Riley Baugus frequently performs with Dirk Powell. Together they are two of the most respected names on the Traditional Music circuit, having crafted music for the film Cold Mountain and playing alongside some of the most renowned Traditional artists of our time.

Thanks, Riley!
Riley ol son I have to say that’s a really nice sounding banjo. Perfect amount of warmth but can get that higher punch when using “pick” or in this case fingers to get that attack. And it stays in tune for a whole song hahaha some them ol time banjos can’t get bout half on’ry trying to keep them in tune! Great video and great explanation of playing at the front of the beat but that it doesn’t mean you’re playing faster!
Just a note re: the video title: This seems to be Round Peak 'Clawhammer' (Frailing etc) style, meaning in this case you hit the string with the outside of the nail, instead of picking. Anyway, thanks for the video!
Clawhammer?
Yes
