtubers whos models just amount to booba for attention. Zentraya's a prime example, and that one feels especially baity. By no means am I a prude, I just don't care for boob creep.
Reminds me of RWBY--Yang used to be the busty one and she stood out as being flaunty. Now all the girls have double or triple D's and ironically none of them stand out as busty anymore.
Least favourite trope myself is the GFE/BFE Vtuber. I don't hate the content I just hate the kind of people it appeals to. Not only does it create a delusion in a bunch of people's minds that you are their significant other but it puts that Vtuber at risk, and on a certain level you have to blame them for it, because you know what you're getting into when you do it, you should expect backlash from these idiots if you get found out to have a significant other irl. Like you only put yourself in danger, don't do GFE/BFE if you have a SO already for your own benefit. I might get hate for this, but it's the stance I'm sticking with.
I had no beef with Rushia but honestly she set herself up for such a tragic fall from grace Not helping how she herself is reckless and not well put together psychologically speaking It really is just best to take therapy and never trusting backstabbing snakes called drama channels
V tweeters are the worst. bro never liked them when they were mad at calli because she got in hololive and saying she never worked for what for what she got. Calli diss them all that tweeting but your not trying to put out content.
@@navarel9892 It's impossible to doxx Calli because she never hide her identity, she even gave a hint on one of he first song i don't remember the actual one but i ends with the sound of dices being thrown, so yeah not really subtle.
I like funni lewd jokes from time to time, its like chocolates. You're fine with maybe one every couple hours or so, but 3 every living second is just desaturating the joke. Jokes need timing and precision with the moment, you can't just go dumping jokes about your degen habits every nanosecond
I personally don’t like the “edgy” Vtubers. Like, their aesthetic is something like a demon or a god of pure evil and they play into it 24/7. A lot of times they’ll use it as an excuse to be rude to other Vtubers they interact with and generally spread negative vibes. It usually gets to a point where I couldn’t tell you anything about their personality beyond the character they play
Comfy Vtubers are really hard to pull off, but if one managed to do it he/she will have loyal followers on every stream. Kinda agree with them being the least performing member in a gen. However, this does not apply to Cover Corp talents. Take Ina for an example, she is a famous comfy Vtuber and yet she can pull her own weight when it comes idol works.
I concur. I have a very small community and only 1-3 consistent viewers, but they were so loyal that they didn't hesitate to support me in migrating my streaming from Twitch to RUclips and they still watch my streams. Though, I've also seen female peers (who started around the same time or after me and vary from PG to 18+) who have a very loyal set of viewer but also have 3-5 times more average views than I've ever peaked at. So, I think there are multiple ways to gain loyal fans.
Tbh, "performing" is a vague metric. Comfy vtubers might not have the high amount of sub count or viewership as a comedian, but their staying power is insane. I'd say their ability to keep fans loyal is actually among the highest in the industry. Those few fans you see on their stream? They will follow them no matter what, because as Depressed Nousagi said, people are usually reluctant to come out of their comfort zone. And if they're confortable with a vtuber, that's where they stay. Plus, it also helps that comfy vtubers are, by their very nature, less prone to drama.
I’m in agreement with your point on Vtweeters. At the end of the day, people want to be entertained. Sure, you can put some political views into your content, but if your idea of entertainment is dogmatism and badgering, then you aren’t a VTuber.
People are fine with political commentary but they don't like to be preached to and don't like their entertainment to become propaganda. And especially not when the statement are hostile to them. Such as that one who openly declared disdain for men.
Vtuber trope I strongly dislike - "The Incompetent". Airheads, screwups, failwives, general wrecks of people. A bit is fine and when it's played up a bit it can be great comedy. Some great examples are Miko and Bettel. If balanced correctly, the vtuber can foster a feeling of "must protecc" in their viewers, but if the entire character is "Can't do anything right, ever" it stops being funny and crosses into the realm of just being sad and pathetic. Like this person needs constant supervision otherwise they'd set their house on fire and die before the week is out. A key giveaway of this trope being done incorrectly is the vtuber constantly stating outright "haha I am so bad at this" or "omg I'm pathetic", which either means they have terrible self confidence or they are forcing the character trope too hard. It's okay to not be brilliant at everything, but good streamers have to be good at SOME things. Being bad at everything - especially forced and done on purpose - is just embarrassing to watch
Especially for cooking, something most vtubers are horrible at. I refuse to believe that they're all terrible cooks and would eat bread sprouting mold without issue. Shoutout to Hakka from Holostars EN who does some amazing Mexican cooking streams
@@FuMiO02110 I cannot even think of individual examples, to me it looks like a de-facto standard. Like 70% of occasional cooking streams are messy havoc (which is good for views). Even literal chef vtuber OniGiri is suffering from this problem. Her chat is most excited when she accidentally ruins food, which might push her to do it more.
@@zarbis Oh so you leaning towards the realm that I'm not really knowledgeable...but yeah I think I watch her clip sometimes, tho I like her Collab with Ollie
