If you screw a deck in here with a long 510 and push that pin in too far... take the battery out, the two screws in the battery bay out (one is under the kanger sticker) and just slide that part out... then push up on the pin and good to go... had to do this with both of mine. I looked everywhere and couldnt find a solution for that so I hope that helps.... i LOVE this setup... i use it more than my sigelei or my ipv4s. I gave one to my old man who is a 40+ year smoker and he has been smoke free for a month now! I have the white version and the driptip on mine is not that tight at all. The only issue I have with it is spitback with the RBA at lower wattage. Overall a great product. I would say it's the perfect starter-kit, this was my first kit and I'm hooked :)
Bakkefication I'm running 1 Ohm spaced coil on the RBA, no spitback with high VG at 25 watts. White unit, no problems with drip tip although I think it's a bit too short.
I just bought the Subox mini kit today, I upgraded from one of those E-Smart little pen vapes ( mouth to lung hit ) and this thing is amazing, I left the 0.5 in it to try out the lung hits on the smallest hole and the flavor is so good. I read the manual and it says to use the 1.5 ohm for mouth to lung hits so I'll have to try that one out after im done with this strawberry flavor I put in it. I've watched so many reviews and it was either the Subox or the Evic VTC but since temp control is kinda new I went with this simple set up. I heard a few people complaining about the tank leaking and in the manual it says NOT to unscrew it holding the glass tank part or it will leak or break the glass which I'm sure that is what people are doing to unscrew it rather than holding the top or base of it. i've been using this mod for months now, so i've had time to tinker a lot with the RBA section and building my own coils for it. don't get any spit back now. Awesome product. I specially like the RBA section, not having to constantly buy coils and being able to build them is a big pro for me.

Short version...if your using Ni200 coils you can use Temp Control which reduces dry hits and allows longer warmer vapes without burning. The voltage is regulated to keep you at the right temp. Wattage in temp mode is more or less like how quickly you'll reach you ideal temp. This is just a quick non detailed explanation. I recommend you read up on it.
VexedMeerkat Wattage on the TC modes gives you the max cutout power for temperature control. In other words, at least in my experience, it hits the coil with your given power until it gets up to heat, then bounces off that wattage to keep the temperature. In tech terms, it sets the max wattage for the mod to PWM from. Don't know if you needed that info. For me the flavour is alot better and I never get a burnt hit, but the cloud quality and density is lower
I have had numerous mods and all I can say this is my favorite by far. It's small, compact and gets the job done perfectly. I haven't been getting the spitback issues but it seems as though I wick it a little differently.

I feel like the leaking was a real big issue on the very first subtank. My mini does not have a problem but i have heard of people who do. It's more hit or miss now. Also vaping high vg juice really helps
Not sure why there are people that have issues with leaking subtanks. Never had mine leaked once and i have been using the V1 exclusively since it launched. I suspect a lot of people are either A.) buying knock off coil heads B.) couldn't build their own coils out of a paper bag C.) are using high PG juice. Anything that is 50% VG or higher the tank shouldn't leak.

Personally, I love mine. I got the white version (or what some have called the "Stormtrooper" from Avail for $55. I'm not kidding on that price. With the juice, battery, and kit, I spent less than $100. This got me interested in learning how to do RBA builds. The problems I had was with leaking. On rare occasions, I would get a little juice running down through the airholes. A little rework on the wicking and keeping conscious of the outside temperature helped. I agree, this is a very high recommendation. Plenty of stuff for beginners to learn how to use the RBA, plenty of tank space. My battery doesn't last nearly as long as I would like, but it just goes with the use. Thank you very much for posting the video!!
I got one of these about two months ago and it's totally worth it, the white on white looks so clean and it vapes amazingly, I'd totally recommend it to anyone.
Have had this since it was released. The only spitting issues i've had were with twisted vertical coils with 50/50 juice. If it leaks, you didn't use enough cotton, didn't tighten everything inside properly, or got juice in between the glass and bottom o-ring. Have charged daily in device, vaping while charging, no issues (using 2500mah Efest). Still available for $59.99 on vistavapors. It's just a good solid unit, especially for the price. Currently using the subtank mini on a hb dna40 with .11 ni200 build and it hits like a dream.
I bought one less than 3 weeks ago, and till now I absolutely love this thing. I took a leap from a K100 mech mod I've been using for three years (the K1 is solid af) and I don't regret it. Running 8 wraps around a 2mm screw at 0.5 and this thing is a real goodie for beginners! It's really expensive here though :( BND$130 for the kit with is like USD$100 because the vape market here is expensive despite the fact that people vape a lot here. But anyway, love your videos RiP!

