I still technically "main" inf, as I have more inf marches than others. And nev exp/joan 5515 is absolutely necessary in your line up. Atm, nev/joan are amazing, and I dont see it going anywhere any time soon 😁😁
If you're a mid to high spender, than yes you should be cav main. If you're f2p to low spender, you should be infantry main in my opinion. Infantry has the best purple gear and crystal key equipment for f2p and infantry commanders available to f2p\spender has tankiness and gives them a better fighting chance in field fighting.
That is a common mistake that is told to newbies, it is silly to pretend to be a tank in a p2w game. Cavalry is the best class by far, better equipment, better marches, high versatility thanks to the march speed... it that makes it almost impossible for your target to escape
I wouldn't say at this stage of game that it's terrible to be an inf main, as we have commanders now with some great march speed for the field, but I wouldn't say that cav gear is really any harder to get. Ultimately, you want at least the 4 PC set bonus for the 10% march speed, which usually entails spending gems. And with cavs, set pieces are acquired the same way. They also have some great epic pieces, and some decent mid game pieces, such as vanguard set and expedition helm. I personally am an inf main, and enjoying it. But I definitely can understand why anyone would wanna main cavs, and think it's reasonable enough for f2p and low spenders to maintain.

If your in kvk max him if not just keep grinding and wait till the kvk starts

Cavalry is the best class in the game by far, they have better equipment, high speed, great versatility thanks to speed.
Byzantines is the better war civ for cavs.
It’s really not. Germany special unit takes the cake for cav civ. Plus you get training speed
