This interview shows us the real PJ, a cinephile who explores CINEMA of every type and who tries to understand films to deeper levels (because he wants to) and takes interest in understanding their technicalities too. I hope he will start a separate channel to talk about films and TV series of other genres, countries and varieties, especially artistic cinema. Because he can't do that on his main channel most of the times, since most of the audience on that channel consumes mostly mass-audience/enjoyment-based movies.
I'm also a cinephile as my name suggests, but I only watch non commercial cinema. And yes, I can definitely say that you described me and my mindset. BTW can you share your favourites?

Black Swan is definitely one of the best surrealist movies of the last decade. Darren Aronofsky is a great filmmaker and the casting of the characters was perfect. Natalie Portman's performance reminded me of Gena Rowlands in Woman under the Influence. Some more movies in which the character is trying to achieve greatness all the while getting detached from reality and abolishing his/her sanity. 1) Otto e Mezzo 2) Mulholland Dr. 3) Agguire der Zorn Gottes 4) There will be Blood 5) Black Narcissus 6) The Exterminating Angel 7) Throne of Blood, and any other Scottish Play adaptations. BTW PJ should really watch this cult classic Italian movie called Salo.
