- Slippery roofs, fights with celotex, wild goats. These are just some of the challenges we come across on this job. Breath in deep, put the kettle on, breathe out again into a harmonica, and enjoy the ride on the ‘Solar Coaster’! 🍿 - P.S - Thanks for taking the time out of your busy lives to come watch the madness!

You know a video is good when 48 minutes feels like 5 minutes to watch :) Excellent as always.
Wow, thanks! We appreciate it! We have a fantastic team behind the scenes 🎬😁👍🏼
thats because your watched it on x16 due to corys harmonica playing
I always use x 32 speed much more enjoyable experience .... only messing Cory love yer really
Can't echo the "be nice to tradespeople" comment enough. I had 3 joiners and 2 sparkies in replacing the windows in my house and fitting a new db a few months ago. I moved the mini fridge from my office into the living room and everyday we made sure it was filled with milk and snacks for them.
Came back one night to find out they had not only finished the job to an exceptional standard but had also fixed a couple of faults they had found and also put up the blind and curtains in the babies room for nothing.
I've hired them all abck several times for more jobs.
Yep, being kind will work out for the best!
Blurring Cory’s pants on the roof had me ROFL 😂
Tbh, the first edit cut, without the blur I almost spat out my breakfast, it was a choice between an explicit content logo, or a blur 😶🌫️
Maybe there will be an unedited version 😊
I genuinely learn a ton from watching your vids! One of the main takeaways from this vid was always squat test a new pair of shorts before leaving the house.
🤣🤣🤣 Everyday is a school day
Wow, I absolutely loved this video and the short film format. Can't wait for the fan convertion video!
Thanks Mate!!! It’s coming, some time in the next decade is how it’s feeling at this rate though 🤣👍🏼
Great video cory and fantastic job looking forward to the next one
Thanks 👍!! We appreciate you commenting
Yayyyy more of Chester's craziness! Great people attract even greater people, that's why you've got the people you have.
Thanks so much! I’m very lucky to have good friends! 😁👍🏼
I felt like the start 01:09 was the beginning of a 'Blue Peter' episode ! _(thanks Chester)_ That 'solar skirt' is superb indeed. Also I'll chime in: could you stop talking about the job & get on with the absolute rubbish !😉 TEAM, TEAM, TEAM - that's the key and you have it Cory!! Possibly THE best vid you guys have done - footage, editing & sound design would have taken an eternity, A+ from me 🤗
Thanks so much mate! We really appreciate the love, especially from someone in the industry! We have a great gang 🎥🎬🎢
Probably your best video yet imo Cory, good job man
Thanks so much Mr Chicken!! 🐥
What a fantastic piece of work, gang. Perfect story, perfect videography, nice people. Perfect.
Thank you very much! The gang are amazing! 🎥 🎬🎢
You have great team of guys to call on. Love watching, Chester just cracks me up 😂
We’re super fortunate and proud! 🐄⚡️🦅
Great video as usual had Cory and his team install solar and battery storage at my home very professional and great people as well
It was a pleasure to work for you Vince! 🌭☕️
Fantastic video, well edited for entertaining viewing, and as usual spot on job.
Thank you very much! We have a great team 🤩
Feels like a bit of a Clarkson's Farm inspiration was going on here, and I love it! Well done, best video you've produced to date team 👍
Thanks so much mate. Props to the editing team & Åse’s filming!
I was going to say the same thing! Excellent video Cory and team 🎉
Thanks @willsb3 ! Much appreciated ⚡️🐄🎢
Love the content Cory I’ve been watching you since you worked with Jordan at Artisan! Really knowledgeable spark, these guys who work with you are very lucky! Great working environment, makes the whole difference! 🤙🏼😁
Thanks man! I appreciate the support 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Hilarious, educational, and outstanding quality. Good work team. I love RUclips ❤
Thanks so much! We appreciate you watching and commenting
i need to say i had the hardest light pull today and i did chesters knot and it is one of the reasons i was even able to get this cord to the junction box i almost cried tears of joy after so thank you
We cried tears of joy, seeing this comment… thanks nick!! 🤩🎢⚡️🐄
Always amazing videos, very high production values
Much appreciated! The editors & gang work hard 😁👍🏼
Great job team! Enjoyed watching this whole thing!