I've had mine for a few weeks and it's definitely one of the nicest package deals around. I paid around $60 for mine with shipping and right after I ordered it, 101vape and a couple of other vendors put them up for even less. The magic behind the Subox Mini isn't really how well it performs but in the way it looks. It was a difficult choice but I settled on ordering the white, imperial storm trooper version. I may have to get a black one as well.
If you want to avoid the spit back hitting your tongue, take the mesh from an old isub tank coil and put it under the driptip. I haven't done that myself yet, but I did make something similar by making a spiral disc from a piece of wire, and it helped a lot. Not fond of the driptip itself either, as it likes to collect juice. I think drilling it out slightly will help with that, by making the smaller internal hole tapered.

Had this for about a month now, a great all in one kit, the only issues is a tad delay in firing, no button lock feature & lastly juice build up underneath the drip tip when taken off.
I've been vaping the subox mini for 2 months now, with the RBA head and have not had any spit back at all. Not once. Don't know how you're getting spit back, but I'd just like to throw out my personal experience. This is my first mod and I LOVE it. Highly recommend it!

Been using this for about a month and a half and am loving it!!! Partner moaned that much about her mod after I got mine, I ended up having to buy her one too ;). Find it gives great flavour and vape production and is my go to mod just now. Do have to disagree on the o ring con, got a few spares with mine. Also not really been suffering from the spit back with the rba section.
Coincidentally I got mine in right when this video came out. This little thing is heavier than I thought, it's sleek smooth black matte style is super nice and the RBA hasn't been giving me problems and I have had any problems with leaks either! 10/10 so far:D
hey RiP, I have the black and the white version, love em both. The white one comes with a white and a black drip tip also. And as far as O rings, most every vape shop sells Kanger Orings in multiple colors for like $4. I'm using a 90VG juice and getting the odd dry hit if I pull too fast, so slow steady pulls is the way to go with the .5 coil. Best "kit" out there for the price range.
Bought this a couple months ago and can also vouch for it's awesomeness. One warning don't leave it in the car if you're in hot climate it does like to leak when it warms up.

i bought the smok R80 TC with TFV4 Micro tank. so loving the vape production from it and the flavor production and the best thing is that the mod has a temp control mode as well as a wattage mode
Jacob Jones what wattage are you vaping at? I don't insist on my build to be correct, but I either get a dry hit because there is too much cotton, or a spit back, couldn't get to the middle, though, I tried a lot
Iv had mine since the day it hit the market in the UK, it's a great product, you can get spit back on the RBA but you just have to play with your build and how you wick. Personally I use twisted 26 or 28 A1 and Drago cotton, prefer how it wicks the flavour it produces is 100% better that JOC and dry hits don't taste no where near as bad, all though it is more difficult to work with! .. ( just like rip says..' This is all subjective! Which is what a lot of you don't seem to understand..) I use mine on a daily basis, I take it everywhere with me and after about 2 months the 'ceramic coating' has worn away on all the edges and is starting to wear on the body it's self so just keep this in mind.... I use a dripper on it to but you CANNOT build below 0.3ohms, also if you have something like a Nixon dripper where the airflow is controlled at the base it sits too close to the deck to be Able to adjust the airflow so you have to use something like a Kepler heat sink (found on eBay £6) then it works as it should.
I had a lot of leaking problems with this tank. Juice would leak out the air flow slots at the bottom.. I fixed it by changing the bottom o ring that I got from a friend. Extra o rings should have been provided but apart from that I'm very pleased with this mod.
I got the white version. It is nice but I noticed a few of things with mine. 1) There is a 3 second delay between pushing the button and actually starting to push current through the coil. This happens on any wattage setting. 2) The white coating on the tank has gone inside the air adjustment ring and makes it really hard to turn the ring due to added friction. 3) The battery cover does not have a very strong magnet and the fitting is not perfect so it moves up/down and it does create a gap. I have it installed the right way. 4) The voltage reading on the screen shows 0v until you actually press the button. So you need to vape to see the voltage or you need to press the button and burn juice without vaping it. 5) I have the old style RDA from another Kanger Mini and I think it picks up the juice better than the new one because the old one has the juice tunnels at the bottom which allows the last drops of juice to wick into the cotton. The newer one has them on the sides and wastes approximately 1ml of juice at the bottom of the tank. 6) Pressing the button 5 times to turn on/off sometimes does not work. It looks like the timing must be right and not just the number of presses. Can be annoying when you try to turn it on/off in a hurry. Had to mention some of the above as problems. Especially 1,3,4,5 and 6 since they are design problems and not related to manufacturing of a specific piece like 2.
BinarySounds oh and it's a shame that the drip tip on the new tank is plastic instead of metallic like it used to be. However, my drip tip was not a tight fit like yours. It fits perfectly in terms of diameter. Another disadvantage is that the part of the tip that goes into the tank is not as long as the depth of the hole in the tank. This little gap created between them gathers a lot of juice and makes things very messy when you pull the tip off.
I bought the white one and it actually comes with 2 drip tips. A white and a black. Also if you keep the wick a bit longer on the rba it doesn't spit. Just a tip for ya. I've had no problems with spitting. My favorite by far.
I love this kit, upgraded from a Vision Spinner II and Pro Tank II and damn what a difference lol always great flavor from the included .5ohm with every juice I've tried between 25 and 35 watts. Gonna start building with the RBA and see what kind of coils I can make and get away with lol