The "comfy" chuuba debuff doesn't just apply to those who have that as their big shtick, it also applies to all chuubas of other genres just having calm or wholesome moments. Imma bring up Kiara because she's pointed this out herself before, but she's not super crazy/horny/wacky all the time or even most of the time. Ask any longtime KFP and there's a good chance that their favorite part of her streams is where she's just shooting the shit with her chat or going on some 30-minute tangent on a whim. But usually those aren't parts that get clipped, and if they do then those clips aren't usually ones that get a lot of traction. Clipwatchers will almost never see Kiara's calm side unless the clickbait interests them enough to check out the full streams themselves. And people looking for comfy might never find it from Kiara because they were dissuaded by bombastic clips of her, even though she and her content have plenty to spare.
I definitely dislike the boyfriend/girlfriend experience vtubers. The moment you watch one unless you're loner who wants a partner so bad, you will be left out and feel uncomfortable. It's just amusing to see how their community reacts to whatever they say, they look like obedient pets.
I have two. *This one's a bit of a peeve:* VTubers who are somehow _always_ there in any given collab, be it via chat or discord call. They have the tendency to chime in on every conversation, especially if their name is mentioned ever so briefly within moments. *The "bad" character:* These types always try to one up whoever they're involved with, whether the latter is okay with it or not. They would drop their act & are audibly upset the moment they are given the same unwarranted treatment, be it by their chat or others they collab. *TL;DR:* • That one "friend" you can never shake off, who always have the need to be included in any given event, big or small. • The gaslighter/bully who can't handle the reverse Uno card/taste of their own medicine.
4:15 I really feel the underperformance factor in this, sometimes. Without a bombastic or titillating avatar and personality, those of us on the calmer and more mature (the true sense of maturity, not the common definition of crassness or explicitness) struggle to be seen without the marketing reach of a sizeable agency. Based on the feedback of others, I know that strengths of mine include my voice, my calming presence, how knowledgeable I am, how well I can verbally convey my thoughts or knowledge, my conversationalist skills (particularly in one-on-one conversation), my general speaking skills, and my gaming skills to some extent and in certain games/genres. So, I try to leverage those strengths in discussion content and in the selection of games I feature. And those who do come by regularly really enjoy my vibes, streams, and other content. Especially moments where something unexpected happens in-game or in scuff, causing my calm and controlled demeanor or crack as I react in the moment. But I can't help but see how those are traits that, while enjoyable to my viewers, aren't as suited to making clippable moments and aren't as attention grabbing at a surface-level glimpse like a busty avatar or financially-backed art and thumbnails are. There is a very real debuff from being more chill, expressly SFW by my nature and in being genuine, and in simply being a man with a non-thirst trap male avatar. It also doesn't help that there are so few resources or even mere discussions on how to grow as either a male vtuber or SFW/All Ages vtuber, much less as both simultaneously, and all the advice I've seen are geared more towards female vtubers. Which leaves no direction for those of us men who don't want to be a fujo-baiting, BFE, flirtatious, 'daddy-voice', ikeman pretty boy who draws in male-attracted simps and parasocial nutjobs. Make no mistake, I'm not whining and crying, though. Just stating the facts as I see them, as one must acknowledge the aspects of a problem in order to be able to work out a solution. I'm confident that, with more visibility, I would be able to reach the sizeable All Ages audience with what I have to offer (which differs from vtuber convention and trends) and with what I COULD offer if I ever get to a state where my content makes money that I could use to improve my content and afford to put more time into it instead of my day job. The hard part is attaining that visibility in the first place, and there's next to no help in that.
I find it now kinda hilarious that when Advent was first teased, I thought Shiori will be "I can fix her" menhera character and the powerhouse. In the end she is more of a comfy dork among the rest (mommy, meme kusogaki and doggos). Anyway tropes I hate the most are "stupid" or "fakely innocent" vtubers who present playing dumb as funny. It is funny if it is used once or sometimes but if they base their characters around it, I do not like it. Also, definitely I am not fan of coomer catering vtubers also.
This video is going to get clipped out of context with the title of the video next to it & get posted all over Twitter. Remember us when you're "canceled" again.
Any vtuber that does the GFE or BFE stuff. If Rushia didn't make it anymore obvious how bad it can get, then the rest of the GFE only vtubers can show just how bad it gets
@@xnonsense5171 Just because they make a lot of money doesn't make it good Extreme example, selling drugs to vulnerable people or murdering people for big money. I get payed a lotta dosh, but that doesn't make it good Rushia's case was the worst purely because she may actually have a mental illness, which a GFE thing does not help with, rather, it makes the mental illness worse
I believe another thing vtubers must know is that comfy ≠ quiet and barely speaking. Its not necessarily bad to be comfy but what people really look for is a vibe or something relatable about a streamer that makes a connection. And you can't do that if you're hardly speaking. And yes, speak even if your chat isn't very active!
Is there a trope for fake naivety? When a Vtuber is regularly doing or saying things that are 'horny' and pretending they don't understand why everybody is making a big deal out of it. It's one of those things that feels incredibly... corporate. Like somebody sat down with their agency and asked, "What can I do to make myself meme material?"

