Man, no wasted time between the oops and adding the jack. Eager to see how she holds and curious to know how this now effects the way you pack it. I need to research to find a "hikeable hot tent". Thanks for sharing.

Hello. So sorry for not answering you back till now.
Haha yeah I wanted to post the video of installation right after that "oops" video.
It held great I used it Saturday night.
This tent is perfect for backpacking, it is light & compact.
      Hope this helps.
Tomorrow night I will upload the video about the 1st time actually using the tent.
      Thanks for watching.

Oh & I don't pack it any differently. It still rolls up & fits nicely in the carrying bag no problems.

@@superiorlifeadventures906 that's awesome. I was worried the silicone would harden and not roll nicely. No worries on response time, knew ya was out enjoying the outdoors, and from the cutting wood short you posted, I'm assuming the hot tent got a good test. 😂

Yeah that silicone I used stays flexible.

They make the same silicone in clear Velcro side up and you could make a cover for when you don't use a stove

Is it still holding a year later?

Super curious why you chose to silicone with the Velcro down. Wouldn’t you have gotten a firmer connection with better contact on the smooth side? That also would have left you Velcro on top to pop on a cover if you ever did want to use it without a stove I know that part wasn’t important to you though. I’m planning to do this to an ice hub shelter.

Hello sorry for the late response.
Well reason I did is I figured the silicone would squish into the velcro giving a better hold on that side.
& yes correct my only plan is a hot tent.

Silicone Velcro top side up and then use a blank stove Jack to seal. Otherwise there’s a hole in the tent if you don’t use the stove summertime

Hi, why did you use a silicone glue.
The heat won't reach the velcro.. So I figured any rapid glue would work.... 🙂

Thanks! I'll do this! Your dog is cute as he'll! Does exactly the same thing mine would do. What breed is that?
How did you find the silicone to hold up?

      Lol thanks
Not exactly sure on breed because he came from the pound at a young age with limited information.
Ne & the vet think chocolate lab / springer.
      The silicone held great!

Wet your finger when smoothing out silicone. It wont stick to your skin!

Seems like just using velcro would have saved you a lot of trouble.

    • @superiorlifeadventures906
      @superiorlifeadventures906  Год назад +1

Well that's the problem there was no velcro. Yeah I could have bought some but I was thinking it could get pulled off when taking the stove jack off...& since I have no reason to use this tent for other than hot tenting I don't need to remove the stove jack.

@@superiorlifeadventures906 As long as it works. I just bought a Stove Jack from Amazon. The video on Amazon shows the installer using glue, so I'll probably do the same. Happy Camping!

Yeah glue silicone whatever works...just make sure you don't pull off the velcro when taking the stove jack off.

I wonder how many people watching this video know what a “Yooper” is? I was born and raised a yooper, moved away after college.