Nice unboxing. I got the white one. Anyways just wanted to share with u a solution, sort of, about the juice spitting Kanger RBA. I found that if you push the coil down, right on top of the air-hole, it helps. It's not a Kayfun, so no need to lift the coil. But don't touch the build deck, else it'll short circuit. I absolutely love this product it seems to fit with every rda that I put on it and I did my own double twist 26 gauge kanthal at 0.3 vertical build in the rba that came with the kit and let me tell u wow what a difference just sweet ass vapor and vlavor
I got one, it's pretty good. You know, they could have just reversed the polarization on the magnets so that the battery cover would only attach one way. That'd solve the upside-down cover problem.

BTW, this thing is built like a tank. I've dropped it several times on concrete (don't keep it in your lap while you're driving, and forget about it when you get out of your car) The finish scratches easy but the damn thing won't break. Totally awesome unit.

with the rba for the subtank I find building vertical coils for it stops it from spitting anywhere near as badly as horizontal builds and usually gives better flavour,

I have had this device for a month and... well I ran mine with a mutation x v5 clone using 24 gauge at .3 ohms and 50 watts. It ran like a boss for a month but.... it has died. And kangers return process is nothing short of a pain in the butt. So even though they list it's capabilities of .3 ohms and 50 watts, I don't suggest it. It just can't handle the heat. I first started to get "temp high" warnings so I decided my 4 day old wick may be do for a change. Did so and used extra cotton around the center post to help keep it cooler and everything was fine. That night I put a fresh battery in and woke to a drained battery at 1.9 volts. I removed my rda and put a fresh battery in and came back 8 hours later (still with no tank on it) and my battery was again drained. So I'm guessing it has a short. 3 days of back and forth with kanger and my retailer and I know have my final instructions on how to return. If I did not save my kits box and everything it came with I would had problems returning as well. If I get a new one and it dies I will not even attempt to deal with kanger or my retailers products again. I love kanger products but will only purchase products I don't mind just taking a loss on if they die on me again. On a side note. At first email kangers basically told me they were to big to deal with their customers and that their retailers are instructed to take care of customer returns. My retailer didn't seem to think so. After about 20 emails between both, taking photos, verification processes, instructions, getting retailer info, etc.... kanger said they will take care of me. I haven't sent the stuff back because it has burnt me out doing all this, but I will next week. Let's just say I don't have high expectations on a quick return. On another side note. I bought a tesla hybrid as a temporary carry mod replacement that burnt the cap out of my hands and could had set my car on fire. I used the 510 plate and a tested rda and I'm still using that rda setup on other mods now. The tesla hybrids firing pin spring had some issues and continued to take power from the battery without putting power to my coils. When I grabbed it the mod was hot as hell and burned me good. I took the spring out later and noticed it looked like the spring was burnt. I could had put cotton in the firing button spring and just vapid from that thing. Lol so kanger and tesla are coming out my arsenal. I don't take quality control lightly. These are dangerous devices that require lots of responsibility, I do my part, I only ask that the manufacturer do theirs.
I like the Kanger Subox Mini Starter Kit. I think its the best starter system for the beginning vapors and that just how I see it. I own two of these and one I will just give away the other I will just leave on my vaping shelf as part of my growing collection of vape gear. Its a nice kit, it looks good, it works.
Do have to say, I've got the white one, and I absolutely love it, I've thrown a few RDA's on it, and the tank is fantastic, but the airflow seems a touch restricted to me, but really it's not bad at all. I got the white one because it comes with an extra delrin tip for the tank, worth every cent I paid for. the one caveat I have with this device is to turn it off, it doesn't always detect 5 presses, you can press the fire button till it turns off. once you get it off it will always turn back on at 5 clicks. just a bug with the software, not a deal breaker for me.
I bought it off a website for $80 as well but was also able to get two batteries and a single bay charger overall love this vape would definitely recommend.

