Sunday morning is church service for us, then we come home and make our lunch. After that is rest, or a walk or odds and ends around the house or outside.
That sounds like a very relaxing Sunday! I grew up with that very same Sunday. Although I don’t attend a church service, I do like to have a day of rest on Sunday. 😊
You look so content and relaxed, doing your reset. I have the feeling you are like me....I read cookbooks like novels. I love to cook...most days. Your animals look precious.
Suzzane, the bread making segment of your video brought memories of my bread making experiences oh, so, long ago. It was a nice touch to sprinkle oats on top of the loaves. Your comment about the stuffed meatloaf brought back another memory. I'm not particularly a fan of hamburger helper but for a couple years Hamburger Helper made a meatloaf one that was awesome. I would mix up the raw hamburger and the Hamburger Helper mix and press about an inch layer against the bottom and sides in a greased bread loaf pan leaving enough mixture for the top layer. I would fill the cavity with creamy mashed potatoes and cover the top with a layer of the hamburger mixture. So the mashed potatoes were encased inside the meatloaf. This was not the recommended directions for the Hamburger Helper recipe but my own invention. It turned out really good and my youngest daughter was very sad when Hamburger Helper quit making the meatloaf mix. I did try to make the recipe with other meatloaf recipes, but it just wasn't quite the same. My youngest daughter still remembers those meatloaf days. Many great memories are centered around food and family gatherings to enjoy it. Have a great day in the kitchen. Nebraska Dave Urban Farmer
Hi Dave, the mashed potatoes sound like a great stuffing idea for the meatloaf! All in one. So glad I brought back those memories 😀 Have a wonderful weekend!
Yes!! Us too, we love our cats so much. Our older cat has always loved catching mice. She’s been a great hunter, but this year she is more interested in napping next to her food dish 😂. I think she has paid her dues. She’s in retirement!
Hi Suzanne, everything looks so good! I'm going to have to try the bread, it just looks like the perfect texture. Also, I love those muslin cloths. I've never seen them before. I plan on getting some, I just need to decide on which color. I loved everything about the video, thank you!
Hi Roberta 😀 This is my new favourite bread recipe! It is a perfect sandwich loaf, and it lasts over a week in my bread box! I’m so happy I found the muslin cloths. They have some great colours to choose from. I was also fond of the darker green colour. I was debating that one. I might order more (at some point!!). Have a great week!
Ahhhhh....your bread looks delicious. When younger I too made bread, but always white. Just never tried anything else. Thank you for sharing your day and your true enjoyment. Joan
Hi Joan! Thank you 😊 I’m amazed at how this bread lasts in my breadbox without going bad. It’s a great recipe. It’s down in my description if you want to try the recipe!
Love how your bread turned out. I bake bread every week also. I make an English Muffin Toasting Bread. I, like you, use my sourdough starter along with a couple of teaspoons of yeast. It is delicious for toast in the morning.
Oooh! That sounds really good! Adding the regular yeast does the trick. Sometimes I only add 1/2 a teaspoon to a teaspoon, but it gives me a more consistent rise.
before you put the cake on the cake platter put it on and place baking paper under do it sits on the paper and then u can slide it out and u have a clean platter xx
Hi Suzanne. That cake looks delicious. Does that glass cake tray keep it fresh? I love that thing. My family is coming for thanksgiving dinner on Sunday so I will be in the kitchen all day Saturday 😊 I am cooking a pork rib roast and God help me I have never done this before. Should I roast it low and slow? I don’t even know what seasonings to use. 😬
You just be Canadian? We are having our thanksgiving on Saturday. Yes, I’ve heard low and slow is the way to go. A meat thermometer is invaluable with cooking a roast. I usually do 325 degrees for about 3 hours-ish. Definitely google it though. I usually keep it quite simple. Just make to check on the liquid so it doesn’t dry up, so you get a nice gravy! Yes, the cake dome is great! It’s kind of like keeping it in Tupperware, but way cooler 😂
@@thefarmerswifecanada yes I am Canadian. I live in northeastern Ontario on the forests edge. I only have an acre and no animals but I usually get a whole lot from my garden to put up for the winter. It’s kinda beautiful here😊
Hello from chilly southeastern Ontario. The days are getting shorter! I have to compliment you on your houseplants! I know you wanted to bring more into the house; they are very healthy! Do you have their names? Switching out new kitchen towels and cleaning out a drawer feels great! Resetting is essential for one's sanity. The banana cake and icing look amazing on your cake plate! ♥
Thank you so much! ❤️ I think the fern I recently purchased was called a button fern. I also recently bought a vining plant called string of fishhooks (😂). I have a rubber plant in my dining room, and 2 pothos plants I moved into my living room. Those are very hardy and can take a bit of neglect. The ferns are a bit tricky to care for. They like to stay wet, and they don’t like direct sunlight (think forest floor).
i always have black and black and white cats i adore them and was told that black cats people dont like always hard top home fromthe shelters but i love thm its so cute xxkathy uk xx
The cat had 6 kittens. One was stillborn, and another died because it had a cleft palate and couldn’t latch on to the nipple. So 4 survived. 2 black, and 2 black with white markings. 😊
Thank you!! 😊 I was more worried about the smaller dog, Sage, as she is still a puppy and learning. Bruno, our older dog, is a gentle giant! He loves all animals. He just likes to police them and make sure they are following the rules😂😂. Sage and the kitty are actually playing together! So surprising. It’s going well.
Yes! The Mennonite cookbook I was speaking about is called “Food That Really Schmecks”. It has some great recipes, as well as stories about the recipes.

You just popped up on my feed and I really enjoyed your video, thankyou very much. I could almost smell that bread! 😊
Awww, thank you so much!! I’m so glad you watched my video ☺️🍂
The frosting looks delicious
Thank you! It was honestly a bit too sweet. I would probably use a little less than I did, as more of a glaze. But it was definitely great!
I love your farm cooking and I just let you know I’m Korean and very interesting to learn about the farm cooking.❤
Great!! That is fantastic! 😀
Loved it all.🍂🤎
Thank you Sarah ❤️
What a beautiful video..watching from England ❤

Suzanne its hard to believe we are headed into the holiday seasons already. I enjoyed your video. One day I am going to make bread.❤
Yes, this summer went by so fast! I am sad it is over. We are headed into our Canadian thanksgiving this upcoming weekend!
Another great video! Thank you for all of the inspiration.
Awww, thank you!! ☺️
That bread looks so good! I’ll have to give it a try soon
Thanks Tash ❤️ The recipe is in the description. It’s soooo good! It lasts a really long time without molding as well. Over a week.
I’m looking forward to trying the bread recipe. I have some whole wheat flour I was trying to use.
Yes!! Do try it. It’s now my personal favourite for whole wheat. You can adjust the amounts if you want more whole wheat in the bread 😊
