- I look at the revolutionary cinema format that widened and curved the screen, the lasting impact it would have and why Cinerama itself did not last long.

Seattle had its own Cinerama theater for years, and I was fortunate enough to experience it before moving to California in 2018.
Thank you so much for doing the cinerama video!!
I remember watching Ice Station Zebra and Gran Prix as a kid. They were very impressive.
Nice Video!
hmm interesting I didn't hear you mention anything about animated films released Cinerama but maybe most animated films like lady&the tramp preferred to use Cinemascope instead
No animated films were released on Cinerama. "Sleeping Beauty" was projected using Super Technirama 70 film, but it never played on Cinerama screens.
@@MrCoat thats nuts
@@MrGabeanator There is stop motion animation in WONDERFUL WORLD OF THE BROTHERS GRIMM, which Warner (who owns all the MGM films to 1985) just recently restored. All Cinema films have now been restored, but some might need further work. Still, its great this finally happened.

@@MrGabeanator Also, it was not until a few years ago that SLEEPING BEAUTY was shown in its original 2.55 X 1 frame because but he time it was finished, the need for optical sound on the 35mm film prints of CinemaScope releases (reduction prints in this case from Technirama) caused all scope formats to go to 2.35 X 1, so the 2.55 debuted on Blu-ray but NOT on a Cinerama or other scope screen! Like the MGM shorts (esp. TOM & JERRY, just issued on Blu-ray a few weeks ago, by coincidence) could offer great color, but definition was cut down because you cannot get that in a scope frame with scope cells. SLEEPING BEAUTY was a rare exception being in a larger frame format. Most other animated widescreen or large film frame animation usually amounted to opening feature film credits.
