You call out to me from somewhere within my fragile soul Your voice like fantasy, telling me to keep on dreaming I can’t stop these tears from flowing, or the ache inside my heart But on the other side of sadness, I know I’ll find you waiting there Even if we fall, we see the boundless sky up above Each time we gaze upon it, the blue seems to renew Our spirits as we walk on this long, lonely road The end can’t be seen so we must embrace possibility As I bid farewell, my heart stops, in tenderness I feel My silent body begins to listen to what is real The wonder of this life and of death’s tranquil mysteries The wind, town and flowers all dance in sweet unity La la la la la la… You call out to me from somewhere within my fragile soul Your voice like fantasy, telling me to keep on dreaming Why speak of sorrow, or life’s oh so painful woes? Instead let those same lips, sing a gentle song of love Never forget these memories so they may forever guide you Heed their murmur, the undercurrent of life streaming through Even if your dreams break, nostalgia will always remain To remind you that those dreams glimpsed at what is precious, dear and true Windows of beginning, stillness, new light of the dawn Let my silent, empty body be filled up and then reborn No need to search outside, or sail across the seven seas Because shining here inside me, it’s right here inside me, I’ve found the light of your voice; it has always been with me La la la la la la…
I don't know why but I had to cry so much every time I saw the last scenes and finally heard this wonderful song. Secretly I always thought Haku couldn't see her again and that's why he said not to turn around. Somehow the end was always very sad for me, although it is actually not if you consider the facts. But she leaves this magical world and returns to her normal life. And it always hurts me so much when she goes back. In any case, this film is a very nice memory of my early childhood. And I definitly never want to lose it...
In the end scene when they find the car all covered in leaves, i did notice that the enterance to the tunnel was all overgrown and covered in vines. I can only assume that when haku said for her not to look back, is because she was exiting the spirit world and it would have startled her if she had looked back in the field to see no sign of the spirit world.
They are still there... She just lost the ability to find the way back after she embraced her adulthood. I she looked back then it means she wish to remain there like her parents did and she'll not be able to leave
Miyazaki actually said that Chihiro thought that her trip to the Spirit World was a dream, which means she doesn't remember anything when she came out of the tunnel.
this movie always freaked me out as a kid, but it was my mom's favorite so we would watch it all the time. but no matter how much the movie made me sad, nervous, and freaked out, this song at the end was like a loving embrace. it always made me feel better.
Moral of this song: Sometimes a deep friend of yours is very far away, out of reach. But remember, as long as they live in your heart, they will always be with you!
This was the anime that got me into anime. I saw this in Japanese class then watched the rest of it and was hooked. Since then I have seen over 5000 episodes of anime at around almost 200 titles.

Just discovered this amazing song today when I finally saw "Spirited Away" and this song broke my heart with its beautiful and meaningful lyrics. This is one of the songs I'd like played at my funeral.
when i was little, i woke up in a field on a sunny day. i sang this song aloud for the world to hear. i heard someone familiar start to sing with me, but when i turned around, they were gone. i ended up waking from a dream and cried. nostalgia of my childhood now hits me hard w/this song. X3
So glad I decided to watch it today for the first time, 18 years after it's release. And I can easily say that it's truly a beautifully-crafted masterpiece 😊
I watched spirited away when I was 3. I finished the movie ad this sog played. I watched this movie yesterday again ad when this sog played ad I was so much nostalgia that I was about to cry.
I cry like a fucking baby every time I hear it and this whole movie has the power to turn me into a gross sobbing mess. It is beautiful and joyous and sad and touching all at once and I'm still mad at how good it is.
I feel like spirited away is everyone's childhood movie.. When I was little I never even heard of it... And now I'm crying way more tears than at the movie's ending.
Such a beautiful song and singer. My childhood fav ghibli movie! and I love all ghibli movies! I can't say in words how much I really love this song and Ghiblis studio movies! ARIGATOU GUZAIMAS MIYAZAKI SAMA!❤❤
I was 13 and at a block buster when I picked spirited away for no other reason than it’s cover. I’m almost 30 and can’t get enough of studio ghibli and my children might actually be more obsessed than me now :) will forever be a die hard fan and will always remember that day after school I became hooked ❤️
I'm sitting here, crying with hundreds other crying people who's souls strings were disturbed by this beautiful song and Spirited Away. If you're reading this and you're crying just know that you're not alone. You are a beautiful human being and you deserve all the love in the world. Have a warm tight hug! Be safe!

yondeiruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu oh man its 2019 this year and im stil listening to this song and i rewatched the movie.... studio Ghibli you nailed it again i appreciate it
Man, I remember watching this when I was in 3rd grade. I finally got the chance to watch it again since I found a copy at the book store. Totally worth the $30.
The song of my childhood back when it was all simple I wish I could live it again I remember talking about this all the time to my friends including howls moving castle at school in kindergarten and they were all just like what? My love for Studio Ghibli movies was because of my mom buying this movie for me
Movies like this, Kiki's Delivery Service, The Flying Castle and the one where the girl is a fish and turns into a human and befriends a boy? Yeah, these are some of the best experiences in my childhood. I plan to show my kids and grand kids these kinds of movies.
I just figured out that my teacher is friends with the person who made the lyrics for this song, he used to live in Japan, he is now teaching World History I and he can also sing this song perfectly.
This song makes me feel happy & sad at the same time. Who agrees that her voice is beautiful???
Percy Jackson Ahmen

I'm so sorry to hear that but now every time I hear this song I will think of her so she is never forgotten. ❤💞❣
Given the meaning of the lyrics, it is indeed very appropriate. Such a good use of this song.

