@USGS does the 'global warming' seem to be having affect on thermal features within Yellowstone?

There is evidence that prolonged drought can have an impact. During a major regional drought about 650-800 years ago, there is evidence that Old Faithful went dormant. Similar responses to drought have been seen at other geysers, and there is a general correlation between the availability of water and geyser eruption intervals. So any climate shift that caused drought in the region could impact geyser activity. There's information on that in a couple of the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory's weekly "Caldera Chronicles" articles: www.usgs.gov/observatories/yvo/news/a-time-when-old-faithful-wasnt-so-faithful and www.usgs.gov/observatories/yvo/news/new-research-sheds-light-steamboat-geysers-eruptions-past-and-present.