Thanks 🤩🙏🏼🙏🏼
Fantastic video Cory. Loving the content
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks so much for watching
What a lovely team you have there Cory, shout out to your camera lady too.
Why would anyone not be kind to tradesmen? I've always got the kettle on if I have people in, the only trouble I've had is I've had some very odd tradesmen in... pound to a penny if i go to our wonderful bakers and get some yummies, the guy I have in doesn't want it and I have to eat it myself. For the next few days, nothing but pastries, I ask you, what is a girl to do?!😋
One of your best videos chaps, didnt seem anywhere near long enough, could have watched another fifty minutes and not noticed the time go by.
You look after yourselves and ill look forward to the next one.👍
Ahh you’re too Kind! Thanks Jude! I agree on the treatment of tradesmen, but you’d be surprised! I think it’s just how you were raised 😅😅
Absolutely brilliant video!
Glad you enjoyed it! The editor worked hard on this one!
That Solar Skirt looks absolutely gorgeous on that roof. I’ve seen this just in time for a system I am planning 🙌
You should! Our customer is over the moon with it, and from the road it’s super inconspicuous 👍🏼👍🏼
Entertaining as always. Let us know what the dno did about the pre wiring for a grow garage?
Thanks Ian!! I’m not sure, the neighbour didn’t seem too fussed when I told her about the situation, and gave her the phone number
29:45 Am I the only one who got Chesters “Were going on a bear hunt” joke 👀 😂
Bearly anyone gets a good joke nowadays
Get it?
Going to catch a big one? Think it’s why it’s pixelated 😮
Cory excellent, great production, quality .
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for commenting David! 🎢🎥⚡️
Most well spoken sparks I’ve ever heard 👍
Absolutely amazing format, really enjoyed that one!
Glad you enjoyed it! We’re trying some new things the next few months!
Great content guys, really enjoy, watching and learning ⚡️👊
Great to hear! Thanks Jensen!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼👏
Thoroughly enjoyable. ❤
Thanks Kevin!! 🐄🎬⚡️
Pour sprite onto the a standing rolled steel roof works wonders for grip, goes without saying this only works on a dry day. Trainers tend to offer much better grip too
That’s absolutely genius 🤯
Cory getting 141K subs in 18 months and Nick Bundy having 104K after nearly 6 years 👀 💀
Nick is focusing on sponsors now I think, it seems a good exit plan if he wants to retire from the limelight with a few €€€
Literally up there with the best of RUclips 😀
You’re too kind!!!
Channelling your inner Richard OBrien with that harmonica.
😂😂😂
@@corymac going to need a “toooo the crystal dome in the next video…”
I've only watched 50 seconds so far but holy cows the editing is absolutely fantastic!
is that the veto pro pac tom got that you couldn't sell on facebook? xD
Thanks Simon!!! I with pass it along to the team ⚡️⚡️
🤣🤣🤣
the cows 🐄🤣🤣🤣🤣🐄🐄🐄
4 years later I’ve understood the pun. Bravo, bravo 👏
Great vlog well done all of you.
Glad you enjoyed it mate!
That was simply stunning Cory and crew! Faint whisperings of old TV series like Dad's Army with the "You've been watching" end.... 🎉❤😂😅😊
Thanks Jimbo!!! 🦢😁👍🏼
Real dictators is a great podcast!
I’m so glad someone spotted that 🤣👍🏼. Nice to have a man of taste over here!!
Don't let the building inspector see the video, you not meant to drill kingspan😂😂
He's signed the job off now too late 😂😂
Uh oh 🫣😶🌫️
Best video yet
Thanks Ian! We’re trying something new
Solar diversion is great, use it myself, but typically it gives you hot water at the end of the day. That might not suit when the household uses most hot water.