For a vtuber to be political, it would have to be _entirely_ politically oriented, and not entertainment oriented. And since an animated avatar like that is, by principle, for entertainment, that in itself defeats the purpose.
@@nathanael9159Watch " The Thick of it" or Yes Minister and get back to me. BTW, the separation of politics and entertainment was actually pushed for by politicians. If you brain wash people into thinking that talking about politics is not normal, fewer people will want to get involved in the judicial process, and they will be more easy to control as a voter base.
I hate the dismissive types. The ones who will, on day one, say the lore is bullshit and basically just act like every other streamer but with an anime avatar. Doubly so if they hate anime and video games.
As a content creator myself, I feel like it's impossible to mix comedy and politics. VTubers who talk about politics are more out of touch than Elon Musk
i think the only way is if its your exclusive content (ie jreg). Comedy likers generally dont like politics and political people want people to take it seriously
Satire is a thing for a reason and um BoiBoi is a thing. You can do it. Politics are ussually pretty wacky so its actually pretty easy to joke about, but it will also always garner people who get triggred no matter your direction and thats why Politics are undesirable for most vtubers.
It is pretty much possible! Just be a Russian. I'm from Russia, and political jokes are a staple of our humour. Especially if they are targeted not against random politics, but against a specific politically-oriented side you don't like (or whomever acts the most moronic of them all, for example, Russian opposition)
@@Ajoura I agree with this although for a country like America, making fun of one side will garner a lot of hate. If I made fun of both Republicans and Democrats(2 of the biggest parties here), then they will be angry and accused me of supporting the other party. Hell, even support or opposing a cause that either party will support will also lead to such accusations. If I supported the 2nd Amendment(right to own guns and other weapons), then I would be called a Republican or a fascist even if I owned weapons either for self defense, hunting or simply for having a personal collection. If you support having some form of a welfare state or expanding social programs, you would be called a democrat or a socialist. Many people have dynamic views so they wouldn't fit the the 2 party system. That's why I normally keep politics away from most forms of entertainment. It turns into brainrot
I might be a little odd. I listen to a lot of asmr, some of it in place of video game bgm while grinding and progging raids, so I actively seek out asmr vtubers (and normal streamers) who are new to me. I would consider most of them comfy vtubers, even though a majority of their content is playing games or other stuff. They only put out a couple asmr streams per week or month, so I run out of "new" content with them and am forced to find more. I'm curious your take on asmr streamers in general and as part of vtubing, as I had no idea that asmr existed until about a year ago when one of my favorite clip baits posted a stream and I enjoyed it.
Either it is political for a vtuber to be gay, bi and straight or that all isn't, sexuality is a natural state of being, either its all political or none of it is.
Depends, it's one thing to simply be gay for example, but it's another if it's front and center in your stream, especially if you're using the LBGTQ+ tag and whatnot.
The content creater in general that I don't watch are politic, drama baiter, screamer, horny and coomer baiter, they are too annoying for me to even stay as background
Hmm does project melody count as coomer bait, at leas her NSFW work? I'd think I'd be a fan if the tech for vtuber models improved further in that space, hopefully closing the gap in quality between motion captured 3D porn ala Vtuber models and animated/drawn hentai. I have no qualms about lacking class, the problem right now is the lack of quality in coomerbait motion captured vtuber hentai.
I mean, it is true that she literally does porn but a lot of her appeal as a Vtuber is actually outside of lewd stuff. A common joke about her is how she is actually really wholesome as a person despite being a literal camgirl.
@@gokbay3057 Ok, so if Melody has appeal outside of porn, but say people also value her for her porn, would it be accurate to say that Project Melody is also, but not limited to, coomerbait?
I mostly try to stay away from politics, it's already divisive enough as is but with a lot of the people that dabble in it being so tribalistic and (apparently) incapable of nuance it really makes me want to avoid it like a plague
I'm not buying into "I'm not your boyfriend/girlfriend type, but I will be sooo parasocial with my audience that any interaction with others content creators will make my audience mad", this is why I'm not anyone into lewdtubers. I would rather watch chaotic comedian vtuber, than someone who would act like a boyfriend/girlfriend with an audience.
I kind of disagree with your statement that some VTubers being gay or lesbian is political. Don’t get me wrong, it can be made political, either by the fans or the VTubers themselves, but the fact of the matter is that being LGBT in and of itself isn’t political. It’s a trait (in this case one’s sexual orientation and identity), one among many that makes one who they are. These traits don’t really define us anymore than the color of one’s skin or one’s ancestry. They are just a small part of who they are, and not exactly a big deal unless someone makes it a big deal.
The worst part about people who think vtubers should use their platform to talk politics is that they don't even want genuine discussion about important issues, they just want them to parrot their own beliefs so that they feel validated. They are the poster children of insecurity and are a prime example of why communities need some amount of gatekeeping.
I’d say the former is a branch off from the Political Vtweeter, but the “Unironic Communist” and “VMisandrist” are ones that’s been popping up more frequently It’s one things to joke about Hitler/Stalin/etc. and another to commission artists to show Communist Dictators giving you a Medal of Honor despite their country having suffered the effects of communism (yes a real Vtuber did that and they’ve protected their account since 😑) As for the VMisandrist, it speaks for itself. The misandrist who comes into the community and outright blames everything on male Vtubers the moment one makes a mistake, bonus points if they thrown in the loli = pedo argument before or soon after. It’s a broken record by this point, but if the genders were reversed you know big Vtubers would defend the girls more than they’ve already done for the guys 😑 not saying that guys are saints either (after all not all men but always men didn’t spawn out of nowhere cause of those who ruin it for everyone) but they’ll just go into schizo mode and double down like a idiot child when called out (lest we forget the “horny bat” incident 💀)
As a Russian, I like those Unironic Communists from democratic countries with functioning court systems and tangible ways to affect government decisions. They make me chuckle every time :)
Its not just Vtubers but people who play games or react to things but don't pay attention to the content but just 90% interact with the chat on streams, I feel they should just do a chatting stream.

