One of my favorite movies of all time. They took a lot of liberties with his story, but I still love it. They say it was never like this with Salieri. Oh well, it is still a movie masterpiece for me. :) "Mediocrities everywhere. I absolve you." Magnificent acting by F Murray Abraham. The most we mediocrities can do is marvel at pure genius, or get consumed by unrealistic envy at something that is just unattainable.
My most favorite movie, and with the soundtrack improved in this director's cut. And there are wonderful additions as well! I watch the full movie about every couple of years, and listen to the music frequently, danke Wolfie! I do believe that Mozart took dictation directly from God. And the movie is first class in each and every way, I love all the details that go into making it the incredible entertainment which it is. My favorite aspect is the integration of the music into the story, the editing. The peak of that in my mind is when Constanza is waiting while Salieri looks at the music she has brought to show him, and it changes and changes perfectly as he goes through the folder, wow!
Yours words make me cry...he is a genius the best classical musicians for all times
@@smllbrgt23 Aside from the soundtrack itself, I especially love his most performed operas, my favorites being those that Da Ponte wrote the librettos for, and the Magic Flute. Whether it's an aria or a chorus, Mozart makes sure the listener will feel the music BTW, thank you for your response.
He was only seventeen when he composed this symphony. 😱

I mean, I’ve seen many. Thus far Amadeus Is one of the best next to the symphony, the phantom, just to name a couple

In my opinion, they couldn't have picked anyone better than the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields under Sir Neville Marriner to do this soundtrack.
