Hi, i am 14 and i am getting into mopeds because i want to have transportation so i can get a job when i turn 15. I am getting a 4 stroke tao tao 50 tomorrow. I am a great mechanice and ive been around everything with a motor all of my life. I was wondering if you had any tips for me. I am getting a 105cc big bore kit and the blue cdi box. I dont know what kind of carb to get so would like to know what your favorite carb is. I am very light and i am looking to try and get it going pretty fast. Just wanting some tips and tricks sence you have been in it for a while. Thank you for your time.
A 20mm carb should be fine. : 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/11639/real-20mm-carburetors-fakes-pictures?page=1 Spend time getting the carb and CVT dialed in, and I'd choose sliders : www.49ccscoot.com/faq/faq.html 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/1199/modding-roller-weights
I also watched your vid where you tested cdi's and then you did a free mod. Have you tried puting a performance cdi on after you did that free mod, or would it just not work.
I like it. I work on other things, like lawn mowers, and sometimes it's easier to use the old fashioned style, but generally this is my go-to. The old style is available really cheap, so if anyone works on cable setups a lot I'd just have both around.
I didn't stop making videos. I just haven't done "project" vids lately. I got off track with the TaoTao because I was enjoying my two-stroke too much, but I am hoping to get back to that. The 2T that died on the way home from the beach is still apart. I would like to get it back together again for the car show in Ocean City in May. I've got a new cylinder kit for it, but I need to check out the crank.
This is the only one I know of just like it, but to be fair I haven't looked since I got this. It should do most cables on a motorcycle. There are other types of cable lubers out there if needed (though I'm not sure that they do much larger) and some DIY tricks here on RUclips as well that may work with big cables.
Thank you so much! The taking the cables off the carb is the way. Too many curves at the handlebars on our 94 Ultra.😊
That seems to work really well. Never used one like that before.
Great detailed explanations. Well done, thanks!
I didn't even knew that lubing the cables as a thing... thanks man!
Sure is. Keep 'em lubed if you want 'em to last.
THIS is how YT video tutorials should be made!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Miss your videos man , you haven't post anything from a while !

It would only aggravate the starting issues by advancing more at cranking RPM.
Owen DeWitt what's a 'CDI?'
JEFF WILLIAMS captive discharge ignition
Do you think this works better than the traditional style?

How come you stopped making videos? Whatever happen to the one the gernaded

quality video
Thanks!
Got one of these but it will not work with a Harley's clutch cable. Not good.
anything like this for bigger diameter cables?