With battery and solar diverter you can dump from battery > water overnight/early morning. So you get hot water for morning showers and a battery with low SoC ready to soak up day time watts.
Can also employ a technique where you start dumping to water before hitting 100% SoC. On a sunny day with a large system a solar diverter can't consume all excess.
It’s a good tip, although I find my tank is so insulated, once heated it lasts ages!
Yeah they hold their heat well. Lots of factors: tank size, usage patterns. Hard part is the interaction with the gas boiler so the system as a whole can make the most of excess solar.
Best in the game you lot 👏👏👏👏👏
Learning every day! But thank you 🤩🎢🐄
Very fun video. I want to build something practical like a BBQ area, garden shed, or something, with a roof over it to place solar. Having a roof made so that you can just clamp solar onto it sounds ideal.
You can make the roof out of a steel frame and bi-facial panels!
@@corymac that's a good idea, I live in Minnesota, so the snow reflects a lot of light in winter even when it is overcast.
There’s a lot of studies now ( I’m doing my own as we speak too ) on how it can make a difference even with relatively non reflective surfaces underneath such as paving stones. Worth checking out!
@@corymac yeah that'd be fun to do. I watch a lot of solar videos but haven't seriously crunched the numbers yet. I have just been trying to think of an adjustable and preferably portable solar panel mounting system that will be more decorative than a normal solar panel setup. Lots of my neighbors BBQ, so if I could make a patio that is shaded (with solar panels) and has storage (for LiFePO4, inverters, etc.), I am 95% certain that the neighbors would be impressed instead of annoyed at how it looks from the street. Only 1 neighbor who I have never met has a DIY solar setup for years now consisting of toddler strollers (buggies).
Always good to watch Llando Norris and his pit crew in action 🤔😙😉
I don’t see the resemblance 😂🤣
Absolutely epic job & video!
🤩⚡️🎥🐄🎢
Neat. Job well done!
Thank you!
Best wishes to Tom, decent dude
Toms great!! I’ll pass it along 🙏🏼⚡️🎢
Great video. A quick removal of the alarm panel cover would have shown that it was wireless and if there were any wires there.
Hindsite eh 🤣👍🏼
@@corymac Oh Yeah!! We all have plenty of it for others - but bomb out when we should be using it ourselves ! Still a great video!
Thanks mate! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🎢🎥
Next level… Even Nagys return can’t top this…
Wooo, thanks mate!! 👍🏼🎢⚡️
BTW - are you based in swannage? I see a Jurassic sparks van there often!
@@corymac I know of the bloke you’re referring too. But I’m based in Australia and trade under a different name now. Just haven’t updated my YT profile yet
The DNO left outside on the house - I dug one up that had been buried by builders on an extension. Still live, 3 phase, wrapped in a plastic bag. Scary moment - when I realised what I was holding (complete with copper fuse contacts exposed from where the spade had gone clean through the old brittle plastic).
That’s insane!!! What did they do about it?
Imagine in big rain pour that would have been a deadly puddle
@@corymac well, we rang the emergency number. Guy turns up in a van - flashy lights - pristine high vis and sunglasses - stands 5ft from the hole and declares “that’s electrics alright. Don’t touch it.” …. Walks to his van to retrieve a danger sign, tosses it into the hole, and said someone will be alone to resolve it 😂
Couple of days later, 3 man crew roll up to terminate the supply properly and rebury it deep. Some sort of resin poured cap iirc. Presumably standard process for removal of such things? Apparently builders are notorious for it - there’s (as you describe) these “leaky spots” all over the country.
Real dictators, great podcast haha. Loving the content on the channel, long form videos are great.
Glad you like them! ( have you seen real pirates yet? 🏴☠️)
@@corymac nope but I’ll definitely check it out
That alarm is a pyronix enforcer mate, wireless alarm so the possibility of cables being in the way very slim, however it can accommodate a few cables. I’m surprised they’ve put it that close to a DB 😬
Thanks for the tip!
Great vid btw!!
