    We bought 44 acres and have done EVERYTHING ourselves. It’s A LOT of work but totally worth it. We aren’t building a house there it’s just a getaway spot. We had to put in a road, we put in a lil cabin (no water or electricity) it isn’t something you do and it’s done it’s a constant process… the trees, weeds and grass are always growing back…. Good luck with all you’re doing… enjoy the process

    Jaime! I’m so happy for you, friend! What fun to clear and build from scratch! We have been working on clearing too. Only for our sugar bush. It’s so much fun watching the trees come down but also a bit scary 😅.

    Absolutely gorgeous property, but wow... that is a whole lot of hard labor taking all those trees down and out, plus all the stumps! It always is more satisfying when you can do the work yourself, but sometimes it doesn't hurt to hire some help, especially when you are looking at so much hard physical labor. But that's just me... even in our younger days, my hubby and I wouldn't have taken on a project like this. We had our home built way back in 1986 on a lot in Virginia and we tried to keep as many trees as possible, although later discovered that was a mistake. They were already pretty big, and they just get bigger and grow bigger root systems! Live and learn. I wish you guys all the very best. I can't wait to see more updates on how your lovely lot turns into your Shangri-La!

    Your property is beautiful. I can see you taking us for walks in your woods. You could cut some wood rounds from your prettiest logs and use in decorating. My Sister has done this and it's gorgeous.

    I watched men cutting trees at my sister’s house. It was fascinating. They had to cut it in sections and attach ropes.
    Trees falling are so loud.
    Will you be having a fireplace in the house? Next investment: log splitter!

    Wonderful piece of property. Excited for you and your family. Are you going to have a source of heat that you could use the fire wood? Otherwise advertise wood for sale - I am sure folks would be happy to take it off your hands.

    • @BoredorBananas
      @BoredorBananas  2 года назад +2

      We will have a wood burning fireplace but this is too much wood to split and stack and keep moving ahead. We will sell the first two clearing of wood off and keep some of the last clearing to split and stack.

      I live in Wisconsin. We have a brush cutter we used. It’s like a weed whip but with a blade at the end instead of a string. It makes quick work of the brush. Like this: amzn.to/4dJTVlv
