Looking in from Nz. Congrats on winning the auction guys. Well done. You have the perfect platform for a lot of fishing. I mean, a lot. Looking forward to what's in store. Take care and atb from across the ditch.
Been away filming for a while, but were back Magnus and Wendy. Wishing you success, and also Happiness!💯👍 Have a great week from Paul & Kathy in GB 🤝👍✊
I hope you will be happy when you see the boat in person. I would not consider buying a boat without doing a thorough survey especially spending that much money. Good luck folks. 💖⛵🐬
Excellent, New Adventures, We need to see all the Restoration please, a man of your calibre will do a brilliant job. I did think at the start "Why sell Nutshell because you wanted a Pet", then it dawned a Catamaran, not a Feline. (Lol). Enjoy this new adventure, Magnus & Wendy.
Well Magnus and Wendy. Really looking forward to Chapter 3 of your saga. Been following you since you had Nutshell the narrow boat. Still miss your beer reviews😅. Good luck with the new boat and look forward to seeing the progress you make.. 🤗👍🍻
Once you've repaired those areas upstairs, my final solution would be a waterproofing membrane then you could put whatever you wanted on top of that..... Bunnings have a few to choose from....👍👍
Oh Magnus and Wendy, how I and we have missed you! So glad to see you back in the saddle again with a third new adventure, hip hip hooray! Wendy, you look so pretty and especially with your nice hairdo. A long time watch her and listener from the beginning. So glad for you both and she looks super duper and can't wait down the line to see her all ship shape. Magnus you look good as ever but would look better with a shorter beard, no offense. You both are so interesting and delightful. Well I've rambled on and off so I will say so long for now. God bless you both dear people!❤❤
Hi Jim. We’re back! We’ve been working hard to be able to do this but it’s now time for this new adventure. Very excited! It’s going to be so different for us in our ‘new’ boat. W.
👍👍Looks like ~1/3 of the upper deck needs to be replaced, then fiberglass the remainder, and that is complete. Just the solar, as you mentioned. A haul out, will give you the rest of the required work list. Best wishes from Northern Canada.
That about sums it up. We’ll haul her out along the way. Firstly, we’ll get the basic safety work done. We have a backup for power if the systems on board aren’t up to scratch. We’ve got a Bluetti which is fabulous! W.
Wow! You have began what I had been dreaming, but is fabulous your both still young and agile and able to follow thru with a dream....Well done guys, stay happy healthy and thank you in sharing your life with us..Cheers.👍
Your past sailing adventures in the Kimberly were my most favorite. Couple that with my long-time dream of living on a houseboat, nirvana for me. You bet I’m going to be following along! All the best, you guys.
Good on you. Magnus and Wendy! I'm all smiles for you guys. Great adventures ahead, I believe. The Kimberly's in a house boat, pretty cool! Cheers, Rog
Wow! What an amazing adventure this is going to be! So looking forward to following along on this new adventure, it's going to be so different than your ocean crossings, a bit more like the narrow boat days - but with a much more versatile and comfortable boat. Well done you! Just think what you can do with all that extra space: Have a proper workshop! Do yoga! Dance! Have dinner parties for ten! Give art classes! Take up weaving and have a loom! Adopt a big boat dog! Host tupperware parties!🤣 Looks like that port quarter needs a bit of repairing, from the top deck possibly all the way to the sole of your master cabin? Will you do the structural work before you set sail, or somewhere along the way?
Thank you, Gary. We are looking forward to getting stuck in to the boat jobs. Magnus has already removed meters of multicoloured cables from the systems! Housekeepings everywhere! W.
Lovely to see you two again. Well this venture is a surprise and exciting , there is lots to explore all the way up into Morton Bay and if you want to stay over in Mooloolaba I can guide you up to the free anchorage at the "duck pond". All the best, Roger
Hi Roger. I still have that $50 you sent. I might just spend it on a few beers in Mooloolaba. We look forward to meeting you. There will be lots of exploring along the way.
Hi Wendy Magnus. I am so excited that you have bought a new boat. I can't wait to see how The Boat' turns out. I have been watching your adventures since the beginning. A fantastic new adventure awaits! Sending love Sarah xxx
You two are amazing. Cant wait to continue to follow your adventures. Seems like an age since we met at the Crick Boat show. Good luck with all. Andrew
@@LifeinaNutshell I can't wait for the next episode, hope to be in the same position soon so everything you are doing is priceless , still tingling over the auction results :)
Congratulations! Sounds like she has a LOT more space for the human kids and the fur kids to visit as well. Wishing you both well with the new adventure!
Congratulations and cant wait to see this new journey and it dosnt matter if you mix the past with the present sometimes that makes a change again congrats regards Doc from Melbourne
Fantastic news. Looking forward to seeing all the restoration videos and your subsequent adventures. Did you ever discover why the boat was a write-off?
What the heck? OMG, a sailing houseboat, to the Kimberly’s….has that ever been done? This is gonna be epic, love you guys! I have a houseboat, 24’x55’, it’s really a huge sail by itself and so different than a sailboat, it all started with a trailer on pontoons back in the day! So many upgrades since then, all done by my father in law and us, fun to drive and we absolutely love it. Finally, something I do know about pretty good!
I doubt it’s been done before. There aren’t too many boats propelled by kites that we’ve seen so far. It’s going to be an adventure! We’re looking forward to getting to know the new boat and the LibertyKite wing system. W.
Looks like you’re going the same as Gary and I. We are still trying to sell our beautiful SV Julianne as we purchased a huge power boat. What a change from the sailing vessel but this is more like a real home in fact bigger than our small home in Tuscany. Enjoy your new home. Hope some day to meet up again - in italy or UK
I sold my ketch (which I bought on Hope Island) and bought an engineless (wheres that kite!) 30ft Bayliner which is so much more comfortable than the ketch. I was in that car park you were driving around in in 2017 and fell asleep there in the early AM after driving over 2200km. Nothing beats the thrill of buying a boat
We loved the ketch but life is short and we wanted to explore places that we couldn’t get to in her. We’ve done our ocean passages so we’re now going to experience coastal cruising instead. TheLibertyKite means we’re able to afford a boat which has space plus the advantage of the wind to ‘inexpensively’ get us places. W.
Hey kids, long time no see! Happy but Very surprised by your purchase of a House boat! It should allow you much more comfortable cruising and room to stretch out. Looking forward to continuing with your adventures! Will you be hauling her out prior to any trips?
How exciting! I’ve watched your channel since the NB days. This year I sold up and, bought a houseboat, and now live on the Murray River, just outside of Murray Bridge (obviously river cruising). I’m in the process of putting electric outboards on my boat (or floating apartment). I’m looking forward to see what you do, especially the sailing part 😻
Hi Deb. Yes its all very exciting. We have been looking into electric as well. It's a long road. The sailing part is step #1. The kite we are using is at www.navtrak.com.au