The problems I had was with leaking. On rare occasions, I would get a little juice running down through the airholes. A little rework on the wicking and keeping conscious of the outside temperature helped.
I agree, this is a very high recommendation. Plenty of stuff for beginners to learn how to use the RBA, plenty of tank space. My battery doesn't last nearly as long as I would like, but it just goes with the use.

Have had this since it was released. The only spitting issues i've had were with twisted vertical coils with 50/50 juice. If it leaks, you didn't use enough cotton, didn't tighten everything inside properly, or got juice in between the glass and bottom o-ring. Have charged daily in device, vaping while charging, no issues (using 2500mah Efest). Still available for $59.99 on vistavapors. It's just a good solid unit, especially for the price. Currently using the subtank mini on a hb dna40 with .11 ni200 build and it hits like a dream.
I bought one less than 3 weeks ago, and till now I absolutely love this thing. I took a leap from a K100 mech mod I've been using for three years (the K1 is solid af) and I don't regret it. Running 8 wraps around a 2mm screw at 0.5 and this thing is a real goodie for beginners! It's really expensive here though :( BND$130 for the kit with is like USD$100 because the vape market here is expensive despite the fact that people vape a lot here. But anyway, love your videos RiP!
I have the 75 watts and build my coils at .32 ohms. I went from a two pack a day habit to just this and love it. great video keep up the good work.

I've had mine for a few weeks and it's definitely one of the nicest package deals around. I paid around $60 for mine with shipping and right after I ordered it, 101vape and a couple of other vendors put them up for even less. The magic behind the Subox Mini isn't really how well it performs but in the way it looks. It was a difficult choice but I settled on ordering the white, imperial storm trooper version. I may have to get a black one as well.

If you want to avoid the spit back hitting your tongue, take the mesh from an old isub tank coil and put it under the driptip.
I haven't done that myself yet, but I did make something similar by making a spiral disc from a piece of wire, and it helped a lot.
Not fond of the driptip itself either, as it likes to collect juice. I think drilling it out slightly will help with that, by making the smaller internal hole tapered.

Had this for about a month now, a great all in one kit, the only issues is a tad delay in firing, no button lock feature & lastly juice build up underneath the drip tip when taken off.
I've been vaping the subox mini for 2 months now, with the RBA head and have not had any spit back at all. Not once. Don't know how you're getting spit back, but I'd just like to throw out my personal experience. This is my first mod and I LOVE it. Highly recommend it!
have 26g twisted in both of mine 0.4ohm 5 turns on blue screwdriver and no spitting at all. Insane vapour production.

