Practical training is helpful for students to find a job in the future. Practical training can increase students' interest in civil engineering.
one of the major problems faced in engineering is the quality of education they receive while doing pursuing a programme in an institute. Several engineering institutions that have been set up in the last two decades lack well-qualified faculty and important laboratory infrastructure. Civil engineering is being transformed from theory-heavy to practice-oriented programme, which needs a constructive laboratory infrastructure, helping students carry out various experiments. A dearth of such infrastructure not only hampers the learning ability of students but also reduces their employment opportunities.
Various job profiles post a civil engineering course requires the incumbent to communicate with multiple stakeholders unlike in the past when the communication in the early career of a civil engineer was limited to semi and unskilled workers. Lack of emphasis on soft skills training during their engineering programme is posing a challenge to the graduates. Most civil engineering graduates start their career in the construction industry and feel that their current qualification would merely suffice for them to survive the competition. But they soon realise that construction industry needs much wider knowledge and skills than they learnt in classrooms. They realise that for a career growth and to reach the highest levels of management, they need specialised skills in management to meet the organisational goals.
Despite growth in built environment, civil engineering is currently not an attractive career option; it demands long working hours, frequent on-site work (sometimes in grueling conditions and harsh weather), handle environmental, sustainability and protection issues, and interact effectively with workers and mid-to-senior management. These factors may dissolute anyone who wants to have a high-flying career.

Fascinating. My wife is from the Philippines. Instruction is similar. The teacher/professor speaking in a Filipino language as they write everything in English.
Amazing how many countries that students must first be fluent in English before they can become educated in some academic discipline.