Thanks Jamie!!
Chester, no one can use a ladder as bad as Cory!!
Too right!!
Do you recommend a solar diverter that is independent and doesnt need to be integrated to say solar edges system. I have solar on my house but its not my house. Its on the old fit system so doesnt really matter what i consume. We have hours of the dsy even with ac running that we are exporting around a kw at peak times. Also like today weare exporting loadsbut its not warm enough for the ac so id rather take advantage of it. Thanks
Yeah! It can work, if you don’t have DC coupled batteries it’ll work well. Check out the My energi eddi. If you need us to fit it, ping us an email!
@@corymac cheers appreciate that.
6:30 I really thought you were Santa for a second there!
EDIT: I suppose you were kind-of with the 30 day free trial, without needing a credit card haha!
🤣🤣🤣👍🏼
Weirdly the blur made my look even more at the lunchbox.
😶🌫️😂😂😂
P.S - Dan, Chester & Tom are great!!!
Edit - good for you gifting the toolbag!
The best!
Great content as always. Where did you pick up all your knowledge around smart home kit etc? As a qualified spark whos been working with PLCs and controls for the last 7 years i feel like it should be obvious, but would like to know where to go to actually start getting my head into it all, brand specific etc.
Just from working with Oliver from chilli, and from RUclips! 🤓👍🏼
That Intruder Alarm at 43:13 is wireless system, at most likely on 2 8 cores going into it, one for a keypad I seen and maybe a siren.
The usual saying was 2 guys 1 cup, but this is 3 guys one hot tub....... ermm.... love you as always Cory.
@4:19 Thanks for hiding your chap... Hi Dan!
💀💀💀
Regarding 31:00, this is gonna sound really random but back when I did my A-Level's I had this app to 'assist (defo not cheat)' on maths work called PhotoMath but ended up keeping it because it allows you to use your camera with the torch on and works great for inspecting areas like that with your iphone without having to record a video to use the torch and camera at the same time and worry about deleting the vid after or if ur low on storageor dig out your ferret cam. Just click the flash icon at the bottom and away you go. And its a great calculator should you need it lmao. Also, one of your best vids Cory, really felt like something you would watch on the telly. Props to you and the entire team for the amazing work, filming and editing! And happy fathers day to all the dads out there!
Thanks mate!!
It would be interesting to compare the panels' temperatures with and without the "solar skirts." Heat is the enemy of PV panels' efficiency and lifetime. Do the microinverters on the PV panels have a temperature sensor?
With a wardrobe like that I was lucky not to be there that day 😂
You’re just jealous of the Patagonia hat and latex shorts combo
Jealous probably not the words I would use but yeah definitely you need to up your hat game 😅
Good lively video indeed! Doesn't the solarskirt block panel cooling? It doesn't allow air thru. But it looks better I agree.
This model of skirt has chimney holes drilled in the top 😄👍🏼
Man, this is such a nice project. Why didn’t they go for a smart system when designing it.
KNX & DALI would have reduced cabling, while delivering scene-based, human-centric lighting and presence detection across the building.
It is so sad to see that UK sparks & architects just have no clue about 21st century digital electrics.
Kopex sounds like something electricians use when they don't want to admit how bad things are.
I appreciate this comment more than I have appreciated a comment in a long time 🤣🤣🤣
alarm is a wifi system but you can never be too safe
Fab job guys 😊
Thanks Mary!! 🎥⚡️🎢
TIP FOR EARTH RODS 👍👍👍 PUT YOUR SDS ON THE TOP HAMMER SETTING AND BINGO RAPID AND NO HEAVY HAMMER NEEDED 👍👍
Check our Instagram! We just posted a reel with the Linian SDS earth rod adapter which I successfully had forgotten that day 🤣👍🏼
Good to see DMH Dan back again
Try to install a Willis heater instead of using the immersion.
It will fill the tank with hot rather than just above the immersion
That’s a good idea! 👍🏼
@38:15 Looks suspiciously like an Australian Barmah Squashy Fullgrain! The perfect hat for use with a Oilskin.
