I did change quite a bit though! Be it intentionally or unintentionally - there's a moment where I completely miss the chord, but I saved it the best I could and I feel like it sounds pretty nice lol
For a good 2 weeks I was completely obsessed with this song. It kept playing in my head, I kept playing it in my car, at work, anywhere I possibly could. RUclips kept recommending me the 1hr looped version and I ended up looping that as well.
It was surprisingly difficult to play and it took a while to learn! Though maybe it's unsurprising considering I'm very unfamiliar with anything jazz. I tried to stick to the feel of the song as much as I could, I hope it turned out alright!

Wow, I have been spamming this song like crazy for the past couple weeks lol, pretty niche game so I never expected anyone I subscribed to to cover it! Pleasant surprise for sure, the video the original artist made singing it live is just sublime.

Nice playing! The jazzy flourishes sounded just right, and the sound was nice and balanced.
Your piano is well in tune, also. How often do you get your piano tuned, and do you tune unisons yourself? My tuner showed my how to do my own unisons...this is a blessing and a curse, since now I know what to listen for, and whenever a unison is bad it drives me nuts till I fix it.
Thanks! At first I tuned this one 3 times a year, but it's getting more stable now so I default to tuning 2 times a year! I'm pretty surprised that it's still so in tune, I can hear it's not as sharp as it was at first but usually, I'd already have given it its fall tuning. Though I guess this fall has been exceptionally warm, so it might go more out of tune as the heating season really begins.
And I don't tune my own unisons, I did ask my piano technician if he could show me how to do that but he was vehemently against it lol
@@Caliko Cool. I bought my piano brand new this year, and it's not very happy with my heat being on right now lol. I think I tuned it too early in the fall...whoops! Glad to hear your piano is stabilizing.
It often takes me 5+ minutes to tune a mid-range unison (low and high notes are harder), when it takes my tuner maybe 5 seconds (lol), so it's a time consuming rabbit hole. Maybe I'll get better with time.
I'm tempted to make a "amateur shows how to tune unisons" video to show/talk through the process...could be fun. Would need a big "do this at your own risk" disclaimer of course, and half the purpose would be so that real tuners could comment and tell me what I'm doing wrong. We'll see!

What's the process you follow whenever you start learning a new piece? Where do you start? Do you first learn the chords, the melody, and then all together or....? I'm actually doing some piano courses, learned a few left hand techniques and I find it quite difficult to just get a sheet and start learning it.

I’ve played for long enough that I don’t really have a process, I learn everything together immediately from the sheet music, but if you’re a beginner definitely try to figure out the left and right hand separately, get comfortable with both, and only then actually try and play both together! That’s how I was taught in my first years of music school. Don’t get discouraged, it takes a lot of practice! It will click eventually.

Ahhhhh, it's the mic placement this time lol, it seems I placed the closer mics too far this time, that's also tricky. I kept the settings the same, but yes, it's a pain!

Well, guessing cause it’s way more jazzy and not what I usually play ;) spicier harmonies aren’t for everyone, especially if you aren’t used to hearing them. Can’t please everyone all the time! I did enjoy the game quite a bit, though I didn’t get all that far