I want to learn japanese! Such a beautiful language!
buena suerte con eso yo estoy aprendiendo un poco biendo anime
+MelodyTaintedHearts Clay It's surprisingly easy when your get your head into the studying. Learn Hiragana and Katakana first. These are super simple.
+Mark James you kidding, Hiragana and katakana aren't so easy to learn, but it's true that the oral language was rather simple if you ad a minimum of logic (and love for japanese culture) ! And don't forget that Kanji come next... Whatever, one of the most sublime music of Joe Hisaishi...!!!

You call out to me from somewhere within my fragile soul
Your voice like fantasy, telling me to keep on dreaming
I can’t stop these tears from flowing, or the ache inside my heart
But on the other side of sadness, I know I’ll find you waiting there
Even if we fall, we see the boundless sky up above
Each time we gaze upon it, the blue seems to renew
Our spirits as we walk on this long, lonely road
The end can’t be seen so we must embrace possibility
As I bid farewell, my heart stops, in tenderness I feel
My silent body begins to listen to what is real
The wonder of this life and of death’s tranquil mysteries
The wind, town and flowers all dance in sweet unity
La la la la la la…
You call out to me from somewhere within my fragile soul
Your voice like fantasy, telling me to keep on dreaming
Why speak of sorrow, or life’s oh so painful woes?
Instead let those same lips, sing a gentle song of love
Never forget these memories so they may forever guide you
Heed their murmur, the undercurrent of life streaming through
Even if your dreams break, nostalgia will always remain
To remind you that those dreams glimpsed at what is precious, dear and true
Windows of beginning, stillness, new light of the dawn
Let my silent, empty body be filled up and then reborn
No need to search outside, or sail across the seven seas
Because shining here inside me, it’s right here inside me,
I’ve found the light of your voice; it has always been with me
La la la la la la…

This is a good song to play when you feel like an important chapter of your life has ended, and you can reminisce on the memories you made.
I feel the same. I used to listen to it a lot when my grandmother died a few months ago, it really did feel like it was the ending of a chapter. 🌸
Exactly what I'm doing now

I just want Haku and Chihiro to see each other again...I'm cryin
I listen to this every night as I go to bed as a sort of lullaby. It’s like whenever I listen to this song it feels like everything is okay
I think she wasn't supposed to look back because she would remember
Reminds me a bit of Orpheus and Eurydice.
My interpretation was that she was told not to look back because Haku wanted her to leave the past behind. Just a theory though.

It's calling, from somewhere within my breast
I want to always dream of dreams that make my heart dance
Though the sadness is countless
I'm sure that beyond it, I can see you
With each mistake they repeat, people
Understand the blueness of the plain blue sky
Though the road may seem to continue without end
These hands of mine can embrace the light
The silent heart when the time comes for parting
The body, which will return to nothing, listens closely
The mystery of living, and the mystery of dying
Is the same for all, even the flowers, the wind, and the streets
It's calling, from somewhere within my breast
Let's draw our dreams, countlessly forever
Rather than saying all there is to say about sadness
Let's use those same lips to sing softly
Listen to the whisper I don't want to forget
Within the closing memories
Even in a mirror shattered to bits
The new scenery will be reflected
The quiet window at the start of morning
Let the body, which will return to nothing, be satisfied
I won't search any longer beyond the sea
Something shining will always be by me
Because I've found it within myself
Good job buddy

Me and my sister always used to watch this film when we were kids and we love it, this song makes me so sad I miss my childhood so much :(
spirited away is the best movie that i ever watch
sorry for my bad english c:

i remember watching this film when i was about 5 and to this day this song still gives me goosebumps
Her voice is so just so BEAUTIFUL. Love it btw I'm crying right now.
Ponyo is the name of the fish who turns into a fish.
Reminds me of Chihiro and haku🥺❤️
I love watching these satisfying videos. It's my asmr, but adding "Itsumo Nando Demo/Always With You" makes me want to cry. That one always gets me. 🥺
this song makes me happy i feel like Japanese music it makes me calm like this :)
302 disliked this 😑...I kinda hate them for not liking it because her voice is soo beautiful
After watching this movie,
My heart felt very light, I had goose bumps all up my arms.
And I felt happily satisfied woth my day.
:)
Look for the other Miyazaki movies. That feeling is the base of his work ^^
I suggest Howl's moving castle if u didn't see yet
Just finished watching this movie 3 times in 3 nights , takes me back to the days of imagination and the beauty that comes with it.
No wonder it was so nostalgic, finally found it at last.
I love spirited away!
Haunting and beautiful...
Just like the home we all know and want to come back to.
I just figured out that my teacher is friends with the person who made the lyrics for this song, he used to live in Japan, he is now teaching World History I and he can also sing this song perfectly.
imagine Jin not just playing this on piano but singing it too
Feeling of nostalgia everytime I listen to this song
Cries....Literally....Too much emotion for me to hold...😖😖😭😭
There is no need for an apology in description this is beautiful thanks for putting on you tube .
