I think what Yu Zheng said is reasonable. Bai Lu has been doing dramas for a while unlike Wang Xinyue who is relatively new. Of course, Bai Lu is the bigger star. No need to be upset about it.

I especially appreciate the insights your celebrity updates give of the undercurrents of the apparently glamorous film industry.
Actors are subjected to mostly invisible "coercive" pressure from various directions .... this is nothing new but today, thanks to the insidious reach of the social media channels, more eye opening titbits come to everyone's attention.
I personally thank the producer who foolishly decided to reveal that the size of a production budget hinges heavily on the identity of the "top billed" actor & actually might not be directly related to the intrinsic merits of the IP or the screen script!
This revelation, in my book, is ironically to the ultimate benefit of both the actors mentioned. So for the powers that be behind the scenes, Bai Lu is entering the "aging" actress territory; she is no longer a fresh face & must earn her "top" billing spot every single time. WXY has achieved much in a very short space of time and this might not be to everyone's liking hence the push to keep him in second billing space for a bit longer. Who does not like having a "budget" friendly top performer heading the cast? Asian netizens can be a pain but their single minded support of their "favourites" also has an upside. The clamour made by the "fandoms" might just short circuiting the off screen "bullying & back stabbing" that would otherwise go on almost completely undetected for too long (as has happened in the past).

Dilraba looks good in all her costumes and headpieces. She's supposed to look 'otherworldly' so of course her costume and headpiece look different from normal. I think her detractors need to get a life! She's wearing a costume! It's not like she's going to wear the headpiece for the rest of her life. Besides, if it bothered her a lot, I think she could probably ask to have it altered somehow, since she's an A list actress.

Hi 👋; Looking forward to both of the upcoming ones and their premiere dates are around the time 2 of my dramas should be ending, so it’ll be the usual 3 (as long as they drop on our platforms); currently watching DNAD, YAMLF (has been dragging the last few episodes), and LITD (just started but great costumes and interesting storylines plus chemistry btwn both couples).
Both of those other trailers look great so def going to watch those.
That dumbass producer is at it again? Seriously? Does his popularity and ego suck so much that he has to resort to this type of behavior? WXY is very young yes, even I was stunned when I learned he was only 22. But he’s incredibly talented and I agree with his fans; he’s gotten where he is because of his own hard work not anyone else. And his comments don’t look particularly complementary to BL either. This YZ dude needs to eat a piece of humble pie. As for Dilraba’s costume, I personally think she looks gorgeous in it. I think the headpiece is very unique and very different from what we usually see in costume dramas. So her fans really need to just zip it and wait for the series to air. After all, she is an actress who has to act not just look pretty. If that was the only goal then she should just be a model in their eyes. Thanks 😊!

Hi. Really feel bad for these actors. They live thier personal and professional life on how thier fans dictate. Without fans they are nothing and with fans they are always under scrutiny. Also looks dominate and not acting... Can't they just accept it as they are and as things are?
Our DD has always been a target for toxic trolls since she started in the industry, they complained she was not Chinese China enough for any dramas, in The Long Ballad they complained her face was not Hans enough, in Eternal Love Of Dream, her costumes was too simple and look cheap, in The Blue Whisper, she was too thin and the list of whinging and whining goes on. Our DD has silently endured these ridicule for a decade yet she manages to stay strong and succeeded where other fails. Hate will hate but Alices will stand in solidarity for our DD.

Our DD did not make it this far through parents connections and deep pockets. She has worked hard and tirelessly to achieved this on her own merits. joseph zheng was too young for that role of a contemplative swordsman in snowy night timeless love. I would have loved to see someone more mature put some grit to the role!! The female lead looks way older than him. This role of huo zhan bai was for a more mature actor
Bailu and Wang Xingyue agent is just toxic! Bailu is probably just tired of playing almost the same role again and again, besides always working with same people. It's disgusting how he humilliated Wang Xingyue and kind of corned Bailu into accepting the role in the process. Who wants to see drama which is already stained

“The first shot” douban rating far far too low!
WXY got the parts through his own effort. His popularity rose when he did Amidst a Snow Storm. She wasn’t in that show. I think he has proven he can act with the Double and Amidst a Snow Storm. This director just loves controversy. As a director, would he hire someone for a major part if his ML or FL asked. I don’t think so.
Wang Xing Yue made his real breakthrough in The Double at age of 22. Even child stars don't make a real breakthrough until about this age. According to Wikipedia, Wang Xing Yue graduated from acting school (class of 2017) at age of 15! (he completed college) which shows that Wang Xing Yue has a lot of natural talent. He participated in numerous plays in college. He entered show biz in 2019 at 17 and played a main role. Then he signed with Huanyu under Yu Zheng in 2020 at 18. Yu Zheng started him off in supporting roles in his own production (Song of Youth) then later main roles as ml in his productions (Delicacies Destiny, Scent of Time, The Double). He also negotiated roles for him in other productions with Bai Lu (One and Only, Story of Kunning Palace). He got roles himself (Amidst a Snowstorm). But I think Yu Zheng underestimated Wang Xing Yue because with makeup and costumes, the right role, he actually can come off at least 5 years older due to his facial features, muscles, mature voice and aura. He proved that in The Double he can play a role next to fl who is 12 yrs. older. WXY was on the rise after Scent of Time, Amidst a Snowstorm, and SOKP, but The Double is the role that really got him his big breakthrough. He made the Duke become an iconic character. Yu Zheng had been waiting for Wang Xing Yue to breakthrough and now that he has, he will use him or Bai Lu, or both for his projects. It's probably more lucrative for him (royalties) to produce his own drama than to just collect fees for his artists in other productions. Yu Zheng says he decides for WXY but Bai Lu can choose for herself. Yu Zheng should have put WXY and BL together sooner in his own production, but he had no idea. And why is it that Wu Jinyan who gave YZ Yanxi Palace did not get to pair up with Xu Kai the following year, and now Wu Jinyan gave YZ The Double, why does YZ not talk about WJY pairing up with WXY?
Xukai and Xingyue breakthrough came out from their cp with Wu Jinyan they have both amazing chemistry with her. Their fans were clamoring for second collaboration but YuZheng never listened to their fans but instead has been given to Bailu. She’s the one harvesting the popularity of the 2 male leads created from their popular cp with WuJinyan.
I’m crossing my fingers that Xingyue/Bailu cp will not tarnish Xingyue reputation like XuKai and get mixed in in controversies with Bailu because she’s very controversial actress
