Sir Namaskar, it is a Great talk. I just heard CDS, said Kurukhetra, Kalinga, Panipat war. Kurukhetra and Panipat I understood, who was on Dharm side and who was on Adharm side. But in Kalinga war, I didn’t understand, who was on Dharm side and who was on Adharm side. Please ask CDS if he knows this answer. I believe he doesn’t know this. I need a impartial answer with noted history citation. Because as I am from Odisha, I still don’t know what was the scenario that time. Thank you!

Wonderful chat General. The CDS was very articulate on priorities. The big take away for me is the interaction required between defence, university, and industry. The challenge is the services have been very insular, the university academically oriented, and the industry service focussed. Therefore, there is a gap in services being able to articulate requirements clearly, students to understand them, and industry to be able to product manage these requirements. While MNCs have an experience in managing requirements, they are not trusted, and they should not be. However, it is clear that we do as we continue to import most of what we want. The difference between “what we want” and “what we need” is very large and sadly it comes only from experience. But the process has started.
Sir. For your age you certainly have a greater connect with the Gen NXT. Maturity is an important component for a successful execution of project which you have in plenty which is my observation over the past one year.

My salute to Gen. Chouhan Saab, Lt. Gen. Shankar Saab, IIT Madras Academics & Students. Many many thanks to you Sirs, for having given us much insights in your field of activities.
Shankar Saab, may I take this opportunity to present a concept which sprung to my mind, concerning artillery - integrating, the multi barrel rocket launcher, Pinaka, to a helicopter. The types of helicopters like Sikorsky Ericson heavy lift crane, could be deployed for this. Doing so, renders Pinaka a force multiplier. The rockets could be carried under belly and and while firing, it could be swivelled sideways.
If plausible, please give the concept to any prospective IIT students, to come up with a solution.
