I have a Hobart MIG welder. I need to practice with it more (I rarely have a job that requires welding). I can weld but I’m not a welder, nor do my MIG welds look as good as yours, Jimmy. Really great work!!

You can do it! Just takes a bit of practice and good welding gas! Worst case a good grinder, haha. Making it strong is most important to me, appearance comes after.

Excellent job Jimmy! I don't own a chop saw either. I did all my cutting with a reciprocating saw. I'll have to get some cutting discs for the right angle grinder and give that a go. I always thought that the scratch start method defeated the purpose of tig welding. It seems that it is awfully easy to contaminate the tip. Perhaps Vevor sells a pedal kit. I don't think I would cut the handles on the stretcher/shrinker units. I would save them and make new rods for the pedals. This way you have a back up.

Yeah, agree 100%. I thought about the pull handles, but then I figured I could always weld them back together if needed? Hmmm

I haven't touched a tig welder since I was in college. We were practicing on aluminum and that was extremely tricky. The only thing that I do now is with a stick welder, I would like to have a Mig, but I only need to weld occasionally. I would never show my welding on RUclips.

Haha, I probably shouldn’t either, but at least I’ll be able to show progress over time. :)
