  • In 2016, a little girl in our parish named Philomena was diagnosed with DIPD, a very aggressive form of brain cancer. As the parish and school rallied around her, they began to pray the rosary for her each day. On Sunday evenings, we would gather in the Church to pray the rosary for her, led by her friends and classmates - and sometimes even by Philomena herself. She had a strong faith, a remarkable love of Jesus in the Eucharist, truly looked upon the saints as her friends, and inspired many people to return to the Church and deepen their faith. Philomena died in 2017, and I believe she is now with her friends, the saints in heaven. Remarkably, after Philomena died, her friends did not give up the practice of leading the rosary on Sundays but instead now see it as a way of praying with her every week. We pray for all the intentions sent into the website Storm the Heavens and for increasing faith, hope, and charity in our troubled world. Please join our little saint, Philomena, and her friends each week as we pray the rosary. I hope it deepens your faith as it has for so many others!

I think you all did great! I want you to ask Father Olson about Mary's title Mother of God, where it came from, along with an explanation of Catholic Church teaching on the Mystery of the Blessed Trinity. Each Person of God is totally and uniquely God in and of Themself. Also the Treaty of Paris in 1783 that officially ended the American Revolutionary War starts with a reference to " in the Name of the Most Holy and Undivided Trinity ". Even today we need all the Blessing and Guidance from the Blessed Trinity that we can get. You young men did a great job. It was a pleasure praying along with you!