A vtuber trope that I absolutely hate with all my being is: The Parasocial exploiter The ones who make girlfriend experience but never has a time they say its enough, they genuinely wants you to always be in love with them and incentivize complete obsession of you with them while selling a lot of "love merch". They usually make a lot of money with the parasocialism, but their fanbase tends to be full with mentally unstable and jaelous people as consequence, the more they manipulate their fans to be obsessive to them, the more their fanbase give money to them, and the more mentally unstable and dangerous the fanbase of said Vtuber gets. This trope does absurdly well in making money, even if they do happen to get low visibility, the recurrent viewers are way more likely to donate way more than the average viewer of a regular Vtuber. The reason I hate this trope is because it exploits loneliness and mental illness from the fans to make money out of them, they disregard the consequences that they can be given to the mental health of their fans, and it is even worse when they don't set limits and just try to invoke that parasocialism as much as possible.
Yanderes For a community that disdains a fan hoping for something special with their oshi, yandere behaviour is weirdly accepted. There shouldn't be no character that requires you to "act" crazy for the people you don't care about. That's why I love vtubers that communicates like an idol or entertainer. Appreciate your fans vocally and you wouldn't need to hook them with manipulation. I'm a veteran Pekora fan so I watched the destruction of Rushia community firsthand.
My thoughts on the three categories presented: 1. I don't think people usually do this on purpose, unless they're doing it solely for attention. I just feel that people use their branding account as their personal, and then it gets out of hand from there. 2. It's true that it harder to advertise as what I would call a chill, rather than comfy, streamer. But stuff like the featured lists on Twitch help a bit. Even if this type isn't comparatively as success to more outgoing ones, I think people would get burnt out more often from vtubers if they didn't exists. 3. I think it's funny how most of the visual examples for this type are just irl streamers. But I think it would be better to show the irl examples off rather than smaller streamers who fit better. Best to leave those people be. If they show up in my feed that's just the algorithm picking and trying to say something to me 😂
Maybe it's not the best for success, but comfy vtubers are the only ones I'll actually watch (outside clips) so I'm grateful to all of the comfy streamers to exist.
4:15 about the Comfy Vtubers, I actually support 5 comfy Vtubers who i watch while playing something, doing something etc, I even sometimes get to play with them!! the problem is they only get average of 10-50 viewers, around 100 if they get big raids. but sometimes just a mod, me and a few from their community
What you said about comfy vtubers actually make sense when you think about it. Most people only really clip the "clippable" moments (the funny, lewd, or out-of-context ones usually) because those are the ones that get the most clicks, sometimes even more so than the serious moments. Comfy vtubers don't have much of that, which in turn leads to less clips (unless they clip themselves), eventually resulting in less CCV and less donations. And as you said, this is especially true with the seiso comfy vtubers, particularly ones who are indies or from smaller agencies, but less so with lewd comfy vtubers or ones from bigger agencies (such as Ina from Hololive EN).
> which in turn leads to less clips (unless they clip themselves) and then you ask yourself what do you even clip? Instantly gratifying 10 second funny/lewd/etc clip will always win over 10 minute heartfelt cozy story in the algorithm blender.
This is exactly my experience. In my time on Twitch I made 90% of my own clips because, if I didn't, most of the funny unexpected moments wouldn't have been clipped by viewers. Especially because I averaged 1-3 viewers. I've since migrated my streams over here, so I have to make clips myself anyway and upload them as Shorts. So, nothing has changed and I guess that prepared me to be quick on the hotkey in YT streams. Lol
I find the coomerbaiter kind unnecessary, knowing I can find coomer material on the internet in just a few clicks, and for free. Unless they offer something else, they are just tasteless for me. My opinion.
The kawaii vtubers with 14 yr old edginess who all """"coincidentally""" put on that same high pitch voice and all """"coincidentally"""" can't speak right/ acts purposely dumb 24/7 will be the death of me
I mean I just hate lewd for the sake of lewd. It is so tiring for me to go on to twitch just tp see a billion extremely endowed vtubers who are wearing some skin tight clothes. I actually have an extreme adverse reaction to the absurd hip-to-waist-to-chest ratios that are now around every corner (It is insane when you realize that bloody Kson has realistic sizes compared to what is out there now). Nothing against those who like it but what happened to the right amount of subtlety?
