Guardiola's City's known for using the half-space as said by every player ever coached by Guardiola.. Madrid made tactical team choices that proved their downfall. Camavinga isn't an experienced left back and Militao couldn't do what Rudiger did in their previous match. If the back 4 would've been Carvajal- Rudiger- Militao- Alaba, things might've been different and City probably would've had a harder time to score..

    • @akashbhardwaj7835

U r on point....wid d back 4 u mentioned and with double pivot of camavinga n kroos/tchoumeni covering half spces where kevin n gunda were present and modric n valverde marking city's pivot of rodri n stones it would hav been difficult for city to float around soo much n literally humiliate n make madrid chase for ball. In this case Wid physicality, pace n ability to win n run wid ball of camavinga, tchoumeni players like kroos, modric, valverde could have been able to focus on what they really good at doing is distributing d ball n creating fast transitions where Karim n vini would have come into play which would have prevented walker n stones pushing up soo high soo aggressivly n valverde running on right side wid carvajal behind would have even pinned down akanji too n d game would have been more even. This humiliation is truly on Don Carlo because he picked the wrong midfield combo engaging his 2 best creative ballers chasing d ball n failing to win it even though he had players who are naturally best for dat kind of role thus neither they could win d ball nor could they even get out of their own third by stringing together 3 passes forget of getting out of their half n creativity.
City played exactly the way city always plays wid this setup, Madrids poor midfield combination, lack of pressing structure just made city look invincible.
In the 2nd half even though it was too little too late but after the changes Madrid were able to play a bit more. Dat exact thing should have been there from the very 1st miniute.
Last year Madrid won by defeating Psg, chelsea, City n liverpool bcz they had casemiro in d holding role who did all the tackticle fouls n won d ball back which allowed Modric, kroos, valverde these guys to be dangerous wid the ball n create deadly transitions, n also 1 more big difference was Karim was in form of his life last year but this time even when he got d ball 90% of the time he took way too bad touches.

    • @fablo7830
      @fablo7830 Год назад +2

Bit more complicated than the back 4. Real defended with 8 with Benzema and Vini as passengers and let Rodri go totally free to switch play, extra bad with a midfield of 2 senior citizens + Valverde with Kroos as the 6, they're gonna struggle a bit getting dragged around like that.

This 2024 season ..we'll have Rudiger, which we want him there...and Ancelotti has no choice but play him ..he so solid in CB which means no Haaland or Aleverz.
Now we have Jude Belligham who is a headache for Pep back in Dortmund, he plays for us now, he's aggressive, hungry and fuĺl of desire to win, he'll own Foden, KDB..Jude is free to do whatever with that midfield also down and up filling striker role as well, Tchoameuni who is our stop nonsense in DM role.
LB we have Mendy who doesn't take sh*** when it comes to defending...strong as f*** he was not there last time city played Real Madrid, this means no freedom for Benaldo Silver to do whatever like he did 2023😢 in that LB.

Kamavinga's yellow card was a referee's error: he pinched the ball from Graelish, this was not a faul.
Overall, Real players were too passive, at a distance and not entering into duels. The Real midfield was notoriously absent (Kroos, Modric, Valverde). The Midfielders defended badly only.
Also the 3-rd goal could have gone in, without Militao deflecting it.
Commentary channels find it easy to establish FAULTS AND ERRORS afterwards AND BLAMING PEOPLE.
Soccer is like life and inevitably comprises errors.
I would blame Real's absent midfield in 2 matches for this BIG lose.

3:23 I will never understand why English people whose full time job is to analyze international football refuse to learn how to pronounce the name of the most important German midfielder of this century. The "oo" in "Kroos" is pronounced as in "door" or "floor", not as in "rooster" nor "boost". It's not hard, come on.

I find the problem in a completely different area. Last match the reason Man city was so deadlocked on the offense because the rma's fullbacks were pressuring the wingers with little passing options because while both centerbacks are stuck to haaland to ensare him from any options, the midfield played a crucial role in closing any space and passing options right on the defensive line. With the example you showed Vini but especially Kroos were completely out of position and Camavinga's best option at that point is pressure and hope for a mistake because falling back leaves all the options to man city (which they already had with the midfield's defensive positioning)

let's hope they won't fail against a team that much weaker.... it will be a shame to win such a PL race, go through Bayern and Real madrid only to fail against Inter at the finals.
it will be very rough to watch.

I think you're putting too much credit on madrid who aren't actually a very good team. Let's be real (no pun intended), they were terrible last year in the champions league and were dominated by everyone and got lucky in every knockout game and somehow won it. They can't even win la liga even though all of the competition is terrible and has been since messi left

The only reason others are scoring so much is because everyone is covering Haaland and this is creating chance for other City players to score. Haaland might be the most heavily guarded striker but it gives a chance to others to score

I watched the second game twice already and Camavinga was getting demolished in the first half. He looked out of place and out of his league. And it’s not that he’s a bad player, he’s incredible. But as a left back against man city he was a fish out of water
