JWU Providence Sharkfest 2024 - Sofia Zenteno '24

Sofia Zenteno ‘24, a Food & Beverage Entrepreneurship major, turned her passion for food sustainability into action with Germina, a nonprofit she founded. Drawing from her food entrepreneurship classes, Sofia dedicated her organization to teaching kids in Mexico City about food and urban gardening, aiming to fight food insecurity. She submitted her business proposal to JWU Sharkfest 2024, and Sofia wowed the judges and won the competition! She earned $5,000 to kickstart Germina in her hometown.