Problem is, subtlety and propriety are dead. Those of us who still have those traits are now the silenced minority. Most people don't have the attention span nor interest in discovering the depth of a non-thirst trap vtuber's personality and character. If they did, then I know I would've grown much more over the last 2 years than I have rather than having 3-5 times less growth than all the female vtubers I've seen who started around the same time or later than I did. Sadly, this won't change unless someone can magically do away with the majority's inherent thirst that has made sex sell so well for all of human history. 🤷♂
whenever I see dumb twitter post, I mostly ignore it unless its attacking an artist that doesn't deserve it. For example, artist pricing. Other than that ill just pray its being satire
I have several but one of them is making an unhealthy amount of parasocialism: Calling it a familly or ''everyone is my friend" , yes it feels good to hear it once and feel like you're included in something but in the end it simply creats such a false positive atmosphere that it becomes a litteral cult. And even more with the statement ''everyone is my friend'' when either they wouldnt want to be in direct contact with half of their viewers or if they are corpo/is a group of indie their friends would be other vtuber/content creators they know and are really friends with or their collegues but RARELY the viewer. For me it's nauseating when I see it since they profite directly from their ''friends'' and ''familly'' Similar for the GF/BF experience (rip rushia) unless bounderies are put up, that can not only fuck up some fans but the creator themself. However I dont mind it if they call their fans a certain name and creates them a mascot and uses them in their plot, it's still parasocialism but at least there is some invisible bounderies then calling it something that should be used only to close by people or people you trust. I also dislike vsingers but that's just pure hard copium because I can't sing and they're talented and stuff. and I dislike those who complain a lot even if I my self love to complain a lot(i'm not a vtuber tho). Oh yeah I also hate some clippers that clip some vtubers with only lewd stuff and put a very clickbaity thumbnail. It puts the Vtuber in such a badlight. :( Not a vtuber trope but still in the community.
I agree with your first point especially since they also are likely to be unwelcoming or ignore new viewers while saying that stuff and only act that way to regulars or only to people who donate
Nah sorry. I can't say I "respect the hussle" of coomerbaiters who take advantage of lonely coomers. Obviously the coomers could clean up their act and not be so profoundly unhealthy in their internet habits, but also maybe the dealer has some of the responsibility for the absolute state of the addict. Do I think the content shouldn't be allowed? No. But I don't have any problem with scorn for coomerbaiters and coomers alike.
The worst kinds of Vtubers are those that offer GFE experiences and then play victim when the fandom they farmed turns on them for even hinting that they have a boyfriend/girlfriend. Everyone involved is dirtier for having played the game.
Tbh i can understand why they would wanna keep it politic free as a new vtuber whos stopped talking about politics (didnt do it much of course as some would think) because i dont think its necessary and me still trying to get a model for the last few months even tho i know im not exactly a Vtuber yet because i still dont have a YT cha'nnel because i already made my goal i wont get one until i get a model. It's been a pain. I'm glad to learn more of what not to do here. Thank you.
I can't stand menhera character vtubers. Don't think it should be put on a pedestal. As someone who has battled with depression and... Can I even say the word on RUclips these days? Delete-self urges in the past, I hate seeing people call it "cute" in menhera vtubers.
Yeah, vtwitterers can vanish cause what they brought already is weird but what i really like is a gap streamer, basically both seiso and not seiso at same time, like is seiso most of the stream but sometimes slips lewd jokes alongside fanservice here and there, its honestly enjoyable trope
Personally, I don't think that being gay or lesbian is inherently any more political than being straight is. It comes to how the topic ends up being presented. Like half of Niji EN is gay as hell or at least bi, but you'd struggle to find anyone but the local 4chan weirdo trying to turn that into a political statement. But yeah, someone trying to get overtly political is where I tune out, because the last thing you want to get in your escapism is someone preaching down at you.
if theres a vtuber trope i dislike the most, i think it would be the kind of coomerbait where they pretend to be dumb. they'll be like "whats lewd? whats sex? >

