I have mad respect for guys who customize aftermarket parts an make things work. Your channel reiterates that anything is possible even when it doesn't seem to be. You're a legend man💯💯💯
The look on Andy's face at 58:47, and the camera work/music - really sets the tone well for the series, I think. Well done, everyone. What a great looking truck
That first time the new build moves...even a few feet...on its own is a moment that you get to keep forever...I have a few of them, but the best was in 1981, when, after starting with a Chicken coop in 1973, Dad and I fired up the stroker flathead in the 40 Ford sedan and took it for a spin. Last licensed in 1960... Fresh black lacquer paint, him sitting behind the wheel on a cut down folding chair, and me on a couple cases of oil, holding a jerry can of gas between my legs, the fuel line going out the cowl vent to the 3 Stromberg 97s we had built from cores....hitting the pavement and seeing 35 years melt off of him in a smile I will never forget..I am sure I had one too. He passed two years later...but the car is still here, with me...
That was quite the list you had to take care of there. Nice lookin little Truck..Riche. .definitely got to throw a windshield into her, those things are a royal pain to install. You boys did a fabulous Job.
I would rate this build as the coolest one I've seen, no question about it! Personally not a great fan of patina, rather see a single stage paint job, but excellent concept as well as execution. Great Job Guys!
Wow Rich, this 55 is so bad to the bone!!!!! I look forward to each and every installment of the build. I love everything you guys have done to this sweet old girl, so happy to hear it run and move under it's own power..... keep up the great work. Thanks
Great video, brings back memories of high school, I had a 2wd and 4x4 S10, both 2.8's, would be awesome Little truck to win, all sorts directions you can go
Love watching this build. I have a 66 with very similar mods. I use the key for ignition & installed a start button where the cigarette lighter used to be... 😀
There are locks on the doors. Just use the latch that opens the door. If you pull to open, you push to lock or the other way. Lol I just showed my age 😅
This build series brings back memories of wrenching with some my best friends. Stupid motorcycle projects, silly car things, even landscaping and building projects. Thank you for reminding me of better days. Someday I'll get a dumb project again and drag a buddy into mashing a finger or two with me.
Great truck, filming and colab! Glad to see you here on the central coast, in Atascadero! Hope you got to see Montana De Oro and Morro Rock while you were here! Keep up the good work.
While most people use nutsert and rivnut interchangeably there is a difference. A nutsert is generally pressed or moulded or glued into plastic or wood or even stone . A rivnut or rivet nut is a panel nut that uses a flare that expands when compressed to secure it to a panel. Then there are panel and cage nuts and J nuts and T nuts.
This is an awesome build, that said, l have to say l cringed when the back fender lips were cut to clearance the tires 😬🤔, it will be much safer for the drive back home to Canada 🇨🇦 😀. BUT ... So much completed this time around, great crew. It would be nice to have your hosts come to Canada 🇨🇦 and build a rusted out car? Or truck? A van? Just so they get a feeling of what it's like to build here. Once they get their shop cleaned up? 🤣 Great idea Rich, and such a great truck to build! Are you concerned about anything 🤔 for the drive home? Rain? Charging? License & insurance? Flats? Do you have spares? Really, it should be a walk in the park! Enjoy and have so much fun. ✌🏻👍🏻🤘😎🌤 🇨🇦 😛.
I have really enjoyed this build with all the individuals involved. Lots of fun.. I sure hope you recheck the toe on the front end . It wax set to 3/8" toe out according to what the measurements were.
Final adjustment was 1/8” toe in, when it was 3/8” toe out, the one tie rod was stuck and the 1/2” had to come out of that side to keep things centered (ended up getting it)
Nice job on the Apache , the best to your crew , & you Rich. That windshield is a little sketchy, safety especially if your going on a cross country trip. What gauges are you going to use. Hugh Mc. Chicago, metro
You guys argue over beds and boxes but in Australia we call that a ute tub. In reality half of those get pulled off and junked from brand new and then replaced with alloy trays.
@Barry Soetorro That looks nothing like a ten year old rusty Canadian truck. I understand that not everybody likes patina, but we can agree that a surface patina looks very different from rot.
@Barry Soetorro I can understand thinking that way, but I see it very differently. Patina like that tells the story of that pickup over the last 60 years in a way that clean new paint can't. Also a contributing factor is that I'm too young to think that looks crappy. My whole life, crappy paint has been a '91 Geo Prizm with peeling clear coat, and this kind of multilayered patina has been Tow Mater cool. Totally different look and totally different feel.
Its Alive!!! Its ALive!!!....yeah man there is little things that need to be done, but it sounds fucking fast as hell man be careful... 😎💯✌an I have worked on a 55 chevy truck with camaro front clip and sbc
You have to build a burnout car. The best of Canada and America can meet. Vice grip garage and Deboss need to do a tandem burnout at freedom factory so then I can see my 3 that are on notification can be on one video
25:17 its a bed. You lay things down in a bed, you have creek beds and you dont sleep in those neither. rich, when you have a work truck and you have tool boxes on it you call those boxes, you cant call them both boxes Lol and a trunk isnt a boot niether, nor is a hood called a bonnet.
Oh where did the days of youth go, you boys are still young, and some are just outta skool even. Before y'all know it, y'all be watching some young men do what you did many years earlier, and then y'all be like some of us watchin y'all fellas doin what we once did many many years ago. Strange how fast 30 or 40 years go by, and it seems like only last week in your mind's, but then you look into the mirror, are your grand babies, that aren't babies no more come in the house to see you. Only they have your great grand babies with them, calling someone great grand paw. You think who is that fella that's in the mirror every morning looking at me, and who are those kids calling great grand paw at you wonder. That's when you realize that you dozed off watching the Canadians, and couple of young fellas from California building old pickup on the internet, but we're dreaming about when you and your friends were doing something just like that together back in the 70's. Y'all will understand one day, and hopefully y'all each will reassemble this time as the memories came back to me as I was watching y'all fellas doing the same thing except nearly 30 or 40 years earlier. Nice to see some things don't change, especially when so many things have changed, and so many of the people who you knew have gone that you once did the very same thing with.
So great to see it finally move under it’s own power, pretty awesome build all in all.👍
I have mad respect for guys who customize aftermarket parts an make things work. Your channel reiterates that anything is possible even when it doesn't seem to be. You're a legend man💯💯💯
rich did drive a brand new apache to high school - this is sentimental rebuild for him
BEST.COLLAB.VIDEO.EVER!

