the thing you're missing is that calories in calories out is not true. There's too many things going on inside the digestive system and endocrine system when you eat
I don't think he was making the argument that milk is bad, he said that he used to drink a gallon a day. It is just higher in calories compared to the cashew alternative he suggests. I know there are other considerations like calcium content etc. but just in terms of calorie reduction without radically restricting or changing your diet, this seems like a worthwhile alternative.
