I find it strange when someone says that they're a rapper or producer and say that they don't know 9th Wonder. I don't care if they're young or old. You're not hip-hop or of the culture. If you don't know who 9th Wonder is, Pete Rock, DJ Premier, or J Dilla is.
my favorite producers throughout the years of 1985 till today....Larry Smith (1983-1985) Mantronix (1985-1987) Marley Marl (1986-1990) Hurby Luv Bug (1986-1992) DJ Mark The 45 King (1987-1994) Dr. Dre (1988-today) J Dilla (1998-2006) Hi-Tek (1999-today) Pete Rock (1992-today) Paul Cee (1990-1995) Large Professor (1990-1999) 9th Wonder (2003-today) Khrysis (2005-today) Graymatter (2019-today) Ohbliv (2017-today) DJ Premier (1992-today) I used to call Wild Pitch Records and talk to the CEO Stu Fine and he would always mistake me for DJ Premier because we have the same first name and I would have to say from the Bay Area
Appreciate you watching and for this comment. You have some really dope producers that you listed. Some of the more old school producers I have to do my homework on. I know 45 King (RIP) and Marley Marl. I know Larry Smith produced for Run DMC I think but I couldn't tell you much about him other than that. And I definitely don't know a lot about Mantronix. Gotta look them up.