Been using this for about a month and a half and am loving it!!! Partner moaned that much about her mod after I got mine, I ended up having to buy her one too ;). Find it gives great flavour and vape production and is my go to mod just now.
Do have to disagree on the o ring con, got a few spares with mine. Also not really been suffering from the spit back with the rba section.
Coincidentally I got mine in right when this video came out. This little thing is heavier than I thought, it's sleek smooth black matte style is super nice and the RBA hasn't been giving me problems and I have had any problems with leaks either! 10/10 so far:D

hey RiP, I have the black and the white version, love em both. The white one comes with a white and a black drip tip also. And as far as O rings, most every vape shop sells Kanger Orings in multiple colors for like $4. I'm using a 90VG juice and getting the odd dry hit if I pull too fast, so slow steady pulls is the way to go with the .5 coil. Best "kit" out there for the price range.
Bought this a couple months ago and can also vouch for it's awesomeness. One warning don't leave it in the car if you're in hot climate it does like to leak when it warms up.

i bought the smok R80 TC with TFV4 Micro tank. so loving the vape production from it and the flavor production and the best thing is that the mod has a temp control mode as well as a wattage mode

Jacob Jones what wattage are you vaping at? I don't insist on my build to be correct, but I either get a dry hit because there is too much cotton, or a spit back, couldn't get to the middle, though, I tried a lot
Iv had mine since the day it hit the market in the UK, it's a great product, you can get spit back on the RBA but you just have to play with your build and how you wick.
Personally I use twisted 26 or 28 A1 and Drago cotton, prefer how it wicks the flavour it produces is 100% better that JOC and dry hits don't taste no where near as bad, all though it is more difficult to work with! .. ( just like rip says..' This is all subjective! Which is what a lot of you don't seem to understand..)
I use mine on a daily basis, I take it everywhere with me and after about 2 months the 'ceramic coating' has worn away on all the edges and is starting to wear on the body it's self so just keep this in mind....
I use a dripper on it to but you CANNOT build below 0.3ohms, also if you have something like a Nixon dripper where the airflow is controlled at the base it sits too close to the deck to be Able to adjust the airflow so you have to use something like a Kepler heat sink (found on eBay £6) then it works as it should.
I had a lot of leaking problems with this tank. Juice would leak out the air flow slots at the bottom.. I fixed it by changing the bottom o ring that I got from a friend. Extra o rings should have been provided but apart from that I'm very pleased with this mod.
I got the white version. It is nice but I noticed a few of things with mine.
1) There is a 3 second delay between pushing the button and actually starting to push current through the coil. This happens on any wattage setting.
2) The white coating on the tank has gone inside the air adjustment ring and makes it really hard to turn the ring due to added friction.
3) The battery cover does not have a very strong magnet and the fitting is not perfect so it moves up/down and it does create a gap. I have it installed the right way.
4) The voltage reading on the screen shows 0v until you actually press the button. So you need to vape to see the voltage or you need to press the button and burn juice without vaping it.
5) I have the old style RDA from another Kanger Mini and I think it picks up the juice better than the new one because the old one has the juice tunnels at the bottom which allows the last drops of juice to wick into the cotton. The newer one has them on the sides and wastes approximately 1ml of juice at the bottom of the tank.
6) Pressing the button 5 times to turn on/off sometimes does not work. It looks like the timing must be right and not just the number of presses. Can be annoying when you try to turn it on/off in a hurry.
Had to mention some of the above as problems. Especially 1,3,4,5 and 6 since they are design problems and not related to manufacturing of a specific piece like 2.
BinarySounds oh and it's a shame that the drip tip on the new tank is plastic instead of metallic like it used to be. However, my drip tip was not a tight fit like yours. It fits perfectly in terms of diameter. Another disadvantage is that the part of the tip that goes into the tank is not as long as the depth of the hole in the tank. This little gap created between them gathers a lot of juice and makes things very messy when you pull the tip off.
I bought the white one and it actually comes with 2 drip tips. A white and a black. Also if you keep the wick a bit longer on the rba it doesn't spit. Just a tip for ya. I've had no problems with spitting. My favorite by far.
I haven't had any issues with spitback because I build vertical coils IN the RBA section. Easy to do and you get the airflow/wicking benefits.
I love this kit, upgraded from a Vision Spinner II and Pro Tank II and damn what a difference lol always great flavor from the included .5ohm with every juice I've tried between 25 and 35 watts. Gonna start building with the RBA and see what kind of coils I can make and get away with lol

Nice unboxing. I got the white one. Anyways just wanted to share with u a solution, sort of, about the juice spitting Kanger RBA. I found that if you push the coil down, right on top of the air-hole, it helps. It's not a Kayfun, so no need to lift the coil. But don't touch the build deck, else it'll short circuit. But u know that already :). cheers and love your Channel.

