I love how much your own thought process changes once you really get used to dodge offset. I used to think that Bayonetta was "that game with the slow down mechanic". But once you dive deeper into it, everything is centered around dodge offset. It's such a beautiful feature because it isn't immediately apparent to a newcomer - it isn't as flashy or impressive as witch time, but if FEELS so amazing. It took me an oddly long time to really get the hang of it, it feels so flowy and energetic!
another cute and quirky fun fact is that there is also "damage offset". if you get hit by an enemy during a combo while still holding the attack button, you will continue your combo after the damage animation. as far as im aware it only works with the standing damage animation - the other animations that knock you back or into the air wont let you continue your combo.
Nice lesson👌 I adore how deep mechanics run, like you actually don't need to dodge offset to taunt offset you just need to time using taunt in between your combos. Who thinks of adding that to a game? The Devs really had a stroke of genius designing Bayo.
Thanks for the wonderful guide! I knew a bit about offsetting, but the way that it was explained to me was very linear and not very adaptive. This gives a much more in-depth look into how different types of offset can be used, as well as how offsets should be fundamentally performed rather than just bashing random buttons and hoping the input registers.
I really want to master dodge offset but at most times I use relatively easy and effective YBY offset. Maybe I'm just bad at eye-hand or brain-hand coordination and complex combos w/ dodge offset are too hard for me. Your video is great anyway.
there is a lot of videos about how to grind halos, in the second athem of charapter 2 you can farm like 400k in one run and is very easy if you know how to play
Please use your own voice on RUclips videos - always. Subtitle it if you're worried about being hard to understand or whatever, but use your own voice. Text-to-speech voice is so grating and feels so "low quality meme-y". Like you're not taking your video subject seriously.

I think it is more flashy than witch time❤

EVERY fighting game should have
1. Dodge Offset or some version of
2. A practice world
3. Combo listing with # of times you've used it
Hideki Kamiya is a fucking genius.

I didn't know about the cutscene offset.
What I did know was about inventory offset, but its use really halts the flow of combat
3:37 after 250 hours I didn't know it was possible to do pause combos with offset.❤

Great job. It'll be great to have another video to point new players to besides the yoshesque one!
Yoshesque is really good. Hopefully mine is helpful thanks :)

Holding your combo is the easiest way to do it. You'll get used to it easy.
Ah yes, Bayonetta's, EVER SO SIMPLE, dodge offset.
thank you for all this wonderful information
Thanks for the guide
I've been playing all three games and I haven't even mastered the the game itself but I do get a lot of platinums in normal mode.
Omg thank you
thank youuu SOO muchhh for this, I knew nothing about the taunt offset - and how do you unlock Sai fung??
You have to have completed any chapters 100 times that includes replaying and completing any you want.
Complete 100 chapters. Doesn’t matter which ones, but Vestibule and the Balder fight are the shortest, so I recommend grinding those.
I really want to know how u get so many halos??? It takes me forever just to grind 100K