Just some good dudes having a fat time, love it 👍🍻
I would rate this build as the coolest one I've seen, no question about it! Personally not a great fan of patina, rather see a single stage paint job, but excellent concept as well as execution. Great Job Guys!
Lovely work on this build getting it this far. Seeing all the fabrication work is great, you don’t get that on TV.
Herculean effort to get that rig built on a driveway. Well done to all involved. I wish I could drive a ute as cool as that one.
Lots of good people on this build for sure. It runs and moves, great job guys.
Wow Rich, this 55 is so bad to the bone!!!!! I look forward to each and every installment of the build. I love everything you guys have done to this sweet old girl, so happy to hear it run and move under it's own power..... keep up the great work. Thanks
Looking good Rich! I love the...'that's future Rich's problem' saying. Hopefully clutch wont affect the brake pedal\switch. Keep on wrenching 🔧👍🔥
Great video, brings back memories of high school, I had a 2wd and 4x4 S10, both 2.8's, would be awesome Little truck to win, all sorts directions you can go
Super Fun video = Thanks!!!!!!
Rich and crew .... this presentation is equal to or better than the entire Avatar movie....cinamatography and script....A effin 1.
This channel has really grown on me over the last year. Loving it!
Good stuff.i am enjoying the build. Weld on cardboard, paint on rocks. I do the same. Make it work!
That's awesome! That's a great feeling having it together and running. I spent a week rewiring Edna and still ended up with a few bugs to work out
Love watching this build. I have a 66 with very similar mods. I use the key for ignition & installed a start button where the cigarette lighter used to be... 😀
Great stuff, gents!
Great crew Rich. It must be a dream to work with guys like that.
Best regards from Indiana, USA.
There are locks on the doors. Just use the latch that opens the door. If you pull to open, you push to lock or the other way. Lol I just showed my age 😅

This is such an awesome truck/build. So glad I got to see it in person. Great job guys!
This build series brings back memories of wrenching with some my best friends. Stupid motorcycle projects, silly car things, even landscaping and building projects. Great truck, filming and colab! Glad to see you here on the central coast, in Atascadero! Hope you got to see Montana De Oro and Morro Rock while you were here! Keep up the good work.

Don't blame Harbor Freight for your Home depot compressor :)
Unplugging the pcm controlled alternator plug reverts to internal 13.8 V regulation...
Blindklinkmoer (rivetnut/popnailnut). Greetings from the netherlands.
It’s not a box Rich. It’s a bed. Joe Diffie says so. The good news is it doesn’t have to be made.
I have really enjoyed this build with all the individuals involved. Lots of fun.. I sure hope you recheck the toe on the front end . It wax set to 3/8" toe out according to what the measurements were.

Awesome pick up 👍🇭🇲 ute
Awesome
Looking good! :)
Artist with a saws all. 😂. Well done buddy.and smashing u bolts will open them up. Do it all the time with heavy truck front u bolts.
Nice job on the Apache , the best to your crew , & you Rich.
That windshield is a little sketchy, safety especially if your going on a cross country trip.
What gauges are you going to use. Hugh Mc. Chicago, metro
you need 2 times the storage for the Plasma cutter and you can raise the pressure to compensate in the pressure switch they are adjustable!!
When you double up pieces to get thickness cut some speed holes in one of the pieces and rose weld them so connect them together much stronger
You guys argue over beds and boxes but in Australia we call that a ute tub. In reality half of those get pulled off and junked from brand new and then replaced with alloy trays.
Legends
Yes 👍
Badass Chevy
Another trick with plasma and water jet cutter is to start off the piece and cut onto it, it's hard to pierce but would be ok to cut it
I love it.
The DirtCenema guys are legends for this, what cool dudes...the Canadians are OK too, I guess.
best beats on the tubes! I appreciate you, you very white canadians! :)
videography is really impressive as well
All that time and hard work you put into this. It really deserves a nice paint job. Even if it's the original color. It just needs to be shiny.

need a higher cfm compressor for the plasma table, or run 2 or more in parallel to get the cfm flow you need.
Its Alive!!! Its ALive!!!....yeah man there is little things that need to be done, but it sounds fucking fast as hell man be careful... 😎💯✌an I have worked on a 55 chevy truck with camaro front clip and sbc
Anyone know where he got the cold air intake piping from? i swear it was mentioned but cant find it
It's not a bed or a box! Its a tub! Ask Al and woody :P
*tray
@@tedmacdonald4410 tray is different to what the have. Body/style side is a tub. Alloy/steel fold down sides is a tray
Saludos desde argentina amigo

In the states if it's enclosed like a uhaul it's a box lmao. Otherwise a truck bed .
