In the eight episodes Muti conducts the Orchestra Cherubini he founded in 2004 under the name of one of the highest Italian musicians ever. Cherubini was active not only in Italy but all over Europe, as it is the Orchestra. The name underlines the orchestra's own national identity but also its international point of view on music and culture.
In Berlioz we find also the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana and in Schubert the Camerata Strumentale della Città di Prato.
What Riccardo Muti proposes is a journey through some of the cornerstones of the history of music and through gems that might be out of the public eye, but are actual masterpieces.

Negli otto DVD Muti dirige l'Orchestra Giovanile Cherubini, la compagine da lui fondata nel 2004, che porta il nome di uno tra i massimi musicisti italiani di tutti i tempi, attivo non solo in Italia ma in tutta Europa, esattamente come l'orchestra che ne porta il nome, sottolineando la propria identità nazionale ma anche l'inclinazione a una visione internazionale della musica e della cultura (in Berlioz troviamo anche l'Orchestra Giovanile Italiana e in Schubert l'Orchestra della Camerata Strumentale della Città di Prato). Quello proposto da Riccardo Muti è un percorso alla scoperta di alcuni capisaldi della storia della musica e di gemme poco conosciute, ma non per questo meno preziose. Un viaggio in otto tappe che alterna pagine sinfoniche e titoli d'opera.