I'd agree with everything this video said, but I'd also say for myself that I don't particularly like idol-based vtubers. Its not more about their content but more about how their personalities feel kind of "forced" or "manufactured". Not saying that i hate them and that they should disappear on the face of the earth nor do i think they don't get a lot of marketing, I can still appreciate their existence and do watch vtubers from that trope. But as for me, i think I'll stick with Nijisanji.
Politics is literally part of life. A political idealogy can come out in various discussions, because its part of how we view people, our society, and how everyday life functions in that society, meaning it'll be part of life no matter where you go unless you're just talking with yourself and I'm sure people here have gotten in a "we live in a society" rant with yourself, so you can't even escape it that way. All that claptrap to say, is yurning your brain off and having fun is nice, but if we're gonna actually interact with each other, our idealogies and stuff will come out, that's just a fact, saying "no politics" doesn't really do much to curb that. Rifts may occur.
@@KooneDoog That isn't really just a current thing, winning Internet arguments was a thing since we had IRC or AOL messenger. So people not listening but pontificating has been a thing as old as time.

Being naturally calm and collected inherently creates less moments that the majority of vtuber watchers would clip or even care to watch.
Generally, the most clippable moments are when the calm composure cracks, which will always be few and far between. And if there aren't enough people watching the streams, then some of those moments will be missed and won't even get clipped in the first place.