I got one, it's pretty good. You know, they could have just reversed the polarization on the magnets so that the battery cover would only attach one way. That'd solve the upside-down cover problem.

BTW, this thing is built like a tank. I've dropped it several times on concrete (don't keep it in your lap while you're driving, and forget about it when you get out of your car) The finish scratches easy but the damn thing won't break. Totally awesome unit.
You can get replacement o rings/seals from Kanger. We carry them at our shop. Red, Blue, Black, Pink or White. They are pretty cheap too.

I think it might be just how you're wicking it. get it closer to the holes on the side and it shouldn't have that problem.

I have the original KBox and if I had known they were making this product I would have waited for this kit. It has everything that I wish the original mod had.
I love the box it comes in as much as I love the subox the kit has got me into building my own coils had a smok m22 before this and was vaping 50/50 juices butt now im trying higher vg juices on higher watts
Had mine two weeks now and love it, already on my second 0.5 ohm coil, the mini rba isn't my favorite as it seems to spit too much, overall I'd recommend it.
I just want to say that I would highly suggest that this mod is one of the best mods I have ever vaped off of you get so much flavor out of it as Rip said.... You get a good vape out of it. ITS AN AMAZING MOD!!!
I have had this device for a month and... well I ran mine with a mutation x v5 clone using 24 gauge at .3 ohms and 50 watts. It ran like a boss for a month but.... it has died. And kangers return process is nothing short of a pain in the butt. So even though they list it's capabilities of .3 ohms and 50 watts, I don't suggest it. It just can't handle the heat. I first started to get "temp high" warnings so I decided my 4 day old wick may be do for a change. Did so and used extra cotton around the center post to help keep it cooler and everything was fine. That night I put a fresh battery in and woke to a drained battery at 1.9 volts. I removed my rda and put a fresh battery in and came back 8 hours later (still with no tank on it) and my battery was again drained. So I'm guessing it has a short. 3 days of back and forth with kanger and my retailer and I know have my final instructions on how to return. If I did not save my kits box and everything it came with I would had problems returning as well. If I get a new one and it dies I will not even attempt to deal with kanger or my retailers products again. I love kanger products but will only purchase products I don't mind just taking a loss on if they die on me again. On a side note. At first email kangers basically told me they were to big to deal with their customers and that their retailers are instructed to take care of customer returns. My retailer didn't seem to think so. After about 20 emails between both, taking photos, verification processes, instructions, getting retailer info, etc.... kanger said they will take care of me. I haven't sent the stuff back because it has burnt me out doing all this, but I will next week. Let's just say I don't have high expectations on a quick return. On another side note. I bought a tesla hybrid as a temporary carry mod replacement that burnt the cap out of my hands and could had set my car on fire. I used the 510 plate and a tested rda and I'm still using that rda setup on other mods now. The tesla hybrids firing pin spring had some issues and continued to take power from the battery without putting power to my coils. When I grabbed it the mod was hot as hell and burned me good. I took the spring out later and noticed it looked like the spring was burnt. I could had put cotton in the firing button spring and just vapid from that thing. Lol so kanger and tesla are coming out my arsenal. I don't take quality control lightly. These are dangerous devices that require lots of responsibility, I do my part, I only ask that the manufacturer do theirs.

I like the Kanger Subox Mini Starter Kit. I think its the best starter system for the beginning vapors and that just how I see it. I own two of these and one I will just give away the other I will just leave on my vaping shelf as part of my growing collection of vape gear. Its a nice kit, it looks good, it works.
Do have to say, I've got the white one, and I absolutely love it, I've thrown a few RDA's on it, and the tank is fantastic, but the airflow seems a touch restricted to me, but really it's not bad at all. I got the white one because it comes with an extra delrin tip for the tank, worth every cent I paid for. the one caveat I have with this device is to turn it off, it doesn't always detect 5 presses, you can press the fire button till it turns off. once you get it off it will always turn back on at 5 clicks. just a bug with the software, not a deal breaker for me.
I bought it off a website for $80 as well but was also able to get two batteries and a single bay charger overall love this vape would definitely recommend.
