So pretty! One of the things Tim Holtz does to get texture when he smooshes the inks and sprays them with water is to run his fingers through the inks in a zig-zag fashion then his smooshes his cardstock into the ink and he gets great texture.

Love that HBS has released 5x7 Embossing Folders and the Red Rubber Background stamps. l love your watercolor effect on your Cake. Always love perfect pearls. Cone Flower was definitely my first layered die I purchased from HBS❤️
I LOVE this card!! It’s so beautiful. The best way to get texture when ink smooshing, it’s best to use a craft mat (like the Tim Holtz blending mat). When you smoosh on a glass surface, the ink will just pool together. When you ink smoosh on the craft mat, the ink beads up, which allows you to get the texture.

Thanks for the idea about putting warped cardstock through a die cutter to flatten it.
I think when you use a non-stick mat, you can get blobs and texture a lot easier. The inks don't really bead up on glass. Regardless, your card came out beautifully! I love the flower and the gold "bloom" on the cake. And the colors are awesome too!

I also really appreciate seeing different ways of using product than their standard or intended way. I really want to try a dry emboss as well. So many fun options with this set.

I love the Lovely Layers series and I have that cone flower! Ironically I’m looking at your card and thinking about using an older HoneyBee cake set where the cake has 2 (or 3?) layers, and put roses around the base of each layer. From that recent roses layered set. I can’t decorate cakes to save myself and these days I don’t even cook them any more, so that idea is as close as I’ll come to decorating a cake respectably!