Western vtubers were a mistake

A lot of times they’ll use it as an excuse to be rude to other Vtubers they interact with and generally spread negative vibes. It usually gets to a point where I couldn’t tell you anything about their personality beyond the character they play

What about Pippa Pipkin?

*TL;DR:*
• That one "friend" you can never shake off, who always have the need to be included in any given event, big or small.
• The gaslighter/bully who can't handle the reverse Uno card/taste of their own medicine.
Elon likes seeing the Japanese cartoon avatars yelling at each other. It amuses him.

I really feel the underperformance factor in this, sometimes.

Love your videos man keep making amazing content
Any vtuber that does the GFE or BFE stuff. If Rushia didn't make it anymore obvious how bad it can get, then the rest of the GFE only vtubers can show just how bad it gets
GFE/BFE the most money maker and popular. Wtf r u on?
@@xnonsense5171 Just because they make a lot of money doesn't make it good
Extreme example, selling drugs to vulnerable people or murdering people for big money. I get payed a lotta dosh, but that doesn't make it good
Rushia's case was the worst purely because she may actually have a mental illness, which a GFE thing does not help with, rather, it makes the mental illness worse

The place where I live (Thailand) we joke a lot about politics, and it's kinda normal here. Not sure about the others
i think the only way is if its your exclusive content (ie jreg).