It’s actually a Nepalese hard back Bali for gap year half grain
But it’s an easy mistake to make
@@corymac They look close..
Still laugh how you in UK still get excited about the earth sure cable when ever since doing my apprenticeship in 86
We’re the most stubborn country when it comes to progress in regs 🤣
On My water heater I just put a timer to turn on at peak midday sun and off at 6, it was
A big tank so knew it would
Last all day for all use, plus my house is in Spain so it gets
Loads
More sun
Sounds good!
The Solar Skirt looks great - but won't it considerably reduce convection under the panels, and thus lead to them running hotter and so the panels degrading faster?
They have vents in the top and bottom to encourage ventilation 😄👌
AH! So it was you guys working on that house, darn if I'd known that I'd have come and snuck into the video lol would absolutely love to get this setup but grandparents arnt keen on the idea of batterys cause of the ev business and a neighbour exaggerating about one nearly burning down the house, the control board burnt out cause an installer fault but thats cooked it for any more solar ideas for this house now! We're sending kw's of electric out cause we just can't use it enough, but then pay a load at night madness!
You should have said hi! Next time 😁
there is one SY cable that is no basec approved... still gash and goes rusty in about 3 days
I may or may not know of people who have taken advantage of "forgotten" DNO connections. I would 100% be taking advantage of that three phase connection.
Awsome videos 👌👍
Thanks Brett!
Is the 5kw inverter going to be enough now?
Yes! It’s an easy west split. You can oversize those inverters 190%, and with DC coupled batteries, anything it can’t handle will be stored
"she cooked you all dinner" Umm that's an Indian takeaway matey haha
That was actually the night I ordered, she cooked the night before, good spot!!! 🦅 👁️😂👍🏼
I believe that pyramid alarm was wireless so other than mains there more than likely isn’t any wires
Hindsite eh? 🤣👍🏼
Can you get pig milk??🤣🤣🤣🤣
you dont need to grind burrs down they actually benificial when you tighten it up, cuts in thewasher
It just feels a sin to leave any metal sharp!
You were at midsummer wholesale on Cambridge! I work next door! If I’d known, you could have had a cuppa and see some synthetic DNA magic!
That sounds awesome! What is that?!
@@corymac We’re the other half of their buiding - we share the back bit where you were parked up loading the panels. It’s all science labs and tech inside. Our company is Evonetix - synthetic DNA production. Think 3D printer - but DNA and not plastic models 🙂. It’s the most interesting paid gig I’ve had so far!
You are using the hot water tank as a dump load?
Pretty much!!! 😁👍🏼
It's a wireless alarm panel! Chances are there are no alarm cables hidden in the plaster
SY isn't approved, but neither is your Ultra cables according to ECA. Hence its supposed to be marked as a departure on your certs. Always fun watching your videos!
Thanks Andy! 😁⚡️🎢🐄
Alarm panel is a wireless one only mains so shouldn’t be any cables behind
Thank you!
@@corymac no problem I no you would of already put on adj wall but if you have anything else to install in future there no reason you can’t go on top
Thanks for the warning at the start, I have taken my brave pills and am ready to go
You’re welcome, I don’t wanna catch a lawsuit 👮♀️
Solar skirting is very cool. Havnt seen it used in US.
It’s awesome! And keeps all the birds at bay
Au contraire. Doesn't it make the panels overheat as it restricts air flow although I see that these had some holes for the entry of small birds to nest.
🍚13:43 "cooked" 🤔 looks ordered...🍛
That was the Indian I actually ordered, she cooked the night before, but didn’t have a photo!! Good eyes though sir!
When you blow the brick when drilling, as you did. Glue the piece back with Mitre Bond (super glue and activator) and nobody will ever know.😉
Sneaky sneaky 😁🥸
Crikey! This house did not have a heat pump! How primitive.😁
I’m mid process of digging into the realms of heat pumps!
Whaa have you got a harmonica? Whaa, Whaa, Whaa?
