  • Khadaka Pooram refers to the celebrations and rites in which Lord Sastha, the principal deity of Arattupuzha Temple, and the other participating deities of Arattupuzha Pooram partake. Among the numerous divine beings engaged in the Pooram festivities, the most prominent are Triprayar Thevar, Arattupuzha Sasthav, Thottippal Bhagavathy, Urakam Bhagavathy, Cherpu Bhagavathy, Chathakudam Sasthav and Edakunni Bhagavathy.
Arattupuzha Pooram and the associated Khadaka Pooram festivities start off in the Malayalam month of Meenam, which falls between mid-March and mid-April.

usage of the term 'khadaga' pooram is not befitting to peruvanam-arattupuzha pooram festivals. All the dieties have equal importance.