Vtubers who tweet and no content.. period and the mediocre who doesn't learn
Im surprised that you can have those belle Delphine clips in a youtube video

I’d say the former is a branch off from the Political Vtweeter, but the “Unironic Communist” and “VMisandrist” are ones that’s been popping up more frequently
It’s one things to joke about Hitler/Stalin/etc. and another to commission artists to show Communist Dictators giving you a Medal of Honor despite their country having suffered the effects of communism (yes a real Vtuber did that and they’ve protected their account since 😑)
As for the VMisandrist, it speaks for itself.

A vtuber trope that I absolutely hate with all my being is: The Parasocial exploiter
The ones who make girlfriend experience but never has a time they say its enough, they genuinely wants you to always be in love with them and incentivize complete obsession of you with them while selling a lot of "love merch".
Finana ''But seriously tho, L + Ratio + ur cringe @ parasocial fucks'' but do buy my wedding ring merch
Yanderes
For a community that disdains a fan hoping for something special with their oshi, yandere behaviour is weirdly accepted.
My thoughts on the three categories presented:

And as you said, this is especially true with the seiso comfy vtubers, particularly ones who are indies or from smaller agencies, but less so with lewd comfy vtubers or ones from bigger agencies (such as Ina from Hololive EN).
> which in turn leads to less clips (unless they clip themselves)
and then you ask yourself what do you even clip?
Lol

I have several but one of them is making an unhealthy amount of parasocialism:
Calling it a familly or ''everyone is my friend" , yes it feels good to hear it once and feel like you're included in something but in the end it simply creats such a false positive atmosphere that it becomes a litteral cult.
And even more with the statement ''everyone is my friend'' when either they wouldnt want to be in direct contact with half of their viewers or if they are corpo/is a group of indie their friends would be other vtuber/content creators they know and are really friends with or their collegues but RARELY the viewer.
For me it's nauseating when I see it since they profite directly from their ''friends'' and ''familly''
Similar for the GF/BF experience (rip rushia) unless bounderies are put up, that can not only fuck up some fans but the creator themself.
:( Not a vtuber trope but still in the community.

if theres a vtuber trope i dislike the most, i think it would be the kind of coomerbait where they pretend to be dumb. they'll be like "whats lewd? whats sex? >
THIS!! I see the all the time 💀💀
I don't know what, or if, I count as a trope. Perhaps the no-trope? Is that a trope in and of itsself?
I don't think being gay or lesbian should mean it automatically Political.
It is if you keep dwelling on it and signaling it.
Tell that to the woke corpos or the twittards who wave a flag falsely claiming they represent and fight for the actual lgbqt crowd
When the ACTUAL lgbqt people just want to be left alone
Putting a spotlight because of those false prophets defeat the purpose
@@fwiffo Not really, because being straight is normal. I dislike it just as much because it's obnoxious, but no one can say it's as out of the norm as having an alternate sexuality.
Depends on your country, really. Being openly gay in Indo is quite a statement.
3:33 That was a GOATED collab.
Just look at the lineup! Mint, Mocca, Pikamee, Nova, Lyrica!
I don't disagree with anything you said. But that being said, I love Shiori so damn much. Yes you weird little dork, show me dead bugs and parasites. I'm here for that shit.
Love how you put Momo the "most seiso" vtuber as a comfy vtuber
I mainly watch holoID, cause they're not idol, they're comedian, and i love em

Finana?
That Fauna with the Naruto headband...guess She represnts Faunaha "Drumrolls"🗿
We have terms like gaslighting, or people who are basically akin to preachers who try to grift with their own propoganda for as far back as we've had people who spread the news. Its just easier these days to saturate people with propoganda with various tools, but the reasoning behind it is no different.
Lol he said this 2
@@KooneDoog Part of it is that senselessness has been a part of the political process even before the Internet, because clashing with sides neither want to back down on is again a tale as old as time. But part of it is that it is profitable to spread easily digestible red meat where people who aren't as politically or media savvy bite down and the discourse turns to crap. I'm just of the opinion that the Internet is part of the problem, but not the entire source.
