    I grew up in Portland Dorset in the 50s, when Mackerel were caught by 2 guys in a clinker-built rowing boat, and that was their living, fish were abundant then but now if you go feathering it is a struggle to catch a few poor specimens,

      Mackerel and say herring eat whatever is small enough that they can swallow it. 😁
      but fun fact they have mostly same diet as say the biggest animal on earth, the blue whale,, mostly plankton and krill

    В 70х годах в Тихом океане, Охотском море, мы ловили кошельковым неводом скумбрию, сельдь иваси и селедку! И наше технология лова была гораздо проще, надежнее и более эффективнее!!!

    bit close into land are they not

    • @samkom33
      @samkom33 2 года назад +1

      not to close to land, since they use a small boat pulling them out of the net and-ore they have side trusters.
      i used to be crew on a bit bigger 78 feet boat when i was young in the 1970s 1980. we didnt have side trusters but our little 18 feet tug boat with 100 hp perkins did pull hard.
