Bikepacking from Todd, NC to Damascus, VA part 1

Overnight gravel and road bikepacking trip. Starting near Todd, NC where the Virginia Creeper railroad used to run to. Then connecting with the Virginia Creeper Trail in Whitetop, Virginia to follow the Virginia Creeper into Damascus. Camped out along the trail.

Thanks for your video. I've been looking at routes from Todd to Damascus and there are plenty of small road possibilities. Do you by chance have a GPS file you would share or perhaps mention a few of the roads you utilized, I can fill in the blanks. Yesterday from Whitetop I used Whitetop Gap, Farmers store, Whenlin ridge, tucker road, Coy ham, East Big springs, Willie Walker, Rich Hill, Three Top.

I found the route on ridewithgps. I don't know how to send it to you, but i think you have found it. Those road names are familiar. I know for sure we came up Three Top from Todd and also for sure Coy Ham, Willie Walker - that must be the route. I think even Farmers Store -so you are on it.
I think it would be really cool if you could ride the original train route from Damascus to Todd, but we were told that is mostly on private land in NC. This route had very little traffic and was about 30% gravel from Todd to Whitetop.
We were told there now is a route connecting the Virginia Creeper to the New River State Park - that could be a multi-day trip. May have to put that on my list.

3rd brother was going to ride his e-bike, but found out they are not allowed on the Virginia Creeper Trail! I guess there is too much traffic. So he just met us at the end and biked to camp.
