We go the the Smoky Mountains when we go on vacation. The first time we went was on our honeymoon 31 years ago . We fell in love, we are mountain people like you are with your beach. But, even with all the times we’ve been we always find something new. I hope you got that painting!!

We went on cruise over the summer. I know you’ve mentioned you get motion sick a few times, but cruises are some of the best vacations I’ve ever been on. Have a wonderful vacation Laura!! You deserve it & can’t wait to hear about it!
Have a wonderful vacation Laura! I am a house painter and my husband and I own are own business. Our busy season is spring and summer so we only get late fall/winter vacations 😂
Hi Laura - vacations! I haven't had one in awhile - my boyfriend's work culture makes him feel he needs to be available all the time - we're lucky to get away for a long weekend. I'm in NC - so it usually means a quick jaunt down the highway to Wilmington for the beach. We usually stay at a Marriot right on the beach - all the rooms are ocean front - and once there, we walk everywhere. A couple times we've hopped on a plane to Nashville to enjoy the country music scene. Just before Covid - i had a couple really awesome vacations - one was a river rafting trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon - a week on the river and away from all outside news, social media, etc. A week of sleeping under the stars, and tons of laughter. The other trip was to Vietnam - my dad wanted to go back and see it as his 50 yr. anniversary of serving during the war. I don't like to fly, but i'm more of a "Jesus take the wheel" kind of girl. Vacations - I really love the mountains, especially North Carolina. Hubby and I used to go on vacation riding together on our Touring Bike (motorcycle) in the mountains. Best fun ever! I don't get to ride very much now due to health. But JOY - we are going in the car to Banner Elk North Carolina at the end of September. It's a winter snow-skiing mecca, but we will be there during the off-season. No special plans, just fun and relaxation. Can't wait!!
I know what you mean about returning year after year to the same vacation spot. There's a level of security there because you know what to expect.
