a splitting charge should be illegal, thats the most adsurd thing ive literally ever heard, im being so fr if i was penalized for how i choose to consume the meal im actively ordering and paying for... hell no, ive never walked out of a restaurant and i would walk out with that bs
@@AlexAngel34well still doesn't make sense to charge extra. If they're not that hungry and want to share, what's wrong with that?? It's better than getting their separate food and then leaving half of it to waste
@digitaltheidiot3618 charge extra no,but then there should me a fixed price a table should be paying up to depending on how many people there are. Are you joking thinking 5 people sharing 1 normal sized pasta dish is normal? Cmon now..
@@AlexAngel34 ofc it's not normal but I don't understand why they need to charged more for that. They r paying for the food (and service)so the price should only depend on how much food they r getting. Unless its a rlly busy restaurant since they r taking up more space, I don't see any reason for them to have to pay more.
As an American, that is unheard of and is kind of unfair. Why should they enforce what you do with your food once you’ve sat down and ate? I share meals all the time. Portion sizes in America can be so big.
european and literally no restaurant here does this either so i don't think it has anything to do with where you live but more so specific restaurants having strict policies all over the world
For lots of restaurants kids meals are offered at a loss - they lose money on them and make it back on adult meals. Lots of restaurants don’t allow adults to get kids meals for this reason.
Kids meals at most chains in my experience are actually sold at a up charge because theyre only half sizes or less of the adult entree but are usually more than half the price of a full entree
This is only a thing in very high end restaurants in the US, and even then generally only when the meal is LITERALLY split between the plates by the kitchen staff. The only place I've seen it implemented are somewhat nice restaurants ran by very cheap owners, in which case big red flag
Bruh sharing charge??? That’s wild also I let people order kid menu I don’t give a shit What if your on a strict budget what if you don’t eat a lot what if you have some sort of eating disorder
I order from the kids menu because I have Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder and typically the kids menu has stuff I can eat. No one has ever told me I can’t order off the kids menu.
The rules in America is crazy like no kids meals srsly? They are the best they have a main dish plus sides and some places do dessert and toys like yes less food but filling and you have abit of everything plus getting a kids meal is nostalgic it reminds me of my childhood and sometimes you feel like not eating a lot so you get a smaller portion which is the kids meals and it’s our money you can’t tell us how to use it yk
I think the most amount my friend and I have split was £63.89. We were at a wagamama's and that includes 3 adult dishes and a kid's dish (table of 5 teenagers in development) That was our first and last restaurant experience together for a long while
Actually restaurants in the US we have the kids menu, but actually I’m pretty sure they aren’t allowed to stop you from ordering from it even if you over the limit because it’s just you wanting to get a smaller meal or a cheaper one, so that policy is practically illegal, and a sharing fee is definitely illegal cause if you just get one food they aren’t allowed to choose how you eat it or what you can do with it that’s very much illegal.
Because kids meals are typically offered at a loss to encourage families to come out and eat. Selling an adult a kids meal is a loss of revenue with no upside because it doesn’t get families into the seats.
the kids menu food is always so good though :( and it’s really good for people who have sensory issues or struggles with food, plus some people have smaller portions of foods for various reasons i don’t like that kids menus are only limited to kids like why??
I can’t stomach a full meal at most restaurants, even in Canada, because the portions are pretty large. That’s why I don’t eat out. But if I ever decide to again I’d be so annoyed if I couldn’t order off a kids menu just because I’m an adult. I’m not wasting money on food I wont even finish bro, that’s so wasteful💀
I’m 5’10” and was able to pull off eating from the kids menu until age 20 or so. I did it because i feel guilty about the cost of food when I’m not paying, and because i have multiple food intolerances, but i never had to explain any of that to a server. Maybe I just looked pathetic enough that nobody ever questioned me, or maybe servers just don’t give a shit if someone eats from the kids menu while the rest of the family has adult meals
I don't understand age restrictions on the smaller portions bc it's for "kids" Like damn okay but I don't need a massive portion the kids portion is often so much better for me
me and my family went to a resturant somewhere in france idk where it was sorry and my mom was going to share a pizza with my sis and they said it was double the money 4 sharing so my mom said that she was not gonna eat the pizza so they said theyd watch her not eat the pizza we walked out of there. needing 2 pay to share is so stupid
If someone whats to charge me for splitting a meal, they aint getting my money. And an adult should be able to order a kids meal if they want to, not even just because its a cheaper price but the portion fills you up enough.
All of us saying sharing charge is unheard of... We just havent heard of it cuz we are part of the poors community and cant afford the nicer places that DO charge 😂😂
it's so dumb in America? In Poland, I can still get it, even if I'd be over 70, it costs the same as an adult meal, if a kid doesn't eat it, you can take it home for later, so it's not small portions either
This is like the third video I've watched where it explains Americans don't allow adult to order kids menu. Kids menu is literally just a smaller portion of the adult version. Why is this a problem? Like I genuinely don't understand. Half the profit is better than no profit at all.

no fair!
I don’t see a problem with an adult ordering a kids’ meal, because you’re paying a lower price for a SMALLER portion, which makes sense.
So real
I don’t see the point of stopping people ordering off the kids menu. Sometimes people just want a smaller portion!
