  • The new MIDI Note Visualization in Pro Tools makes it easier to recognize pitch values in the MIDI editors, especially if you’re not so familiar with music theory. Pitch is now displayed on the piano roll and/or a MIDI note that is played or recorded, and you can easily switch between flats and sharps.

I've been waiting for this for 20 years. It is annoying to find the right octave when played notes are not highlighted

I wonder if you can have custom labels on keyboard for mapping it to a GGD Drum VST

I just left a comment saying that. We need the ability to custom label the piano roll for when working with MIDI drums. Editing MIDI drums in PT makes you pull your hair out.

Good, now take it a step further and allow users to create their own MIDI note naming on the piano roll and save presets. This is much needed for when using a drum VSTi, so you can label all the articulations and kit pieces in a drum kit. Cubase has had this feature in their drum editor for years. This is the one thing keeping me from updating my PT perpetual.

I came to the video to see if we could do exactly that.
